1. Introduction & Features

Thank you for buying a Velleman product! This wireless home alarm system uses an advanced microprocessor and SMD technology. Please read the manual thoroughly before bringing this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, don't install or use it and contact your dealer.

2. Installation

Follow these steps to install the central unit onto a wall and to do the wiring:

• Open the central unit by unscrewing the 2 screws at the front.

• Fix the back plate of the central unit onto the wall. Remember to first pull all the necessary wiring (cables from

the power supply, sensors siren and telephone line) through the punched hole. Screw the back plate onto the wall.

• Do all the necessary wiring onto the terminal blocks (see “3. Connection”).

• Connect the stand-by battery.

• Screw the front plate onto the back plate and close the unit.

3. Connection

• Telephone line: Connect an existing telephone line to RJ45 connector. Remark: If there is no telephone line

connected, the central will display a message (“PATh TROUBLE”) and emit a sound when the alarm is triggered. This message can be deactivated by putting all telephone numbers on “0” when programming the central unit.

• Power supply: Connect the included power adapter to the 12VDC/1A input. This power supply will also

automatically charge the internal stand-by battery, which will supply power when the current is cut off. The central unit will emit a sound when this internal battery is drained.

• Terminals 1 through 8:

o Terminals 1 and 2: 12VDC power supply output. This output has a constant power of 12V and can be used

to power the external sensors. Attention: terminal 1 = +; terminal 2 = - (GND).

o Terminals 3 and 4: Connection for the external siren (12VDC, 800mA). Attention: terminal 3 = - (GND)

(black wire); terminal 4 = + (red wire).

o Terminals 5 through 8: Connections for 4 external wired sensors. These sensors must be of the NC type

(NC: normally closed). Terminal 5 through 8 are assigned to ARM ZONE 1 through ARM ZONE 4. Connect the second wire of the sensor to the ground (-) of the central unit (terminal 2 or 3). Wireless sensors will be assigned to ARM ZONE 5 through ARM ZONE 12.

Important remark concerning terminals 5 through 8: Connect each unused terminal to the ground (-)

(=terminal 2 or terminal 3) so as to not send false signals to the central unit.

4. Alarm Unit

a. Codes

The system uses 2 security codes which can be modified by the user. The First code is the system code. This code will be used to enter the programming mode of the unit. It is the most important code since without it the user will not be able to program and to modify other codes. Keep this code in a secure place. The default value is “000000”. The second code is the user code. This code will be used to deactivate the alarm system (DISARM). The default value is “1234”.

st” will be displayed. To enter the programming mode or the settings, activate the DISARM mode first.

b. Deactivating the alarm system (DISARM)

Deactivate the alarm system (DISARM) by entering the user code.

Example:

The “DISARM st” message will be displayed and you will hear the vocal message “System disarmed”. Note that the system will not react to an intrusion trigger signal. It will only react to a SMOKE, GAS or PANIC signal (24h-alarm).

c. Activating the alarm system

There are two ways to activate the alarm system.

1. AWAY activation:

The system reacts to all connected and programmed sensors. The message “ARM st” will be displayed and you will hear the vocal message “System armed”. Activate the system by pressing the AWAY button.

2. HOME activation:

This mode will only secure programmed zones while other will not be covered by the system. This allows the user to freely access some zones without triggering the alarm. The message “GUARD st” will be displayed and the vocal message “System armed” will be heard. Activate the system by pressing the HOME button.

REMARK: Sensors programmed for fire, gas or panic detection (24h-function) will remain activated, even

when the system is in DISARM mode.

d. Entering the programming mode

To enter the programming mode, put the central unit in DISARM mode first and press the SET button. The message “INPUT LEVEL” will be displayed. Enter the system code (6 characters), followed by a press of the # button to confirm.

Sys level: The message “Input sys level” will be displayed. The user can modify the system code to a personal code (default “000000”). The code must consist of 6 characters and must be confirmed with the # button. The user will be directed to the previous menu with a correct input.

 “Zone” Menu

In the “Zone” menu each alarm zone (zone 01-12) can be separately assigned to a specific alarm type or deactivate an alarm zone. Enter the zone number. The message “Input arm zone” will be displayed. The entered value must be between 01 and 12. Confirm with the # button.

Remark: The first 4 zones (arm zone 1 - arm zone 4) are assigned to the sensors connected to terminals

Next, choose between 4 different alarm types for each zone.

User level: The message “Input user level” will be displayed. The user can modify the user code to a personal code (default “1234”). The code must consist of 4 characters and must be confirmed with the # button. The user will be directed to the previous menu with a correct input.

This menu will not be used.

Arm report: A report is sent to the central unit.

