Quick Start Guide
Thank you for purchasing Atrust thin client solution.
Read this Quick Start Guide to set up your t170 and access Microsoft,
Citrix, and VMware desktop virtualization services quickly.
For more information, please refer to the User’s Manual for t170.
NOTE: Your warranty will be voided if the warranty seal
on the product is broken or removed.

Assembling the AC Adapter
To assemble the AC adapter for your t170, please do the following:
1. Unpack your thin client package and take out the AC adapter and its detached AC power cord.
2. Press the female end of the power cord into the male connector on the AC adapter.
NOTE: The plug of the supplied power cord
may vary with your area.
Press to power on the thin client. Long press to shut down the thin client. Press to resume from the sleep mode (orange-lighted LED).

Getting Connected
To make connections for Atrust t170, please do the following:
1. Connect USB ports
2. Connect and turn on the monitor(s).
3. Connect the LAN
4. Connect the DC IN

Getting Started
To start using your t170, please do the following:
1. Press the Power button on the front panel of your t170 to turn it on.
2. The client will log in to Windows Embedded Standard with the default standard user account (see next topic for details).

Each time when t170 is started up, the client logs in to Windows Embedded Standard automatically with the prebuilt standard user account as listed above.
FBWF (File-Based Write Filter) Enabled
Your t170 is FBWF-enabled by default. All writes targeted for disk volumes will be redirected to a RAM cache. Therefore, all system changes will only aect the session where the changes are made.
NOTE
• You can change this default setting through the built-in Atrust Client Setup console with an administrator account. To access Atrust Client Setup, click
Start > All Programs > Atrust Client Setup.

Service Access
You can access remote / virtual desktop or application services simply through the default standard shortcuts available on the desktop:
Receiver
Shortcuts Description
Receiver Double click to access Citrix services.
Remote Desktop Connection Double click to access Microsoft Remote Desktop services.
VMware Horizon View Client Double click to access VMware View or Horizon View services.
NOTE
• You can also create and customize the access shortcuts through Atrust Client Setup. For details, please refer to the User’s Manual for t170.

Accessing Citrix Services
To quickly access Citrix services, please do the following:
1. Double click the Receiver shortcut
on the desktop.
2. A window appears prompting for the IP address / URL / FQDN of the server where the Citrix Web Interface is hosted. Click I will enter the URL now.
3. In the opened window, enter the IP address / URL / FQDN of the server, and then click Update.
4. The Logon window appears prompting you to enter the credentials. Enter your credentials, and then click Log On to log in to the server.
5. The application or desktop shortcuts available for the provided credentials will appear on the Start menu. Click the desired item to launch the service.
6. The desired application or desktop will be displayed on the screen.

Changing the IP Address / URL / FQDN of the Server
To change the IP address / URL / FQDN of the remote server where the Citrix Web Interface is hosted, please do the following:
1. Double click the Citrix Receiver icon in the Notication area of the Task bar.
2. In the opened window, click Advanced > Online Plug-in Settings.
3. On the popup menu, click Change Server.
NOTE: Log o sessions from the current server
rst if any.
4. In the opened window, enter the IP address / URL / FQDN of the new server, and then click Update.
5. Click OK to exit.
Accessing Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
To quickly access Remote Desktop services, please do the following:
1. Double click the Remote Desktop Connection shortcut
on the desktop.
2. Enter the name or IP address of the remote computer on the opened window, and then click Connect.
3. Enter your credentials on the opened window, and then click OK.
4. A window may appear with a certicate message about the remote computer. Consult the IT administrator for details and ensure the connection is secure rst. To bypass, click Yes to continue.
5. The remote desktop will be displayed in full-screen.
Accessing VMware View and Horizon View Services
To quickly access VMware View or Horizon View services, please do the following:
1. Double click the VMware Horizon View Client shortcut
on the desktop.
2. A window appears prompting for the name or IP address of the View Connection Server. Enter the required information, and then click Connect.
3. A window may appear with a certicate message about the remote computer. Consult the IT administrator for details and ensure the connection is secure rst. To bypass, click Continue.
4. A window may appear with a Welcome message. Click OK to continue.
5. Enter your credentials on the opened window, and then click Login.
6. A window appears with available desktops for the provided credentials. Click to select the desired desktop, and then click Connect.
7. The desired desktop will be displayed in full-screen.
