HOW TO USE

This appliance is for household use and may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.

IMPORTANT:

During the first few minutes of initial use, there may be a slight odor. This is normal and will quickly disappear.

WARNING: This multiple temperature curling iron has been specially designed to curl very coarse, thick, hard-to-curl hair. Due to this special application, the barrel of this curling iron will be hotter on the HI (21-30) settings than regular dual-heat curling irons. Due to the extreme heat capabilities of this iron, the barrel will be very hot in the HI (21-30) settings, so extra care should be taken when using.

TEST A SMALL SECTION OF HAIR BEFORE USING; THEN ADJUST TEMPERATURE DEPENDING ON TYPE OF HAIR.

•Keep heated surfaces away from contact with all skin areas. Do not touch iron barrel with fingertips.

•For shorter hair, place a thin plastic comb between scalp and curling iron barrel to avoid touching scalp.

•Place fingers of free hand on safety tip when more control is needed for curling.

SPECIAL FEATURE: This iron features solid-state electronic circuitry with a heat sensor that detects temperature loss and quickly boosts the power to bring the heat level back to optimum styling temperature. This allows for styling in half the time it takes with an ordinary iron.

TO USE: For a complete styling, hair should be clean, dry and free from dirt, hair spray, creams, etc.

•Rest the iron on its stand on a smooth, flat surface, and plug in.

•Turn the On/Off switch to the On position.

•Select a temperature according to the type and texture of hair to be styled.

FOR FAST HEAT-UP: With heat control dial set at desired position, allow unit to pre-heat. It takes 60 seconds to heat up. For optimum styling performance, let the iron continue to heat for about 2-3 minutes before using.

HEAT SETTINGS:

HI (21-30): These settings are very hot. Use only if hair is very coarse and highly resistant, but in good condition.

MED/HI (16-20): Use heat settings in this range for dense, hard-to-curl hair in good condition.

MEDIUM (13-15): Use heat settings in this range for thick, wavy hair in good condition.

LO/MED (7-12): Use heat settings in this range for easy-to-curl, normal hair. LO (1-6): Use LO heat setting for very fine, fragile, light-colored hair.

STYLING: Start by sectioning hair into strands of not more than 2 inches wide and 1/2” thick.

Keep the hair strand smooth by brushing or combing through the section while holding the ends taut with the other hand.

Taking one section at a time, place the ends of hair over the barrel with the clamp open. Then close the clamp, making sure that the ends extend just a tiny bit beyond the clamp. Grasp the safety tip with the other hand.

Keep the section of hair taut as you wind it around the hot barrel by turning the handle with one hand and the safety tip with the other. Wind the curl toward the scalp without touching scalp with the hot barrel.

Hold the curl in place for up to 20 seconds for tight curls or if hair is hard to curl. Hold for less time if hair is easy to curl, or if you want loose curls or just waves. When ready to release curl, unwind about half a turn (for longer hair, unwind a bit more) and push down on the clamp release lever to open the clamp. Now, gently withdraw the barrel from the center of curl. Allow curl to cool, and try not to disturb curls while proceeding in the same manner around whole head.

When completely finished, and all curls have cooled thoroughly, gently brush and comb hair into the style desired.

CARE AND CLEANING

This appliance requires little maintenance and contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself. See warranty for instructions.

TO CLEAN: Unplug curling iron and allow to cool. Iron must be cleaned only when cold. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the handle. Do not allow water or any other liquid to go into handle of the iron.

TO STORE: Unplug appliance, allow to cool, and store in its box or in a dry place. Never store it while it is hot or still plugged in. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance. Never hang unit by the cord -- use the hanging ring provided. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.

COMO USAR

Este artefacto es para uso doméstico y puede ser enchufado en cualquier toma de corriente de corriente alterna (corriente ordinaria doméstica). No use ningúna otra toma de corriente.

IMPORTANTE:

Durante los primeros minutos de su uso inicial, podría haber un ligero olor. Esto es normal y desaparecerá rápidamente.

PRECAUCION: Esta tenaza para rizar de múltiple temperatura ha sido especialmente diseñada para rizar cabellos muy gruesos y difíciles de rizar. Debido a esta especial cualidad, la barra de esta tenaza estará más caliente en las posiciones de temperatura Alta (21-30) que las tenazas regulares de doble temperatura. Dada la capacidad para una extrema temperatura de esta tenaza, la barra estará muy caliente en las posiciones de temperatura ALTA (21-30), se recomienda mucho cuidado cuando se esté usando.

