2. General Safety Rules

• Handle the distance meter with care. Keep it dry and clean, and avoid shocks, extreme temperatures, dust and water.

• Switch off the distance meter when not in use. Remove the batteries from the meter when not in use for a long period of

time.

• Keep the device away from children and unauthorised users.

4. Battery Installation

Use a fresh alkaline battery to ensure accurate measurements. Replace the battery when the symbol appears on the
display.

• Open the battery cover at the back of the meter using an appropriate Phillips-head screwdriver. You may need to

remove the belt clip.

• Remove the old battery and insert a new one.

• Close the battery cover and slide the belt clip into place.

5. Use

• Activating/Deactivating the Meter

Press the on/off key to activate or to deactivate the meter. The device is sensitive to changes in temperature and
humidity. Wait ± 15 minutes and let the device reach room temperature prior to use. Note that the backlight will
automatically switch off after ± 5 seconds. The meter itself will automatically switch off after ± 1 minute of inactivity.

• Measuring Distance

Select the measurement mode. Use the Fm measurement mode when measuring distance from where you are
standing. Use the Bm measurement mode to measure distance from wall to wall. To do so, press the Fm/Bm key,
place the back of the meter against the wall and press the READ key.

• Calculating an Area

This function can be used to measure the surface area of a room. Press the area measurement key. Measure the
length of the room first (displayed upper value). Now, measure the width of the room. The surface area will appear as
the lower value (in m² or ft²).

• Calculating a Volume

This function can be used to measure the volume of a room. Press the volume measurement key. Measure the
length of the room first (displayed upper value). Now, measure the width of the room (displayed upper value). Finally,
measure the height of the room. The volume will appear as the lower value (in m³ or ft³).

• Adding Up Distances

This function can be used to add different measured distances. Press the addition key first and measure your
different distances. The meter will add the distance to the previous value as you measure. Note that the maximum
distance is 100m or 100ft.

• Storing Measurements

This meter has 5 memory sets. Measure a distance, surface area or volume and press STORE. Note that a value
cannot be overwritten when all sets are occupied. Erase the memory first by holding the ESC/CLEAR key pressed for
a few seconds.

• Recalling Stored Data

Press the RECALL key. Note that when recalling a surface area or a volume all distances have been memoriz ed
separately. Press several times to recall the length, the width and the height separately.

• Clearing Data

Press ESC/CLEAR to clear the read out. Hold ESC/CLEAR pressed for 3 seconds to clear the memory .

6. Remarks

• For accurate results, choose a surface which is flat and as large as possible. Note that this distance meter cannot

measure the distance of an object through glass although the laser will reach the object to be measured. Measuring is
done through ultrasonic waves and not through the laser.

• Air flows can affect the read out when measuring a distance than 12m.

• Temperature and humidity can affect the speed of sound. Therefore, respect the environmental conditions (see

“Technical Specifications”).

• Choose your measurement units (metre or feet) prior to measuring or calculating.

• NEVER POINT THE LASER AT EYES.

4. Batterij installeren

Gebruik een nieuwe alkalinebatterij om nauwkeurige metingen te garanderen. Vervang de batterij wanneer het ­symbool op het scherm verschijnt.

• Open het batterijvak met behulp van een gepaste kruiskopschroevendraaier. Verwijder eerst de riemclip indien nodig.

• Verwijder de oude batterij en vervang ze door een nieuwe.

• Sluit het batterijvak en schuif de riemclip terug op zijn plaats.

5. Gebruik

• De meter in-/uitschakelen

Druk op om de meter in of uit te schakelen. De meter is gevoelig aan veranderingen in temperatuur en
vochtigheid. Wacht ± 15 minuten alvorens het toestel te gebruiken. De achtergrondverlichting schakelt zichzelf uit na
± 5 seconden. De meter sc hakelt zichzelf uit na ± 1 minuut inactiviteit.

• Afstanden meten

Selecteer de meetmodus. Gebruik de Fm-meetmodus om afstanden te meten vanaf de plaats waar u staat. Gebruik
de Bm-meetmodus om een afstand tussen twee muren te meten. Druk hiervoor op Fm/Bm, plaats het onderste
gedeelte van de meter tegen de muur en druk op READ.

• Een oppervlakte meten

Druk op de toets om de oppervlakte te berekenen. Meet eerst de lengte van de ruimte (bovenste waarde). Meet nu
de breedte van de ruimte. Lees de oppervlakte af als de onderste waarde (in m² of ft²).

• Een volume meten

Druk op de toets om het volume te berekenen. Meet eerst de lengte van de ruimte (bovenste waarde). Meet nu de
breedte van de ruimte (bovenste waarde). Meet ten slotte de hoogte van de ruimte. Lees het volume af als de
onderste waarde (in m² of ft²).

• Afstanden optellen

Druk op de toets om afstanden op te tellen. De meter telt de afstanden op naargelang u de afstanden meet. De
maximale totale afstand bedraagt 100m of 100ft.

• Metingen in het geheugen opslaan

Deze meter heeft 5 geheugensets. Meet een afstand, een oppervlakte of een volume. Druk op STORE. Opgelet: Een
opgeslagen waarde kan niet overschreven worden indien het geheugen vol is. Wis dus eerst het geheugen door
ESC/CLEAR 3 seconden ingedrukt te houden.

• Opgeslagen data terugroepen

Druk op RECALL. Merk op dat de afstanden voor een oppervlakte en een volume afzonderlijk zijn opgeslagen. Druk
verscheidene malen op RECALL om de afzonderlijke afstanden op te roepen en om naar de volgende geheugenset
over te schakelen.

• Het geheugen wissen

Druk op ESC/CLEAR om het lcd-scherm te wissen. Houd ESC/CLEAR gedurende 3 seconden ingedrukt om het
geheugen te wissen.

6. Opmerkingen

• Richt de laserstraal naar een vlak en zo groot mogelijk oppervlak. Hoewel de laserstraal door glas heen gaat, kan deze

meter geen afstanden meten wanneer het object zich achter glas bevindt. De laser dient enkel om te richten. De meting
gebeurt met behulp van geluidsgolven.

• Luchtstromen kunnen de uitlezing beïnvloeden bij afstanden groter dan 12m.

• Temperatuur en vochtigheid kunnen de geluidssnelheid beïnvloeden. Respecteer daarom de gebruiksvoorwaarden (zie

‘Technische specificaties’).

• Selecteer eerst de meeteenheden (meter of voet) alvorens de meting te verrichten.

• RICHT DE LASERSTRAAL NOOIT NAAR DE OGEN.

4. Installation de la pile

Utiliser une pile alcaline pour garantir des résultats précis. Remplacer la pile dès que le symbole apparaît.

• Ouvrir le compartiment de la pile à l’arrière de l’appareil à l’aide d’un tournevis cruciforme approprié. Retirer l’attache-

ceinture si nécessaire.

• Retirer l’ancienne pile et la remplacer avec une nouvelle.

• Refermer le compartiment de la pile et glisser l’attache-ceinture en place.

5. Emploi

• Activation/désactivation du mètre

Laser classe II. EN 60825-1:1994+A2:2001+A1:2002.

Enfoncer la touche marche/arrêt pour activer ou désactiver le mètre. Le mètre est très sensible aux changements de
température et d’humidité. Patienter ± 15 minutes et laisser le mètre s’acclimater à l’environnement avant usage. Le
rétro-éclairage s’éteindra automatiquement après une inactivité de ± 5 seconds. Le mètre s’éteindra
automatiquement après une inactivité de ± 1.
