Using the KARA-KR1
Getting started:
There are two ways of powering your Bluetooth speaker:
1. Connecting to a power source using the charging adapter provided (DC: 5V / 0.5mA)
2. Charging up the built in battery - Recommended option
Switching on your Bluetooth KARA KR-1:
Press and hold POWER until you hear the KARA KR-1 say “POWER, ON”
Pairing with your Bluetooth KARA KR-1:
Pairing with your Bluetooth KARA KR-1 using a Bluetooth enabled device for the rst time:
1. Once powered on the KARA KR-1 will automatically go into BLUETOOTH PAIRING MODE (Indicated by the Blue light flashing rapidly)
If you are prompted to enter a password, please enter “0000“ - When the speaker is connected, it will
say out loud “Pairing Successfully”
The KARA KR-1 will auto-reconnect to the last device it was paired with if it’s in range. If the KARA
KR-1 has not been connected to a Bluetooth device before, it will make itself visible to Bluetooth
devices nearby which are actively searching
2. Once in BLUETOOTH MODE the KARA KR-1 will say out loud “Bluetooth Mode” to conrm,
followed by “Pairing”. You then need to activate the Bluetooth on your music player device
(iPad, Phone etc.) so that it begins searching for the KARA KR-1 Speakers
3. Once visible, select the speaker on your media player device. It will show up as “AZATOM KR-1”.
Most devices require that you select by either tapping or double tapping the speaker name. Please
see the user manual for your media player device for full instructions on using it to pair to a device
via Bluetooth
Disconnecting from your KARA KR-1:
When you switch off your Bluetooth on your media player device, the KARA KR-1 will let you know its
disconnected by saying out loud “Disconnected”

Pairing to another Bluetooth enabled device:
If you wish to connect / pair to a different device which has not previously been connected / paired
to the KARA KR-1 before, you need to:
1. Switch off or disconnect the Bluetooth on the connected / paired device. This will disconnect the
KARA KR-1 from that device (iPad, Phone etc.)
2. Once disconnected from the previous device, the KARA KR-1 will say out loud “ Disconnected”.
You can press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button until the KARA KR-1 goes into PAIRING MODE
again and It will say “Pairing” to conrm its mode
If you wish to reconnect to a second Bluetooth device which the speaker has already paired with in
the past, the process is the same as above and when the speaker goes into pairing mode it will nd
the second Bluetooth device
Connecting to more than 1 phone for hands-free:
The KARA KR-1 can connect up to 2 phones at the same time.
1. Connect to the rst phone and then to the second as normal, The second phone will now be
connected
2. Now go back to the rst list of Bluetooth devices on the rst phone and select / connect to the
KARA KR-1 (there is no need to do anything on the speaker itself)
3. The KARA KR-1can now operate as a hands-free speaker from both phones, the speaker buttons
will function with the last connected phone
Using your KARA KR-1 as a hands-free device:
When connected to one (or two) phone(s) the KARA KR-1 can operate as a hands-free device.
1. To answer calls, short press the POWER BUTTON(volume can be adjusted on the speaker by
using the volume buttons)
2. A long press of the PLAY/PAUSE button will reject the call
3. During a call short press the PLAY/PAUSE button to hang up
4. Short press the PLAY/PAUSE button twice and it will redial the last number called
Using AUX-IN mode:
The AUX MODE is selected automatically by connecting the AUX cable to the KARA KR-1
You can also press the “M” button until you hear the KARA KR-1 say out loud “AUX Mode”
Connecting a 3.5mm jack cable will prevent the KARA KR-1 from entering Bluetooth mode so please
make sure the cable is disconnected if you wish to use Bluetooth devices with your KARA KR-1
When in AUX Mode, the KARA KR-1 buttons can control the KARA KR-1 but not the device connected
via the cable

ADDITIONAL WARNINGS

Main plug is used to disconnect device and it
should remain readily operable during intended
use. In order to disconnect the apparatus from
the main mains completely, the mains plug
