Your New Washing Machine
Your new washing machine meets all modern requirements for effective treatment of laundry with low water, energy and detergent consumption.
Even small loads are washed “economically” because the amount of water used is regulated automatically according to the load and type of fabric.
Automatic cooling of the wash water to 60°C
before draining, with the 95°C programme. This reduces thermal shock to fabrics, helping to prevent creasing.
The special wool programme with its new delicate wash system treats your woollens with extreme care.
The balance control device ensures that the washing machine remains stable when spinning.
Ecological hints
To save water and energy and help protect the environment, we recommend that you follow these hints:
Normally soiled laundry may be washed without prewashing in order to save detergent, water and time (the environment is protected too!).
The machine works more economically if it is fully loaded.
With adequate pre-treatment, stains and limited soiling can be removed; the laundry can then be washed at a lower temperature.
Measure out detergent according to the water hardness, the degree of soiling and the quantity of laundry being washed.
In the interest of the environment
Materials marked with the symbol are recyclable.
Check with your local Council or Environmental Health Office to see if there are facilities in your area for re-cycling this appliance.
When the appliance is to be scrapped, cut off the power supply cable and make the door lock device unusable to prevent young children from being trapped inside.
Help to keep your country tidy - use authorised disposal sites for your old appliance.
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
How do we help to protect the environment? We use recycled paper!
Important
Your machine is fitted with a balance control device, which ensures the machine is stable during the spin. If the wash load appears not to have been spun sufficiently at the end of the wash cycle, because it is not evenly distributed in the drum, the balance control device may have operated. It will therefore be necessary to redistribute the wash load manually and select a spin programme. For more detailed information see the section headed “Something Not Working”.

3 “Spin” button
Press this button repeatedly to change the spin speed, if you want your laundry to be spun at a speed different from the one proposed by the washing machine or to choose the “Rinse Hold” option. The relevant light will light up.
Maximum speeds for the different models are:
for cottons: 1100 rpm for ZWF 1111 W and 1300

for synthetics fabrics and Wool: 900 rpm;for
for delicate fabrics and Mini 30°: 700 rpm.
“Rinse Hold” position: when you choose this option, the machine will not drain the water of the last rinse, so as not to crease the laundry.
At the end of the cycle, the light of the “Start/Pause” button goes out, the “End cycle” light illuminates and the “Door” light stays on (the door is locked) to indicate that the water must be drained. A flashing zero appears on the display.

On cotton and synthetic programmes the rinses will be performed with more water.
At the end of the cycle, the door is locked, the light of the “Start/Pause” button goes out, the “End cycle” light illuminates, the light of “Night Cycle” button and the “Door” light remain lit to indicate that the water must be drained and a flashing zero will appear on the display .
T o complete the cycle, there are 2 possibilities for emptying out water:
• Select programme “Drain”: the water is emptied out without spinning.
• Select programme “Spin”. Select the spin speed by means of the relevant button and then depress the Start/Pause button. The water is emptied out and the laundry is spun at the selected spin speed.

The prewash ends with a short spin in programmes for cotton and synthetic fabrics, whereas in the programme for delicate fabrics the water is only drained.
Quick: select this option for laundry that is only
slightly soiled (not available for Wool, Mini 30°
and E-programmes).
The washing time will be reduced according to the type of fabric and the selected temperature.
Extra rinse: This option can be selected with all
programmes, except the wool programmes and Mini 30°. The machine will add 2 rinses to the selected programme. This option is recommended for people who are allergic to detergents, and areas where the water is very soft.
The Prewash, the Quick and the Extra rinse options cannot be selected together by means of the relevant button.
7 Display
The following pieces of information are shown on the display:
Duration of washing programme in hours and
minutes, after you have selected a programme.
2.05
While the programme is running (after you have
pressed the “Start/Pause” button), the displayed time value decreases by one unit every minute.
Select this option to reduce water consumption on the rinse cycle when washing ONLY a smaller load of cottons or linens (maximum load size = 2,5 kg). The machine perform 2 rinses instead of 3.
6 “Option” button
Press this button to select the following options:
Prewash: select this option if you wish your laundry
to be prewashed before the main wash (not available for Wool and Mini 30° programmes).
The washing machine has stopped with water in
the tub, at the end of a programme with the “Rinse Hold” or “Night Cycle
option: this is indicated by a flashing zero. The “Door” light will be lit and the door will be locked.
The washing machine has completed the programme: this is indicated by a flashing zero. The zero will reappear when you switch the washing machine on, unless the previous programme has been erased by turning the programme selector dial to the “O” Off position. The “Door” light will be off and the door can be opened.

The incorrect selection is also indicated by an audible
warning signal.
An alarm code indicates a fault in the machine operation (see the relevant chapter on page 20).
Important! The first time you use the washing machine, when
you switch it on, it may display a flashing zero and give an audible warning signal. This is due to the fact that the washing machine has performed a washing cycle during the manufacturer’s inspection tests, and this cycle has not been erased after its completion.
Delay start, a time value indicated in hours and
selected by means of the relevant button (max 23 hours).
The delay time is displayed for 3 seconds, then the duration of the selected programme reappears. After you have pressed the “Start/Pause” button, the countdown begins, and the delay time value decreases by one unit every hour and then, when 2 hours remain, the time decreases in 30 minute intervals. You can delay the start of the selected programme by up to 23 hours in one hour intervals.
