The Alcatel-Lucent 8610 Instant Convergent Charging (ICC) Suite is the key component of the Alcatel-Lucent
Convergent Payment solution. Deployed in over 200 service providers and serving an estimated 400 million
subscribers, the Convergent Payment solution is proven, industry-leading and highly configurable.
The Alcatel-Lucent 8610 ICC Suite
provides a centralized rating, charging
and mediation capability to simultaneously support unique tariff plans for:
• Wireless and wireline networks,
including 2G, 2.5G, 3G, IMS, NGN,
CDMA, GSM and PSTN
• Voice, SMS, data , video, content/
commerce services
• Prepaid, postpaid and hybrid accounts
These plans help service providers to
maximize the available yield from their
subscriber base.
The Alcatel-Lucent 8610 ICC Suite and
its associated Convergent Rating
Engine enable service providers to be
extremely flexible. Through its unique
drag-and-drop decision tree-based
graphical user interface (GUI), service
providers are quickly able to mix and
match tariff plans with products, bundles,
discounts, promotions and telco usagebased loyalty plans. Tariff plans can be
deployed in as little as a few days, providing immediate responsiveness to
competitors. These tariff plans can be
a mixture of prepaid/ postpaid
wireless, wireline, personal and
business services. For example, a
subscriber may be the prime on a
postpaid family account, while their
children are on a prepaid program on
the same account.
In addition, the Alcatel-Lucent 8610
ICC Convergent Rating Engine (CRE)
integrates a flexible on-line service
creation environment. Providing
additional advanced configuration
capabilities to improve service deployment time, the CRE allows service
behavior customization without
software recompilation.
Configuration is also made easier with
the product catalog feature, which
allows service providers to select the
individual service products and bundles
that will be incorporated into a unique
tariff plan.
The Alcatel-Lucent 8610 ICC Suite also
supports a full range of “community
capabilities”, enabling services concepts
such as “Pay for me”, closed user groups,
friends and family and advanced
communities, targeting churn reduction
and efficient market segmentation.
Deployed on industry-standard IT-based
platforms, the Alcatel-Lucent 8610 ICC
Suite easily integrates with wireless
and fixed networks through IP-based
infrastructure as well as more traditional IN-based networks.
