WHEN TO USE THIS DOCUMENT
Use this Quick Start Guide if you are
loading T-Watch Pro for the first time or
upgrading your software from T-Watch to
T-Watch Pro.
T-WATCH PRO OVERVIEW
T-Watch Pro is a PC-based management
software package for the TSU/TDU/HSU
series of T1/FT1 DSU/CSUs. T-Watch
Pro allows the user to configure multiple
TSU/HSU devices from a single central
control point, including the T1 network interface and all module data terminal
equipment (DTE) interface parameters.
Through comprehensive network monitor
functions, T-Watch Pro automatically collects alarm conditions and/or unit status
information from any of the remotely located TSUs. While performance data
may be obtained manually from each
TSU, automatic performance monitoring

allows each TSU to be polled daily for
performance information at a user-specified time. T-Watch Pro also allows the
user to retrieve the current status and
performance data at any time.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
To run T-Watch Pro, your computer must
have the following settings:
• 386 (or higher) IBM PC or compatible
• Windows NT, or Windows 95, 98, or
2000 operating system
• CD-ROM drive
• EGA, VGA, Hercules, or compatible
monitor
•Mouse
• 8 megabytes memory
• 5 megabytes free disk space

• CD-ROM with the T-Watch Pro software
• Two RJ-45 to DB-25 adapters (not included if you are upgrading from a previous version of T-Watch)

INSTALLING T-WATCH PRO
To load T-Watch Pro, follow these steps:
1. Insert CD-ROM in CD-ROM drive.
2. Installation process should start
automatically. If it does not, execute
setup.exe from the CD-ROM (follow
the steps shown on the screen).
3. When the T-Watch Setup dialog box
appears, the software displays the
default directory location for the software (c:\TWATCH). Select Continue
to load the software to this directory,
or type the name of another directory.
4. Click Finish. T-Watch Pro is installed
and the T-Watch Pro program group
is created.

STARTING T-WATCH PRO
To start T-Watch Pro, follow these steps:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Select Programs; then select
T-Watch Pro.
3. Select the T-Watch Pro option. The
T-Watch Pro main screen displays.
INSTALLING HARDWARE
The On-Line Help file provides detailed
instructions on TSU/HSU networking and
installing hardware (such as a modem).
To access this information, select Getting
Started from the Help file Table of Contents.

HOW TO USE ON-LINE HELP
T-Watch Pro documentation is delivered
on-line as a Windows Help file. To access
the documentation, follow these steps:
In Windows NT:
1. Access the Program Manager
2. Open the T-Watch program group.
3. Double-click the T-Watch Help icon.
In Windows 95/98:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Click Programs; then click T-Watch.
3. Click TWATCH.HLP .

The Help file contains a number of features designed to make it easier for you to
find the information you need.
• Press F1 while working inside any TWatch Pro dialog box to display Help
for the command.
• Click the Find button to activate the fulltext-search utility, which allows you to
search for any word in the Help file.
• Click the Search button to display a
complete index of the on-line document.
