The G450 is a smart home control gateway designed
to operate in a smart home supported environment for
home automation use. When connected to a Bosch
control panel, the G450 allows smart home devices
such as thermostats, lighting controls, door locks,
sensors, and cameras, to work together within a single
ecosystem.

System overview

The home control gateway easily connects to your
existing Local Area Network (LAN) with the supplied
Ethernet cable. Whether home or away, accessing the
home control gateway has been made easier thanks to
an app and web browser interface. Login from any
web browser or internet-enabled phone through the
Bosch Remote Security Plus app (available for Android
and iOS).

Functions

Account creation

End-user accounts are created by the Security Dealer,
through an administrative portal. End-users may add
users to provide access for their family members, or
business associates.

Adding smart home devices

Add new smart home devices using wizards that allow
the home control gateway to “discover” new devices.
Simply put the controller into “include” mode and
activate the device you wish to add.

Energy management applications

Control the amount of energy used in your house when
using temperature sensors in concert with your
thermostat. These devices allows you to efficiently
control the temperature range of your house by
creating a “scene” that adjusts your temperature
based on sensor information. Other applications
include; turning on/off appliances, shutting off
sprinkler systems, or turning lights on at
predetermined times.

House Modes

House Modes allow you to quickly and easily automate
multiple functions into one simple button press. For
example, when you are away, your home control
gateway automatically locks your door, turns off the
lights, and adjusts the thermostat to a desired
temperature. House Modes gives you peace of mind,
while also reducing unnecessary energy usage. House

Smart Home monitoring

The home control gateway allows you to monitor your
smart home solution while you are away by sending
you a text message or an email to your mobile device
when your doors are unlocked. You can also view a
snapshot or live video from your computer or
smartphone when configured with a video camera to
verify your environment is safe without unwelcome
guests.

Scene creation

The home control gateway allows you to create
“scenes” or series of actions incorporating your smart
home devices and Bosch control panel. A scene may
include an automated series of events such as
adjusting your thermostat, turning on your lights, and
unlocking your door as you pull into your driveway.

Web browser programming

Use the web browser to:

• Set up and configure your end user's system

• Set up notifications for users

Installation/configuration notes

Installation considerations

The home control gateway connects to your Local Area
Network (LAN). Installation of the home control
gateway needs to be connected to the same LAN as
the Bosch control panel. A static IP address is
required for the control panel.