HAGA UNA PRUEBA EN UNA PEQUEÑA SECCION DEL CABELLO ANTES DE USARLA; LUEGO SELECCIONE LA TEMPERATURA DE ACUERDO AL TIPO DE CABELLO.

•Evite el contacto de la unidad con la piel. No toque la barra de la tenaza con los dedos.

•Para cabellos más cortos, coloque un peine delgado de plástico entre la tenaza y el cuero cabelludo para evitar tocar este último.

•Coloque los dedos de la mano libre en la punta protectora cuando sea necesario más control para el rizado.

CARACTERISTICA ESPECIAL: Esta tenaza se caracteriza por un circuito electrónico con un sensor de temperatura que detecta la pérdida de temperatura y eleva rápidamente la fuerza para regresar a un nivel de temperatura óptima para el peinado. Esto le permite peinarse en la mitad del tiempo que toma con una tenaza ordinaria.

COMO USARSE: Para un mejor acabado, el cabello debe estar limpio, seco y libre de laca, cremas, etc.

•Coloque la tenaza en su parador en una superficie plana y enchúfela.

•Encienda el interruptor de Encendido/Apagado (On/Off) y la luz indicadora se iluminará.

•Luego seleccione la temperatura de acuerdo al tipo y textura del pelo a ser peinado.

PARA UN RAPIDO CALENTAMIENTO: Con el dial de control de temperatura colocado en la posición deseada, deje que la unidad se caliente. Toma 60 segundos para que se caliente. Para un óptimo resultado del peinado, deje que la tenaza se caliente por lo menos 2-3 minutos antes de usarla.

POSICIONES DE TEMPERATURAS:

ALTA (21-30): Estas temperaturas son muy calientes. Uselas si el cabello es muy grueso, abundante, resistente, pero en buenas condiciones.

MEDIANA/ALTA (16-20): Use las temperaturas en este orden para cabellos abundantes, difíciles de rizar en buenas condiciones.

MEDIANA (13-15): Use las temperaturas en este orden para cabellos gruesos, ondulados y en buenas condiciones.

BAJA/MEDIANA (7-12): Use las temperaturas en este orden para cabellos fáciles de rizar, cabellos normales.

BAJA (1-6): Use las temperaturas Bajas para cabellos muy finos, frágiles y de color claro.

PEINADO: Comience dividiendo el pelo en mechones de no más de 2 pulgadas de ancho y 1/2” pulgada de grueso.

Mantenga los mechones suaves, cepillándolos o peinándolos mientras sostiene la punta del pelo estirado con la otra mano.

Tomando una sección a la vez, coloque las puntas del cabello sobre la barra con el clip abierto. Luego cierre el clip, asegurándose que las puntas del cabello se extiendan solo un poquito fuera del clip. Sostenga la punta protectora con la otra mano.

Mantenga la sección del pelo estirado conforme vaya enrollándolo en la barra caliente, dándole vuelta por el mango con una mano y por la punta protectora con la otra. Enrolle el rizo lo más que desee hacia el cuero cabelludo sin tocarlo con la barra caliente.

Sostenga el rulo en el lugar por 20 segundos para rizos bien acentuados o si el cabello es difícil de ondular. Mantenga por menos tiempo si el cabello es fácil de rizar o si desea rulos sueltos o solamente ondas. Cuando ya esté listo para soltar, desenvuelva media vuelta (para cabellos más largos desenvuelva un poco más) y empuje hacia abajo la palanca del clip para abrirlo. Ahora suavemente suelte la barra del centro del rizo. Deje que el rizo se enfríe y trate de no tocar los demás rizos hasta que termine con toda la cabeza.

Cuando ya esté todo listo y los rizos estén completamente fríos, suavemente cepille y péinelos al estilo deseado.

CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA

Este artefacto requiere poco mantenimiento y no tiene piezas que puedan ser reparadas. No trate de repararlo usted mismo. Consulte las instrucciones de la garantía.

PARA LIMPIAR: Desenchufe la tenaza y déjela que se enfríe. La tenaza solamente debe limpiarse cuando esté fría. Use un paño suave, ligeramente humedecido para limpiar el mango. No deje que penetre agua u otro líquido al mango de la tenaza.

PARA GUARDAR: Desenchufe el aparato, déjelo que se enfríe y guárdelo en su caja o en un sitio seco. Nunca lo guarde mientras esté caliente o enchufado. No enrolle ajustadamente el cable alrededor de la unidad. No la cuelgue nunca por el cable - use el aro de colgar que viene con la unidad. No ponga presión sobre el cable en la parte que entra en la unidad pues podría ocasionar que el cable se desgaste y se rompa.
