GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The AD54251 is a CMOS, 8-bit, current output digital-toanalog converter that operates from a 2.5 V to 5.5 V power supply, making it suitable for battery-powered applications and many other applications.
This DAC utilizes a double buffered, 3-wire serial interface that
is compatible with SPI interface standards. An
allows simultaneous updates in a multi-DAC configuration. On power-up, the internal shift register and latches are filled with 0s and the DAC outputs are 0 V.
As a result of manufacturing on a CMOS submicron process, this DAC offers excellent 4-quadrant multiplication characteristics with large signal multiplying bandwidths of 10 MHz.
The applied external reference input voltage (V the full-scale output current. An integrated feedback resistor, R
, provides temperature tracking and full-scale voltage output
FB
when combined with an external I-to-V precision amplifier.
The AD5425 is available in a small, 10-lead MSOP package.

Stresses above those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. This is a stress rating only and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions above those listed in the operational sections of this specification is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability. Only one absolute maximum rating may be applied at any one time.

ESD CAUTION

ESD (electrostatic discharge) sensitive device. Electrostatic charges as high as 4000 V readily accumulate on the human body and test equipment and can discharge without detection. Although this product features proprietary ESD protection circuitry, permanent damage may occur on devices subjected to high energy electrostatic discharges. Therefore, proper ESD precautions are recommended to avoid performance degradation or loss of functionality.
