For enhanced efficiency and flexible scanning of a range of document types, including plastic cards and thick documents, select scanner models feature a straight paper path in addition to the standard U-Turn path.

U-Turn Path

Full Auto Mode

Using Canon’s unique algorithm, applies the best settings for scanning originals in correct orientation, the optimal resolution, etc., eliminating the need to make detailed settings.

Available with P-215/DR-C125/M140/M160.

Automatic Color Detection

This function automatically determines which documents of a mixed batch should be scanned in color, so it’s no longer necessary to separate black & white and color documents prior to scanning.

When the batch or document includes a photo which is difficult to be read in B&W mode, these documents can be scanned in Gray mode and saved in better legibility.

Auto Page Size Detection

Save the time and trouble of sorting batches by paper size. This function automatically checks the size of each fed document and ensures properly sized images for each page.

Deskew

If a document is fed into the scanner at an angle, this function automatically straightens out the scanned image.

Text Orientation Recognition

Perfect for scanning batches of documents that are facing different directions, this feature recognizes the text orientation of each fed document and rotates the scanned images accordingly.

Skip Blank Page

Useful for scanning batches that include single- and double-sided documents, this feature automatically removes unnecessary blank pages from the image file.

HIGH-QUALITY IMAGES

Advanced CMOS contact image sensor

Capture fine lines and intricate image detail thanks to Canon's advanced CMOS contact image sensor technology. In addition to providing superior image output, CMOS technology also cuts energy consumption and eliminates warm-up time.

DR-7090C employs both CMOS and CCD technologies and DR-2020U employs Dual CCD technologies and Flatbed Scanner Unit 101 employs CCD technology.

Character Emphasis

This function increases the thickness of characters and lines, for enhancements such as in display visibility and OCR recognition.

3-Dimensional Color Correction

For unprecedented color reproduction and accuracy, 3-Dimensional Color Correction faithfully reproduces a document's color information using a built-in conversion circuit to pinpoint exact RGB color coordinates. The end result is superior color quality, plus enhanced readability for OCR scanning applications.

2 SCANNING MODES

There are two method, ´´Scan First´´ and ´´Select Scan Job´´, available for scanning, and you can start both methods by clicking the ´´Start´´ button on the screen.

Scan First

From scanning documents to data handling tasks such as Save to folder, Attach to E-mail, and Print, your scanning workflow is easily performed with simplified operation. Just by following the instructions on the highly visual screen, work can be carried out without hesitation, even for anyone not familiar with digitizing documents.

Plug-in function

Provides easier and quicker cooperation with Cloud application / ECM software services. Enables you to scan to a Cloud application. Also supports installed Evernote*, Google docs

Select Scan Job

Up to 10 scan workflows are registerable, with 50 registerable for DR2020U. This simplifies routine selection tasks including file format, scan settings, and save destination. Jobs can also be assigned to the machine's buttons, so all you have to do is press a button to scan and save in a customary location (PDF format).

Bundled application presets in Job list*

Once installed, bundled applications (including BizCard and PaperPort) appear as preset Jobs and launch automatically when you send scan data. Makes for an easy scan-and-send workflow.

High Compression PDF

High compression of data enables you to manage a large volume of data and still have room to spare. Further, it reduces burdens on the network and server, and also promotes sharing of large-volume color data, which has the capability to accurately relay an image.

Seachable PDF files

Includes text information during scanning to allow full-text searching. Allows you to quickly find and use required information when needed in a saved file.
