alcohol wipe, or a glass cleaner such as
Windex. Do not use abrasive materials on
the glass surfaces.
CAUTION:

gas or steam autoclave, or by soaking in
disinfecting solutions. To insure proper
operation, all service (with the exception of
lamp replacement and cleaning) should be
performed by Welch Allyn.

instrument has been in use, it should sit for
five minutes before changing the lamp.

To change the lamp, remove the
StrabismoScope from its power source.
Remove the lamp from the base of the
instrument by prying out with fingernail,
nail file, or other instrument.

IF a phoria is diagnosed, referral to a specialist
is indicated if the phoria is large or vertical and
the patient is experiencing headaches or vision
problems. Many patients have small phorias and
these may be no cause for concern, if other
symptoms are not present.

for the eye to return to its initial
position. Repeat over the other eye.

the toys and targets that are used.
3. If possible, perform this test with the patient
focusing at both near and distant targets.
This easy to understand guide is available as a
laminated wall poster and is free with your purchase
of the StrabismoScope. To receive the poster, return
the enclosed coupon.
