GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit. Use a coin or a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
3. Install 3 new ‘AA’ (AM-3/LR6) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box.
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure the battery cover.
BATTERY NOTICE
• Install batteries correctly observing the polarity (+, -) signs to avoid leakage.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix batteries of different types: alkaline, standard (carbon­zinc) or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium).
• Remove the batteries from the equipment when the unit will not be used for an extended period of time.
• Always remove exhausted batteries from the equipment.

• Do not dispose of batteries in re.
• Do not attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• Only batteries of the same and equivalent type as recommended are to be used.

To ensure your child’s safety, please only assemble this product by an adult.
To attach the carriage to the engine, insert it into the slot at the back of engine. You will hear a click, which lets you know the carriage is attached correctly.
To detach the carriage from the engine, push the blue button at the end of the engine in and then push it up. Once the button is pushed up, pull the carriage from the slot.

To turn the unit ON, slide the red
ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH
located at the top of the engine to the Learning Mode ( ) or Discovery Mo d e ( ) po siti o n . To tur n th e unit OFF, slide the ON/OFF/MODE SELECTOR SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position.
2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To ad j u s t th e vo l u me, slide the
VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH located at the back of the engine to the LOW VO LUM E or the HIGH VOLU ME position.
3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Sit-to-Stand Alphabet Train™
will automatically power-down after approximately 45 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.

4. Turn the book’s pages to learn about letters and objects and listen to fun stories in both modes. The lights will

5. Place the blocks onto the train’s block slots to learn letters and objects in both modes. Upbeat melodies and fun sounds will accompany the play. The
lights will ash with the sounds.
6. Drop the blocks into the slot at the top of the train and they’ll slide out the back!
7. If there is no input to the unit after approximately 15 seconds, you will hear a fun sung song. After another 15 seconds if there is still no input, you will hear a question, which will encourage the child to
nd the correct block according to the book page. After another 15
seconds if there is still no input, you will hear the phrase “Bye-bye,” then the unit will automatically power-down.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit and book pages clean by wiping with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
