Chapter 1
Overview
The AT-MCM02 is an optional management module for the AT-MCF06,
AT-MCF12, AT-MCF106, and AT-MCF112 Series Multichannel Media
Converters. When installed, the AT-MCM02 module allows you to monitor the
operating status of the media converter from a management station on your
network using either the Telnet application protocol or an SNMP
management program. The module also allows you to monitor a media
converter by directly connecting a terminal or PC to a management port on
the media converter. The AT-MCM02 module allows you to do the following:
❑ Check the link status of the fiber optic and twisted pair ports on the
media converter.
❑ Override the Link Test switch on the media converter and either start
or stop a link test.
❑ Reset the media converter channels.
❑ Download a new version of the media converter’s operating software.
Note
For instructions on how to install the media converter, refer to the
installation guide provided with the media converter.
