This meter has been designed with attention to safety, but the user must also take care to respect the safety
prescriptions described below.

1. Do not exceed the maximum values for current or voltage measurements.

2. Use extreme caution when working with voltages in excess of 25V AC rms. These voltages are considered a

shock hazard.

3. Never operate the device if the back panel or the cover of the battery or fuse compartment is not securely in

place.

4. Input limits: 200A (AC current), ±200A (DC current)

6. Operation

a) AC Current Measurements

1) Set the function switch to the ACA range.

2) Press the trigger and enclose a single conductor with the jaws,

which must be fully closed (see figure).

3) Read the ACA value on the LCD.

b) DC Current Measurements

1) Set the function switch to the DCA range.

2) Press the ZERO key to reset the display.

3) Press the trigger to open the jaws.

4) Enclose the conductor to be measured. Remember: the jaws must be fully closed.

5) Read the DCA value on the LCD.

c) Non-contact Voltage Measurements

WARNING

Risk of electrocution. Before use you should always test the voltage detector on a known live circuit to
verify proper operation of the meter

1) Hold the probe against the hot conductor or against the hot side of the electrical outlet..

2) The two detector LEDs light up red if an AC voltage is detected.
NOTE: The conductors in an electrical cord are often twisted. Rub the probe tip along a length of cord to be sure the

tip passes in close proximity to the live conductor.

NOTE: The detector is a sensitive device. Static electricity or a different energy source may randomly trigger the

sensor at random. This is simply part of the normal operation of this device, it is not a malfunction.

d) Frequency Measurements

1) Put the function switch in the Hz-position.

2) Close the jaws completely around the conductor to be measured.

3) Read the frequency value on the LCD.

e) Flashlight

Hold the top button to turn on the flashlight.

f) Data-Hold

Press the "Hold backlight" button to freeze the current reading on the LCD. The word "HOLD" will appear on the LCD
when the data-hold mode is activated. Simply press the "Hold backlight" button again to return to the normal display
mode. The word "HOLD" is erased from the display.

g) Backlight

Hold the "Hold backlight" button for more than 2 seconds to turn on the backlight. This will also activate the data-hold
function. Press the button momentarily to deactivate the data-hold function. Hold the "Hold Backlight" button for more
than 2 seconds to deactivate the backlight.

h) Auto Power OFF

The device is turned off automatically after 7 minutes if no button is pressed.

i) Battery Replacement

1) Replace the batteries when the low-battery symbol is displayed.

2) Turn off the device and loosen the screw of the battery compartment.

3) Remove the compartment cover and replace the two 1.5V AAA batteries.

4) Replace the cover and fasten the screw.

5. Sécurité

Pendant la conception de cet appareil, on a prêté la plus grande attention à son utilisation sans danger. Cependant,
il est primordial de respecter les suivantes consignes de sécurité:

1. Ne jamais dépasser les valeurs maximales pendant les mesurages de courant et de tension.

2. Soyez vigilant en travaillant avec des tensions > 25V CA RMS. Ces tensions peuvent engendrer des choques

électriques.

3. Ne pas utiliser l’appareil si le boîtier est ouvert ou si le couvercle du compartiment à piles ou à fusible n’est pas

mis en place.

4. Limites des valeurs d’entrée: 200A (courant CA), ±200A (courant CC)

6. Emploi

a) Mesurage de courant CA

1) Sélectionner la plage ACA à l’aide de l’interrupteur de fonction.

2) Tirer sur la gâchette et fermer les mâchoires autour d’un seul conducteur. Fermer entièrement les mâchoires (voir

fig. à la page 2).

3) Lire la valeur ACA sur l’afficheur LCD.

b) Mesurage de courant CC

1) Sélectionner la plage DCA à l’aide de l’interrupteur de fonction.

2) Enfoncer la touche ZERO pour remettre l’afficheur à zéro.

3) Tirer sur la gâchette pour ouvrir les mâchoires.

4) Fermer les mâchoires autour du conducteur que vous désirez mesurer. Fermer entièrement les mâchoires.

5) Lire la valeur DCA sur l’affichage par cristaux liquides.

c) Mesurage sans contact de tensions

AVERTISSEMENT

Risque d’électrocution. Tester le détecteur de tension sur une commutation connu pour vérifier le bon
fonctionnement de l’appareil.

1) Touchez le conducteur de phase ou le conducteur de phase de la prise de courant avec la sonde.

2) Les deux LED rouges de détection s’allument pour indiquer une détection de tension CA.
REMARQUE: Les conducteurs dans les câbles sont souvent tressés. Passez la sonde en haut des mâchoires sur un

long bout du câble pour s’assurer que la sonde passe prêt du conducteur.

REMARQUE: Votre ECM1 est un appareil sensible. Electricité statique et autre source d’énergie peuvent enclencher

le détecteur. Ceci fait partie du fonctionnement normal de l’appareil et n’est donc pas un défaut.

d) Mesures de fréquence

1) Mettez l'interrupteur de fonction dans la position Hz.

2) Fermez les mâchoires complètement autour le conducteur à mesurer.

3) Lisez la valeur mesurée sur l'écran LCD.

e) Torche

Maintenir enfoncé la touche supérieure pour allumer la torche.

f) Data hold

Enfoncer le bouton "Rétro-éclairage" pour bloquer la valeur affichée sur l’écran LCD. "HOLD" apparaît sur le LCD
pendant le mode data hold. Appuyer le bouton "Rétro-éclairage" pour retourner au mode d’affichage normal. "HOLD"
disparaît de l’écran.

g) Rétro-éclairage

Maintenir enfoncé le bouton "Rétro-éclairage" pendant plus de 2 secondes pour mettre en circuit le rétro-éclairage.
Ceci active également la fonction data hold. Appuyer brièvement sur le bouton pour la fonction. Maintenir enfoncé le
bouton "Rétro-éclairage" pendant plus de 2 secondes pour éteindre le rétro-éclairage.

h) Auto Power OFF

L’appareil s’éteint automatiquement après 7 minutes d’inactivité.

i) Remplacement des piles

1) Remplacer les piles dès l’apparition de l’indication de piles faibles.

2) Eteindre l’appareil et dévisser la vis du compartiment à pile.

3) Oter le couvercle du compartiment à pile et remplacer les deux piles AAA 1.5V.

4) Remettre en place le couvercle et serrer la vis.
