Checkthetensionofthefilm,makesurethefilmisthreaded
properly(seefilmthreading).
Filmisnotproperlyadhered.
Thelaminatingtemperatureistoolow,thereisnotenough
heatformeltingtheadhesive.Increasethelaminatingtemperature.
Thelaminatedmaterialseemstohaveairregularsurfacethat
doesnotmatchthetextureofthepaperbeingcoated.
Thisisusuallycausedbyadhesivebuild-upordirtonthe
rubberrollers.Inspecttherubberrollersandcleanit.
Damagestotherubberscanalsocauseirregularitiesinthesurfaceofthe
film.
Generalhazinessorcloudinessinthefilmafterlamination.
Increasethetemperatureordecreasethespeed.That
cloudinessisafunctionofincompleteadhesion.Onavariablespeed
machineloadedwiththickerfilm,itmaybethatthefilmisbeingruntoo

cleaning,positionthefeedtableandslideonthesafetyshield.
Nopowerisgettingtothemachine.
Makesurethereispowerattheelectricaloutletbeingused,and
makesurebothendsofthepowercordarefirmlyengaged.
Thelaminatorequippedwiththreefuses,theyarelocatedunderthebottomof
laminator.Pleasecheckthesefuses.
Wrinklingofthefilmaroundthematerialbeinglaminated.
Thisisnormalandinevitableonanylaminator,especiallywith
thickermaterial.Thesewrinkleswillbetrimmedawaywiththescrap,sotheydo
notaffectappearance.Becausetherollersarebeingheldapartbythepaper,they
cannotpullequallyontheplasticaroundthepaper.Thiscreateswrinklesthat
tendtolooklikethebowwavesofaboat,radiatingoutthroughtheclearpartof
thewebfromthesheetofmaterial.
Whentwopiecesofmaterialarelaminatedsidebyside,theplastic
adhesivetoonepiecebutnottheother.
Togetmaximumefficiencyfromthefilmrolls,youcanfeed
severalitemsintothelaminatorsidebyside.However,wrinklingcanoccurif
theseitemsareofunequalthickness,becausethelaminatingrollersareliftedoff
thethinneritemsbythethickeritems.Whenlaminatingitemssidebyside,itis
importanttoarrangethemsothatthethicknessisthesame.
Filmgetswrappedaroundthelaminatingrollerswhilehot
laminating.
Thefilmisthreadedimproperly.Iftheadhesivesidefacetothe
