print speeds of up to 20ppm at full HQ 1200 dpi
resolution (2400x600dpi), this range delivers
crisp, clean documents with high definition even
when operating at optimum speed.

Improved printing versatility
Memory that is fully upgradeable
The HL-5100 series offers various levels of
memory capability – ranging between 16MB and
32MB as standard*.
Such flexibility allows you to choose the printer
most suited to your workload and therefore
prevent bottlenecks when print demand is high.
It also means that the network is free to
concentrate on other tasks.
With a memory capacity that is fully
upgradeable to between 144MB and 160MB*,
any workgroup will now be able to comfortably
cope with changing circumstances and
demands without having to constantly replace
their printers.
Compatibility
In the modern office, with an increasing number
of users working from different system software,
workgroups require a cross-platform printer.
That is why all HL-5100 series machines have
optimised drivers for Windows 95 to XP, Mac
OS 8.6 to 10.3, Linux and DOS.
Both ‘High Speed USB 2.0’ and parallel ports
come as standard with the HL-5100 series. This
enables you to continue using your current
operating system without upgrading, therefore
saving you time and money.
Paper capacity to handle every
requirement
The days of printing solely on plain white paper
are gone forever. In the modern office,
workgroups not only need to print on different
stocks and different colours, but also
letterheads, envelopes and labels. Choice is
again the key with the HL-5100 series.
All models have an up to 250 sheet** paper
tray, and with the HL-5150D and HL-5170DN
users upgrade from a single sheet slot to an up
to 50 sheet** multi-purpose tray. Plus, an
optional up to 250 sheet** paper tray (LT-5000)
is available. This level of flexibility dramatically
improves printing versatility and all-round office
efficiency.
Quality supplies to save time and
money
Right from the first print, the HL-5100 series offers
exceptional value with no additional or hidden
costs. Instead of providing starter cartridges that
will run out at around 1,500 pages, this range
arrives with a standard yield toner (up to 3,500
pages @ 5% coverage, A4) and a separate high
yield drum unit that only needs replacing once it
has produced up to 20,000 A4 pages. The clear
advantage of this is that the cost of printing a page
is kept low.
Further savings and greater efficiency can be
achieved with an optional high yield toner that
can print up to 6,700 pages @ 5% coverage, A4.
