D279A Independent Zone Control
www.boschsecurity.com
u Permits independent arming and disarming of a
single control panel zone or point
u Four-digit, user-programmable passcode
u Panic function
The D279A Independent Zone Control arms and
disarms a single control panel zone or point separately
from the rest of the system. It features a userprogrammable four-digit pass code for arming and
disarming, and a panic function. Entry and exit delay
times allow users to locate the D279A Independent
Zone Control inside the protected area. The D279A
initiates the opening and closing of reports for each
zone, assuming that the control panels are
programmed for opening and closing reports and
compatible with the device.
The D279A includes a ten-wire cable for interfacing
with a control panel (four wires), protective loops
(three wires), and on-board relay (three wires).
Notice
The D279A is not supervised from the control
panel; UL Listed applications require arming
device supervision.
System overview
The D279A arms or disarms a single zone on a
compatible control panel separately from the rest of
the system. This zone is divided into two loops: one
delayed and one instant. Sensors can be wired to
u Preprogrammed entry and exit delay times
u Individual annunciation of delayed and instant loop
status
these loops in series (normally-closed) or in parallel
(normally open). Both loops must be normal before
the D279A can be armed. When the delayed and
instant loops return to normal after an alarm, the
D279A is ready to detect another alarm.

Compatibility Information
Control Panels D2212, D2412, D4112, D6112, D7212B1,
D7412G, D7412GV2, D8112, D9112B1,
D9412G, and D9412GV2
Mounting Considerations
The D279A mounts directly onto a wall, installs in a
flush mount unit, or attaches to a D55 Desk Stand.
Avoid mounting the D279A in a location exposed to
direct sunlight. Direct sunlight makes the LEDs less
visible and intense heat can damage the enclosure and
electrical components.
Connection Considerations
The wiring between the D279A and the control panel
is not supervised for trouble conditions. The wiring
between the D279A and remote sensing devices is
supervised with end-of-line (EOL) resistors.