No report: No report is sent to the central unit.

This menu will be used to program the time needed for the alarm system to activate from the time the user engages the system (in AWAY mode only). This delay will give the user enough time to leave the secured zones before the alarm is triggered.

Time setting from 0 ~ 99 seconds

Example:

In this example, the delay has been set to 8 seconds in which the user will leave the secured zones before triggering the alarm. The unit will emit a beep every second. Note that the delay time always consists of 2 digits. Confirm with the # button.

This “Setup” menu has following submenus:

 Submenu 1 - Alert

 Submenu 2 - Home

The alarm will immediately be triggered and the central unit will display a message. This mode is suited for window sensors. The message “SECURITY ALARM” will be displayed when the alarm is triggered.

Same alarm mode as above but with a programmable delay. The central unit will wait until the delay has expired before triggering the alarm. This mode allows the user to deactivate the alarm first when entering a secured zone. The message “SECURITY ALARM” will be displayed.

Remark: The instant and delay modes can only be used in ARMED mode.

This mode will not be used as an intrusion alarm but rather as a smoke, gas or panic alarm. The alarm can also be triggered when the system is in DISARMED mode. This mode will display 3 message types.

3.Panic

1. Smoke: smoke alarm; 2. Gas: gas alarm; 3. Panic: panic alarm

The alarm zone has been deactivated.

Here, the user can program the alarm time. The connected siren will sound when the alarm is triggered. The message “Set alarm time” will be displayed. The value must be between 0 and 999 seconds. Make sure to enter 3 digits: enter a time of 9 seconds as “009”.Confirm with the # button.

This menu is used to program which zones will be deactivated in HOME mode. The user will be able to move freely in each of the deactivated zones without triggering the alarm.

Enter the zone to be deactivated and confirm with the # button and do so for each additional zone. Return to the previous menu by pressing the * button after having entered all the desired zones.

This menu is used to program the telephone numbers to dial when the alarm is triggered. The number must consist of minimum 3 and maximum 13 digits. The message “PATh TROUBLE” will be displayed and a sound will be heard when the system has a faulty connection.

Enter the value “o” when the telephone number does not need to be dialled.

Menu used to program the number of calls. The default value is 3 times. Enter a number and confirm with the # button.

 Vibrant ring

Menu used to program the number of rings before the telephone (connected to the central unit) will switch to the “Remotely Controlling the Central Unit” function (see below). The default value is 8 rings. Enter a number from 01 to 99 and confirm with the # button.

Press button 4 (del home) in the SETUP menu to erase all the zones assigned to the HOME mode (or GUARD st). The previous menu will be displayed next.

 “Study” Menu

This menu is used to program all the remote controls and wireless sensors into the system.

Possibility to program up to 4 different remote controls.

Select a remote by pressing a number (1 ~ 4) and confirm with the # button. The central unit will display following message:

Next, press any button on the remote control. The central unit will emit a short beep and display the previous menu. The remote control has bee saved into the system. Repeat previous steps to save more remotes.

 Submenu 2 – Arm zone

This menu will be used to program up to 8 wireless sensors and to assign each of them to a particular zone.

Select your zone (armzone 05 up to armzone 12). Zones 1 through 4 are reserved for wired sensors (terminal 5 ~ terminal 8 onto the PCB). Confirm with the # button. Following message will be displayed:

Next, activate the sensor. The central will emit a short beep and display the previous menu. The sensor has been assigned to its zone. Repeat previous steps to assign more sensors.

 Submenu 3 – Del

The Del menu is used to erase all saved remote controls and sensors.

g. Alarm Messages through the Telephone

The central unit will dial the programmed telephone numbers when the alarm is triggered. Short beeps will be heard (the number depends on the number programmed in “dial times”). The user will hear the vocal message upon answering the telephone. Press the # button on the telephone to make the central unit stop calling.

h. Remotely Controlling the Central Unit

The central unit can be remotely switched on and off. To do so, dial the number of the telephone line connected to the unit. The alarm unit will answer the call after the number of rings programmed in “vibrant ring”. Press the user code first and confirm with #, followed by 1 to enter the ARM mode 2 to enter the DISARM mode 3 to listen to built-in microphone of the central unit 4 to cancel the call.

5. Commands on the Remote Control and the Help Alarm

The 4-key remote control will be encoded automatically. The commands can be used as soon as the remote control is saved into the system:

• DISARM: alarm system deactivation

• HOME ARM: entering the HOME or GUARD

mode

• AWAY ARM: entering the AWAY mode

• HELP: panic function activation

Remark: Follow these steps to assign a different code when 2 or mode remote controls have been encoded

similarly:

Open the remote control by unscrewing the screw at the back. Remove the battery. Hold any key on the remote control pressed and reinstall the battery. The LED on the remote control will blink. Release the pressed key. The remote control has learned a new address. Close the remote control and reprogram into the system.

