LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1.Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
2.To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3.To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4.Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, this indicates that the appliance should be serviced and the line cord replaced.
5.Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where it enters the appliance and cause it to fray
and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
HOW TO USE
This appliance is equipped with an ESP® Electric Shock Protector™/ALCI (appliance leakage current interrupter) specifically engineered for safety. It is for household use and may be plugged into any AC electrical outlet (ordinary household current). Do not use any other electrical outlet.
HOW ESP/ALCI WORKS
The ESP/ALCI safety device in this unit is built into the plug. This device will make it inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as accidental immersion in water. If the appliance is immersed in water, do not attempt to reset the ESP/ALCI safety device. Please take the unit to the nearest service facility for examination.
The ESP/ALCI safety device is equipped with a test button so that its operation can be checked.
TO USE (See Fig. A):
1.Press the reset button on the ESP /ALCI safety device.
2.Plug appliance into AC electrical outlet.
3.Then press the test button. The reset button will pop out. This verifies that the safety device is operating properly. Should the reset button not pop out,
do not use the unit. Return immediately for service.
4.Press the reset button to re-activate the ESP /ALCI safety device and use the
appliance.
At any time, should this unit detect an electrical shock hazard, it will immediately shut off. To restore power, the reset button on the ESP /ALCI safety device must be pressed to reactivate the circuit.
Repeat the above procedure each time this appliance is used to confirm that the safety device is operational.
IMPORTANT: Never block air intake grille, as this will cause the unit to overheat.
Should this happen, a built-in safety system will operate, and the unit will shut off automatically. At this point, turn the switch to Off and wait a while before attempting to operate appliance again. If the unit fails to operate after 10 minutes, it may indicate that the appliance has sustained extensive internal damage.
Do not try to repair it yourself. Take it to an electrical service facility, or return it to the manufacturer. See warranty for instructions.
CAUTION: Heating section should never be touched as it may be hot and burns may occur.
To avoid possible scalp or hair burns, use very hot setting only when hair is wet. Reduce to lower heat as hair dries.
Do not keep appliance directed at one place; keep it in constant motion. This is especially important if drying a wig, which could be damaged by heat.
For maximum airflow, hold dryer no closer to the head than six inches.
SPECIAL ATTENTION:
This appliance is designed with a protective coating around the heating coils. During the first few minutes of initial use and immediately after the dryer is switched OFF, you may notice smoke and a slight odor. This is normal and will quickly disappear. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a defect in the unit.
To extend the life of the dryer, it is advisable to switch it to the coolest setting for a few seconds before shutting it off.
YOUR DRYER:
This dryer features two speeds and three temperature settings.
•High heat/speed for most styling/setting procedures and hair types.
•Low heat/speed for "finishing" a hairstyle or for drying and styling permed, color-treated or fragile hair.
•Cool setting, to set the style in place.
HOW TO ADD/REMOVE ATTACHMENTS:
Align attachment with track and slide along the track until it locks into place (See Fig. B). To remove slide attachment off of the track.
DRYING AND DETANGLING
1.For initial drying use the High heat/speed setting.
2.As hair begins to dry attach the wide-tooth comb for detangling and continue drying. Use Low heat/speed for fragile, permed or color-treated hair.
SHAPING- To add fullness and body to your hair:
1.Half-way dry hair, attach the thermal styling brush.
2.Set to the Low heat/speed setting.
3.Brush-dry your entire head of hair against its natural growth pattern, then brush-dry into place.
4.Stop when your hair is almost dry.
STYLING - Both the thermal styling brush and fine-tooth comb attachments can be used for final styling.
•Thermal styling brush – adds body, soft waves and smoothes out unruly hair.
•Fine-tooth comb – adds height and fullness.
HOW TO USE YOUR DUAL VOLTAGE DRYER
For use in the U.S.A., the voltage selector should be in the 125-volt position. On 125 volts AC, you can use Low or High heat/speed or the Cool setting.
When in the Cool setting it will have a reduced motor speed.
For use in several countries overseas, the voltage selector may need to be placed in the 250-volt position. Confirm the voltage available at each overseas location before using the appliance. For connection to a 220-250 volt supply, use an attachment plug adapter of the proper configuration for the power supply receptacle.
HOW TO CHANGE VOLTAGE NOTE:
Be sure switch is in the Off position
Use an appropriate instrument to move the voltage selector to the 125or 250-volt setting.
When using the 250-volt setting, this dryer will work only in the Low and Cool positions. When in the Low position it will be operating at High heat/speed. Do not, at any time, try to force the switch into the High heat/speed
When in the Cool position it will have a reduced motor speed.
