Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Spin ‘n Teach Tree! Your child will love to learn letters, words, counting and lots more with
Winnie the Pooh and the Spin ‘n Teach Tree! A fun letter dial with 26 letters helps teach preschoolers the alphabet. Fun animations on the LCD screen guide through adventures and activities that help improve memory skills and introduce age-appropriate curriculum. Three exciting activities with fun-filled mini games, fun sounds and cheerful melodies ensure that the learning and fun never end!

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover at the back of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 3 new ‘AAA’ (UM4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.

BATTERY NOTICE
Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage.
Do not mix old and new batteries.
Do not use batteries of different types.
Remove batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (nickel­cadmium) batteries.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES.

To begin play, press the ON/OFF
BUTTON. Winnie the Pooh will greet
you and start the “Letters and Words” activity.

Press one of the 3 ACTIVITY BUTTONS to choose an activity to play.
Spin the LETTER DIAL to select a letter. Turn to the music symbol ( ) to hear a cheerful melody. Move the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE left or right to hear a different melody.
Use the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE to control Pooh’s movements on the screen or to select your answer in related activities.
Press the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON to confirm your selection.
Press the ON/OFF BUTTON again to turn the unit off.

AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Spin ‘n Teach Tree will automatically turn off after several minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the ON/OFF BUTTON.
ACTIVITIES
1. Letters and Words
In this activity, select a letter and Pooh will teach you the letter name and a word that begins with that letter. Then, Pooh will ask you to help him find the letter or related object in the Hundred Acre Wood. Using the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE, help guide Pooh on the screen until you find the letter or object.
2. Counting
In this activity, Pooh will ask you to help him collect a certain number of objects. The objects that you need to help Pooh collect will depend on which letter you have selected using the LETTER DIAL. Using the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE and the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON, choose a place to start playing. Use the LETTER DIAL to choose a different object to collect.

Counting 1: Up, up, up we go!
Pooh is floating up in the sky with a balloon. Some objects are falling past him. Use the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE to move Pooh left, right, up or down to collect the correct number of objects.
Counting 2: Fishing Fun
Pooh is fishing with his friend Piglet. Some objects are moving under their boat. To collect the objects, move the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE down or press the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON when the required object is highlighted. Move the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE left or right to move to another object.
Counting 3: Turning Cards
Pooh and his friends are walking around with cards. Watch carefully as they flip the cards over to show an object. Press the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON when you see the correct object to collect it. Watch carefully!
3. Game Time
Pooh will invite you to play some fun games with him! Using the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE and the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON, choose one of the three different games to start playing.
Game 1: Complete the Puzzle
A picture is broken into four puzzle pieces. Make the picture complete again by using the HONEY
POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE and the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON to select two puzzle pieces
and swap them.

Game 2: Spin and Match
Three objects will be shown in a row. One of the objects is different. Using the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE to move through the objects or using the LETTER DIAL, select the correct object to find a match. Press the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER
BUTTON to confirm your choice.
Game 3: Hide and Seek
A bee will hide in one of the three honey pots. Watch carefully as the pots are moved around. Can you find it? Use the HONEY POT DIRECTIONAL MOUSE to choose a honey pot and use the WINNIE THE POOH ENTER BUTTON to confirm your answer.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow these steps:
1. Turn the unit off.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit on. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
