Frequently Asked Questions

Inquiry: What is to be done if the LED light illuminates however the scanner does not respond to the scan command given by the host computer?

Response: Look at the signal cable and check to see if it is well plugged in, after which you should reissue the command to scan. If there still is no response, the scanner has to be reset, turned off for a while and then back on again along with the host computer. The Avision Driver Kit can also be diagnosed with DIAG.EXE to check for the driver installation.

Question: How can a paper that gets stuck while scanning be resolved?

Answer: The front door of the scanner should be opened and the paper that appears to be stuck should be pulled out without causing much damage. Afterwards the front door of the scanner should be closed tightly.

Question: What could have gone wrong that caused multiple pages to be pulled into the scanner?

Answer: It is advised to fold along the corners and edges so that the paper doesn’t get damaged while putting it back into the guide and that wont cause multiple pages to be pulled in with the scanner again. The front door should be opened and then the scanner pulled over to remove the multi fed paper and closing it again is a must.

Question: In the case where the paper goes off and is not straight, what precautions can be taken?

Answer: The situation can be checked with the help of cleaning kit as proper examination of the feeding roller can also help check why the paper was skewed.

Question: Why does the scanner make noises when turned on and displays it is not ready?

Answer: The scanner shipping retainer may not have been removed. Please ensure that the scanner is situated in a level, flat worktop.

Question: What action should be taken if the indicator does not light while the scanner is turned on?

Answer: You should contact your vendor in case the lamp needs to be swapped out, or if it is malfunctioning. Additionally, remember to examine the fuse located on the main circuit board.

Question: What is the reason for the application not using the scanner although it is powered?

Answer: This appears to be a failure in connection. Make sure to verify the placement of the interface card; look into the signal cable directly and confirm that the driver is properly loaded in the CONFIG.SYS file.

Question: How should one clean the ADF?

Answer: Moisten a cotton swab in 95 percent isopropyl alcohol, and gently clean the upper Feeding Roller. Be careful not to inadvertently damage any components. Additionally, a pad should be cleaned in a single direction from top to bottom.
