Enclosure and Display Module System

The Continuum NEMA 1-style enclosure provides a convenient way to wall-mount an entire Continuum intelligent building system in a single location and is uniquely styled to match your Andover Controls Continuum product line. The enclosure makes initial installation and future change-outs of the Continuum modules quick and easy; provides safety for technicians and protection from environmental elements; and offers convenient front door mounting of the Continuum LED and LCD local display modules.

EASY MODULE INSTALLATION

The six-inch deep enclosure provides room to mount the Continuum NetController CPU, power supply, and up to ten I/O modules on three built-in DIN rails. The DIN rails are attached to a removable steel back plate, which allows you to mount the actual enclosure separately from the Continuum modules. Simply hook each module onto the DIN rail, plug the built-in power/communications connector on the left side of each module into the complimentary connector on the right side of the previous module, and then snap-close the quick-release fasteners to lock the module in place on the rail. It’s that easy!

More I/O modules, if needed, can be located in additional Continuum enclosures. In addition, a single I/O module or groups of I/O modules can be located outside an enclosure, for example, to control a remote door or lighting system. All additional I/O modules are connected to the Continuum system using approved cable and an external 24VDC power supply.

ENCLOSURE DESIGN

The enclosure’s welded design and rugged cold-rolled steel construction ensure durability. Vertical support bars on the inside of the cabinet door provide added rigidity and a built-in door lock guards against tampering. Cable management troughs underneath each DIN rail streamline and protect wiring runs. A bracket for two 12V 7.0 AHr sealed rechargeable batteries is provided at the bottom of the enclosure for UPS support.

FRONT DOOR DISPLAY AND CONTROL MODULES

The front door of the enclosure contains removable sections into which the Continuum display and control modules can be mounted. These modules—the LB-8 LED Bar Module, LS-8 LED 3-Digit Module, LC-1 2-Line Display with optional VM-1 Voice Module, and the GA-40/80 Graphic Annunciator Panels—are secured directly into the back of the door with screws and connected to the I/O bus by a five-conductor cable assembly. The Continuum system simply treats these display modules as additional I/O modules. Up to nine display modules can be mounted on the door. Mix various combinations of display modules to meet your specific operator interface needs. Alternately, the enclosure can be ordered with only three tinted Plexiglas panels in the door. This option allows you to view the status lights of all internal modules when the enclosure door is closed.

LB-8 LED BAR MODULE

8 user-programmable LED ON/OFF indicators

8 user-programmable push-button digital inputs

The LB-8 LED Bar Module provides a cost-effective way to view and modify your facility operation with 8 programmable LED indicators, each with its own programmable companion push-button with audible feedback. The LB-8 is an excellent choice for basic equipment status indication, ON/OFF control, and override capability. Programming the LED indicators and push-buttons is done with Andover Controls Plain English® programming language. Labels above each LED and companion push-button allow you to customize each I/O point.

LS-8 LED 3-DIGIT DISPLAY MODULE

8 user-programmable, 3-digit, 7-segment LED displays with floating decimal point

8 user-programmable up/down arrow push-button digital inputs

The LS-8 LED 3-Digit Display Module combines eight 3-digit 7-segment LED displays with 8 companion up/down arrow pushbuttons. Use the LEDs to display building parameters such as temperature, airflow, humidity, or occupancy status. The up/down arrow push-buttons with audible feedback allow an operator to turn equipment on and off, change set points, air balance VAV boxes, adjust override time, arm and disarm a security system, etc. Programming the LED displays and up/down push buttons is done with Andover Controls Plain English® programming language. Labels above each LED and companion push-button allow you to customize each I/O point.

LC-1 2-LINE DISPLAY

16 character by 2 line LCD display with backlighting

12-button programmable keypad

Optional VM-1 Voice Module

Similar functionality to Infinity Infistat Display Interface

The LC-1 Display Module features a 16 character by 2 line LCD display with backlighting and a 12-button ergonomically designed programmable keypad—up/down left/right arrows for LCD cursor control, Enter and Cancel push-buttons, and 6 userprogrammable functions keys. With one touch of a finger, you can scroll through building parameters such as temperatures or pressures, view equipment status, change setpoints and schedules, turn equipment on and off, or air balance VAV boxes. The keys can also be programmed to perform a wide variety of functions, including switching a specific zone to occupied mode, signaling an alarm condition, adjusting the amount of override time, arming and disarming a security system, and enforcing password security. Programming the display and function keys is done with Andover Controls Plain English® programming language. A label window above the six functions keys is provided.

The LC-1 interfaces to the optional VM-1 Voice Module.