CARE AND CLEANING
This appliance is permanently lubricated and will not require additional lubrication for the life of the unit. It contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service personnel.
WHILE USING: Untwist cord from time to time to avoid tangling.
TO CLEAN: Unplug unit and allow to cool. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe appliance surfaces. Do not allow water or any other liquid to get into the unit. Intake grille must be cleared of any build-up of lint or hair with a small brush. TO STORE: Unplug appliance, allow to cool, and store in its box or in a dry place.
Never store it while it is hot or still plugged in. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance. Never hang unit by the cord -- use the hanging ring provided. Do not put any stress on the cord where it enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.
SERVICE NOTE: Before returning unit for service, please make sure the air intake grille is free of lint and hair. If it needs cleaning, clean by hand with a small brush, or use a vacuum cleaner brush attachment. If unit has a removable grille, be sure to clean the fixed grille attached to the housing as well as the removable grille.
Then try to operate the unit again.

SUGERENCIAS PARA LA SEGURIDAD CON EL CABLE
1.Nunca hale ni tire del cable ni del aparato.
2.Para conectar el enchufe, sujételo con firmeza e introdúzcalo con cuidado en la toma de corriente.
3.Para desconectar la unidad, sujete el enchufe y retírelo de la toma de corriente.
4.Antes de cada uso, revise el cable eléctrico y asegúrese que no tenga cortaduras ni seña de abrasiones. De ser así, el aparato debe someterse a mantenimiento y el cable debe ser reemplazado.
5.Nunca enrolle el cable de manera ajustada alrededor de la unidad. El exceso

COMO USAR
Este artefacto con ESP® Electric Shock Protector™ (protector contra descargas eléctricas)/ALCI (interruptor de filtración de corriente) está especialmente diseñado para seguridad. Es para uso doméstico y puede ser enchufado en cualquier toma de corriente alterna (CA) (corriente ordinaria doméstica). No use ningúna otra toma de corriente.
COMO FUNCIONA ESP/ALCI: El dispositivo de seguridad ESP/ALCI en esta unidad está incorporado en el enchufe. PARA USAR (Vea la Fig. A):

4.Siempre que use el secador, oprima el botón de renicio del dispositivo de seguridad para reactivarlo y asegurarse que esté funcionando apropiadamente.
Esta unidad se apagará de inmediato si llegase a detectar cualquier peligro de choque eléctrico. Oprima el botón del dispositivo de seguridad para reactivar el circuito.
Repita el procedimiento de arriba cada vez que el artefacto es usado para confirmar que el dispositivo de seguridad está funcionando bien.
IMPORTANTE: A fin de evitar que el secador se caliente demasiado, no obstruya las entradas de aire. En dado caso, un sistema de seguridad incorporado se activa, y la unidad se apaga automáticamente. Apague el interruptor y limpie toda obstrucción de la rejilla en la entrada de aire. Espere 10 minutos antes de encender el secador nuevamente. Si el secador no funciona, es posible que ha sostenido daño más serio.
No trate de reparar el secador en casa. Acuda a un centro de servicio para electrodomésticos o devuélvalo al fabricante. Consulte las instrucciones de la garantía.
PRECAUCION: A fin de evitar quemaduras, no toque el sistema de calentamiento del secador. Para evitar posibles quemaduras al cuero cabelludo o al cabello, use la posición y la velocidad más caliente sólo cuando el cabello esté mojado. Reduzca la temperatura a medida el cabello se vaya secando. No dirija el calor a una sola parte del cabello; mantenga el secador en movimiento constante. Esto es muy importante especialmente al secar pelucas que pueden dañarse con el calor. Para lograr máximo flujo de aire, sujete el secador a una distancia no menor de seis pulgadas de la cabeza.
CUIDADO ESPECIAL:
Esta unidad ha sido diseñada con una capa de recubrimiento que protege las resistencias de calor. No se alarme si en los primeros minutos de uso e inmediatamente después de apagar el secador, éste emite humo y un ligero olor. Esto es normal y desaparece en poco tiempo. No representa ningún peligro al usuario, como tampoco indica desperfecto en la unidad.
A fin de prolongar la vida útil del secador, se recomienda ajustarlo a la temperatura más fría por unos segundos antes de apagarlo.
CARACTERISTICAS DEL SECADOR
Este secador cuenta con ajuste de dos velocidades y tres temperaturas.
