3UV Series Ultraviolet Hand Lamps
Introduction
The 3UV Series of Ultraviolet Lamps offer a uniform and intense source of ultraviolet light (radiation) with three UV tubes housed in one lamp.
The lamps emit one of three UV wavelengths
(254nm, 302nm or 365nm UV) in four watt, six
watt and eight watt configurations for exposure
or illumination of materials. All 3UV Series Lamps
are lightweight with a rugged housing. Each lamp
features a uniquely designed reflector surface
mounted behind each tube to provide maximum
UV fluorescence.

Important Safety Information
Caution: Shortwave and midrange UV
radiation will cause damage to unprotected eyes and skin. Before operating any unit, be sure all
personnel in the area are properly protected. UV Blocking Eyewear should be worn as well.
UVP has a complete line of UV Blocking Eyewear: Spectacles, Goggles and Faceshield designed
for this purpose.
Operation
Plug power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. The proper voltage of the lamp is found on the
product information label. A dial switch is conveniently located on top of the unit to select the appropriate
UV source. Each lamp comes with one UV tube of each UV wavelength: 254nm, 302nm and 365nm UV.

Maintenance, Repair and Technical Assistance
Replacement parts for the 3UV lamps and accessories are
shown here. For all other replacement parts, contact UVPs
offices or authorized distributor.
Replacing the Tubes
Always disconnect the lamp from the electrical power source
prior to replacing tubes. Remove the filter frame (fig. 1) simply by popping the frame off of the lamp housing. This exposes the rotating lamp assembly. Each tube corresponds to
the UV wavelength indicated on the dial switch. To replace a
tube, rotate the dial to the appropriate UV wavelength. Carefully rotate the tube 90 degrees and slide the tube out of the
end receptacles. To install a tube, slide the tube into the end
receptacles and rotate the tube 90 degrees.
Caution! It is important to ensure that the appropriate UV
tube is placed in the correct tube assembly position so that it
matches the wavelength selector dial notation (fig. 2).
Cleaning the Lamp
The painted surfaces and filter areas of the lamp should be
cleaned with a damp sponge or cloth towel and mild soap.
Never use abrasive cleaners, solvent based cleaners or scouring pads.
ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE LAMP FROM THE
ELECTRICAL POWER PRIOR TO CLEANING.