Press the panic button on the help remote thrice to activate the panic alarm.

6. The PIR Sensor

Open the motion sensor by unscrewing the 3 screws at the back. The PIR sensor can detect motion in 2 ways. By setting the jumper in the first mode (1x) the sensor will trigger the alarm immediately after detecting motion. By setting the jumper in the second mode (2x) the sensor will wait for a second motion detection after the first one. This mode can be used to reduce the detection of motion caused by house pets.

Next, address the sensor. To define the origin of the signal, the address must be different than the address of the all other sensors.

Install a 9V battery and close the sensor. Wait for ± 60 seconds until the sensor has stabilised. Now, program and assign the sensor to a zone through the menus of the central unit.

Remark:

o The LED will blink when the battery is almost drained (<7V). o Do not install the sensor onto a metal support or plate. o Keep the sensor away from direct sunlight and temperature variations (air conditioner, heating...).

7. Door or Window Sensor

Install the 2 sensors as illustrated.

Make sure to align the triangles on both sensors and to keep the spacing between them less than 5mm. Open the battery compartment and install the included 12V battery. Assign the sensor with a unique address with the DIP switches. Close the sensor and program it into the central unit. The red LED on the sensor will light at each door opening.

Remark: The transmitter will emit a sound when opening the battery compartment.

1. Inleiding en kenmerken

2. Installatie

Om de centrale eenheid aan een muur te bevestigen en de vereiste kabelaansluitingen te kunnen verwezenlijken, dient men volgende stappen te volgen:

• Open de centrale eenheid door de 2 schroeven vooraan los te schroeven.

• Bevestig eerst de achterplaat van de centrale eenheid op de voorziene plaats. Let daarbij op om eerst de

nodige aansluitkabels (kabels van de voedingsadapter, sensoren, sirene en eventuele telefoonaansluitingen) door de opening te halen. Schroef de achterplaat op de muur vast.

• Sluit de nodige verbindingen aan op de voorziene aansluitklemmen (zie “3. Aansluiting”).

• Sluit de back-upbatterij aan.

• Schroef de voorplaat opnieuw op de achterplaat vast.

3. Aansluiting

• Telefoonlijn: Sluit een bestaande telefoonlijn aan met een RJ45-connector. Opmerking: Wanneer er geen

telefoonlijn op de centrale is aangesloten, geeft de centrale bij een alarmmelding een boodschap (“PATh TROUBLE”) en een geluidsindicatie. Deze boodschap kan uitgeschakeld worden wanneer men, bij de programmering van de centrale, alle telefoonnummers op de waarde “0” zet.

• Voedingsadapter: Sluit de meegeleverde voedingsadapter aan (uitgang 12VDC/1A). Deze voeding zorgt

tevens voor het automatisch laden van de interne back-upbatterij. Wanneer de stroom uitvalt, zal deze batterij de centrale voorzien van de nodige spanning. Wanneer de batterij leeg is, zal de centrale een geluidswaarschuwing geven.

• Aansluitblokken 1 tot 8:

o Aansluitblok 1 en 2: Voedingsuitgang 12VDC. Deze uitgang heeft continu 12VDC en kan gebruikt worden

om externe sensoren van spanning te voorzien. Let op: blok 1 = +; blok 2 = - (GND).

o Aansluitblok 3 en 4: Aansluiting voor de externe sirene (12VDC, 800mA). Let op: blok3 = - (GND) (zwarte

kabel); blok4 = + (rode kabel).

o Blok 5 tot 8: Aansluitingen voor 4 externe sensoren met kabel. Hier kan men universele sensoren

aansluiten. Deze sensoren moeten van het NC-type zijn (NC: normally closed of normaal gesloten contact). Blok 5 tot en met blok 8 zijn in de centrale toegewezen aan ARM ZONE 1 tot en met ARM ZONE 4. Verbind de tweede draad van de sensor steeds met de massa (-) van de centrale (blok 2 of 3). De draadloze sensoren nemen ARM ZONE 5 tot en met ARM ZONE12 voor hun rekening.

Belangrijke opmerking voor blokken 5 tot en met 8: Verbind ieder blok dat men niet gebruikt steeds door met

de massa (-) (= blok 2 of blok 3) om de centrale geen valse signalen te geven.