• Temperatura/velocidad alta para estilizar/peinar casi todo tipo de cabello.
•Temperatura/velocidad baja para "retocar" el peinado o para secar y estilizar cabello tratado con permanente, teñido o marchito.
•Temperatura fría para darle acabado al peinado.
COMO INSTALAR Y RETIRAR LOS ACCESORIOS:
Alinee la ranura del accesorio con el carril y deslice el accesorio hacia adentro hasta quedar seguro en su lugar (Vea la Fig. B). Para retirarlo, deslícelo sobre el carril hacia afuera.
COMO SECAR Y DESENREDAR EL CABELLO
1.Comience por secar el cabello con la temperatura alta.
2.A medida vaya secando el cabello, instale el peine descentrado de dientes anchos para desenredar el cabello y continuar secándolo. Utilice la temperatura y velocidad baja para secar y desenredar el cabello marchito, teñido o tratado con permanente.
COMO DAR FORMA AL CABELLO - Para darle cuerpo y volumen al cabello:
1.A medio secar el cabello, instale el cepillo térmico.
2.Ajuste el secador a la temperatura/velocidad baja.
3.Séquese todo el cabello en dirección contraria a la raíz y luego cepíllese el cabello de manera normal.
4.Pare una vez que el cabello esté casi completamente seco.
COMO ESTILIZAR - Tanto el cepillo térmico como el peine de dientes finos puede usarse para estilizar.
•Cepillo térmico para estilizar – agrega cuerpo, ondas suaves y suaviza el cabello rebelde.
•Peine fino descentrado – agrega altura y volumen.
COMO USAR EL SECADOR DE DOBLE VOLTAJE
Para usar el secador en los E. U. A., ajuste el selector de voltaje a la posición que indica 125V. Con 125V AC, se puede ajustar el secador a la temperatura/velocidad alta o baja. Cuando el secador se ajusta a la posición fría, el motor funciona a una velocidad más baja.
Para usar la unidad en algunos países extranjeros, quizás deba ajustar el selector de voltaje a la posición que indica 250V. Antes de usar el secador en un país extranjero, asegúrese de verificar el voltaje disponible. Para conectar la unidad a una toma de 220-250V, utilice un adaptador o un enchufe apropiado para el receptáculo.
COMO CAMBIAR EL VOLTAJE NOTA:
Asegúrese que el interruptor esté apagado.
Utilice un instrumento apropiado para mover el selector de voltaje de una posición a otra (de 125V a 250V).
Este secador funcionará únicamente a velocidad baja y temperatura fría cuando el selector de voltaje se ajusta a 250V. Cuando el secador está en posición baja funciona a temperatura y velocidad alta. NO trate de forzar el interruptor y ajustarlo a la posición de temperatura/velocidad alta.
Cuando el secador está ajustado a la posición de temperatura fría, el motor funciona con menos fuerza.
CUIDADO Y LIMPIEZA
Este aparato trae lubricante permanente de fábrica y no requiere más lubricación a lo largo de su vida útil. No contiene partes serviles al consumidor. Cualquier mantenimiento debe realizarse por personal de servicio calificado.
MIENTRAS USE EL SECADOR: Asegúrese de mantener el cable desenredado.
PARA LIMPIAR: Desconecte el secador y permita que se enfríe. Use un paño suave humedecido para limpiar la superficie de la unidad. No permita la penetración de agua ni ningún otro líquido adentro del secador. Limpie la rejilla de admisión de aire con una escobilla pequeña a fin de eliminar cualqier acumulación de pelusa o de pelo.
ALMACENAMIENTO: Desconecte el secador, permita que se enfríe y almacénelo en la caja original de empaque o en un lugar seco. Nunca lo guarde mientras esté caliente o aún enchufado. Nunca enrolle el cable de manera ajustada alrededor de la unidad. Nunca cuelgue el secador por el cable — use el aro provisto. A fin de evitar que el cable se debilite y se rompa, no aplique presión excesiva a la unión del cable con la unidad.
NOTA CON RESPECTO A SERVICIO: Antes de devolver la unidad para cualquier servicio o revisión, por favor asegúrese que la rejilla de admisión de aire esté libre de pelusa y pelo. Si la rejilla requiere limpieza, límpiela a mano con una escobilla pequeña o use el accesorio de cepillo de la aspiradora. Si el secador tiene una rejilla removible, asegúrese de limpiar tanto la rejilla fija, sujeta al cuerpo del secador como la removible. Luego encienda el secador nuevamente para comprobar si está funcionando apropiadamente.
