(1) CV IN – Each c hannel has its own C V input

which is ca scaded to the chan nels below,
provide d that they do not have a CV c able
inser ted. If only CV IN 1 is conn ected it will
control al l 4 channels. Each C V input has
an associ ated CV LED which lig hts green
for a posit ive CV (VCA gain) and re d for a
negative C V (VCA attenuat ion), if the CV IN
voltage is 0V t hen the LED does not li ght.

(2 ) C V ATTENUATOR – Each channel ha s a CV

Attenuato r, which can r educe the CV input
signal leve l when moved CCW.

(3 ) BOOST – Ea ch channel has a swi tchable

Boost co ntrol, which rais es the input gain
by +6 dB when th e switch is set in the
right-hand position.

(4 ) CURVE – Ea ch channel has a conti nuously

variable VC A response cur ve, ranging from
expone ntial at full CCW to line ar at full CW.

(5 ) LEVE L – Each channel has it s own overall

VCA outpu t level control. The r esponse of
the Level con trol is aecte d by the Curve
control setting.

(6 ) INPUTS – E ach channel has it s own

input, wh ich can be used wit h audio or
CV input s ignals.

(7 ) OUTPUTS – Eac h channel has its ow n

output , which is mixed with c hannels to
the right i f no output cable is i nserted
into that ch annel output. If on ly the 4/
Mix outp ut jack is connect ed the module
operate s as a 4 into 1 mixer, which can
be operat ed manually using the Le vel
controls , or voltage contro lled via the
CV input s.

Power Connection

The Four Play m odule comes with th e required
power cabl e for connecti ng to a standard Euro rack
power supp ly system. Follow t hese steps to
connec t power tothe module. I t is easier to make
these con nections bef ore the module has be en
mounted in to a rack case.

1. Turn the power su pply or rack case p ower o
and discon nect the power ca ble.

2. Insert the 16- pin connector o n the power cable
into the so cket on the power supp ly or rack
case. The co nnector has a tab t hat will align
with the ga p in the socket, so it c annot be
inser ted incorrect ly. If the power supply do es
not have a keyed s ocket, be sure to ori ent pin 1
(-12 V) with th e red stripe on the c able.

3. Insert the 10 -pin connecto r into the socket on
the back of t he module. The conne ctor has a
tab that wi ll align with the soc ket for correc t
orientation.

4. After both en ds of the power cable hav e been
secure ly attached, you m ay mount the module
in a case and t urn on the power supp ly.

Installation

The neces sary screws ar e included with th e
module fo r mounting in a Eurora ck case. Connec t
the power c able before mount ing.

Dependi ng on the rack case, th ere may be a series
of xed hol es spaced 2 HP apart a long the length
of the cas e, or a track that allows i ndividual
threade d plates to slide along t he length of the
case. The f ree-moving th readed plates allow
precis e positioning of th e module, but each plat e
should be positioned in the approximate relation
to the mount ing holes in your mod ule before
attaching the screws.

Hold the mo dule against the Eur orack rails so
that each of t he mounting holes a re aligned with
a threade d rail or threaded pla te. Attach the
screws p art way to star t, which will allow smal l
adjustm ents to the positi oning while you get
them all alig ned. After the na l position has bee n
established, tighten the screws down.