4. Alarmcentrale

a. Codes

Het systeem bevat 2 beveiligingscodes die de gebruiker persoonlijk kan aanpassen. De eerste code is de systeemcode. Deze code dient om de programmeermodus van de centrale te bereiken en is tevens de belangrijkste code. Zonder deze code kan de gebruiker de codes niet wijzigen en de programmering niet aanpassen. Houd deze dan ook zorgvuldig bij. De defaultwaarde is “000000”. De tweede code is de gebruikerscode. Met deze code kan de gebruiker het alarmsysteem deactiveren (DISARM). De defaultwaarde is “1234”.

Bij het aansluiten van de centrale op de adapter zal het systeem in een bepaalde alarmstatus treden. Op het

scherm verschijnt de boodschap “ARM st” of “DISARM st”. Om de programmeermodus of instellingen te kunnen bereiken, moet het systeem eerst in de DISARM worden geplaatst.

b. Deactiveren van het alarmsysteem (DISARM)

Men kan de centrale deactiveren (DISARM) door de gebruikerscode in te drukken.

Voorbeeld:

Op het scherm verschijnt de boodschap “DISARM st” en men hoort de gesproken boodschap “System disarmed”. Het systeem is nu gedeactiveerd en zal niet reageren op een inbraaksignaal. De centrale reageert enkel bij een SMOKE-, GAS- of PANIC-signaal (24h-alarm).

c. Activeren van het alarmsysteem

Het alarmsysteem kan op 2 manieren scherp worden gesteld.

1. AWAY-activering:

Het systeem reageert op alle aangesloten en geprogrammeerde sensoren. Op het scherm verschijnt de boodschap “ARM st” en de gesproken boodschap “System armed” volgt. Het scherpstellen gebeurt door een enkelvoudige druk op de toets AWAY.

2. HOME-activering:

Deze modus is bedoeld om bepaalde zones die men via programmering bepaalt te beveiligen en andere zones niet. Zo kan men zich in bepaalde zones vrij bewegen zonder dat het systeem een alarmmelding geeft. Op het scherm verschijnt de boodschap “GUARD st” en de gesproken boodschap “System armed” volgt. Het scherpstellen gebeurt door een enkelvoudige druk op de toets HOME.

OPMERKING: Sensoren die ingesteld staan ten behoeve van brand-, gas- of paniekdetectie (24h-functie)

zijn steeds actief, ook wanneer het systeem in DISARM-status staat.

d. De centrale in programmeermodus plaatsen

Om de centrale in programmeermodus te plaatsen, dient men de centrale eerst in de DISARM-modus te plaatsen en vervolgens SET in te drukken. Het systeem zal de boodschap “INPUT LEVEL” tonen waarbij de gebruiker de systeemcode moet invoegen (6 tekens), gevolgd door de #-toets als bevestiging.

Het programmeringmenu ziet er structureel als volgt uit:

User level: Op de display verschijnt “Input user level”. Hier kan men de gebruikerscode veranderen naar een persoonlijke keuze (default “1234”). De code moet bestaan uit 4 cijfers en moet bevestigd worden met de toets “#”. Bij een juiste invoer keert het systeem terug naar het vorige menu.

Dit menu is voor toekomstige uitbreiding van de software en heeft geen functie.

 Submenu 4 - Delay

Hier kan men de tijdsduur ingeven wanneer het systeem zichzelf op scherp zet vanaf het moment dat de gebruiker het alarmsysteem activeert (enkel bij AWAY). Deze tijdsvertraging wordt gebruikt om de gebruiker de tijd te geven om de beveiligde de zones te verlaten vooraleer het systeem op scherp staat.

Instelbare tijd: 0 ~ 99 seconden

Voorbeeld:

In dit voorbeeld heeft de gebruiker 8 seconden tijd om de woning te verlaten vooraleer het alarm op scherp staat. Gedurende deze tijd zal het systeem op iedere seconde een toon laten horen. Merk op dat er steeds 2 cijfers moeten worden ingegeven. Bevestig met de toets “#”.

In het menu “Zone” kan men iedere alarmzone afzonderlijk (zone 01-12) toewijzen aan een specifieke alarmsoort of de alarmzone uitschakelen. Het systeem vraagt bij aanvang het in te stellen zonenummer. Op de display verschijnt “Input arm zone”. De ingegeven waarde kan tussen 01 en 12 liggen. Vergeet niet te bevestigen met de toets “#”.

Opmerking: De eerste 4 zones (arm zone1 - arm zone4) zijn toegewezen aan de sensoren die bekabeld

zijn via de aansluitblokken 5 ~ 8. De draadloze sensoren (meegeleverd) zijn toegewezen aan zones 5 ~ 12.

Vervolgens kan men voor de desbetreffende zone kiezen tussen 4 soorten alarm.
