Information regarding these operating instructions
Congratulations on the purchase of your new device.
You have clearly decided in favour of a quality product. These operating instructions are a component of the Battery Charger (hereafter referred to as the device
or product). They contain important information in regard to safety, use and
disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of these operating
and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and only for the specifi ed
areas of application. In addition, pass these documents on, together with the
product, to any future owner.

This device is intended exclusively for non-commercial use in the
— charging of rechargeable Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries with the sizes
AAA/AA/C/D and 9 V Block with standard rated capacities,
— charging of fast rechargeable, as well as not-fast rechargeable batteries,
and
— charging of battery-operated devices with a USB interface, such as
MP3 Player
only.
Any other use or uses beyond those mentioned are considered to be unintended
use. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be
accepted. The operator alone bears the liability.

Safety
In this section you will receive important safety information regarding the handling
of the device. This device complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect
usage can lead to injuries and property damage.
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the device observe the following safety
instructions:
■ Before use check the device for visible external damage.
Do not put into operation a device that is damaged or
has been dropped.
■ To avoid possible risks, arrange for damaged cables or
connectors to be exchanged by an authorised specialist
or the Customer Service Department.
■ This appliance may be used by children aged 8 over
and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told
how to use of the appliance safely and are aware of the
potential risks. Children must not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance tasks must not be carried
out by children unless they are supervised.
■ A repair to the device during the warranty period may
only be carried out by a customer service department
authorised by the manufacturer, if it is not, additional
warranty claims cannot be considered for subsequent
defects.
■ Do not make any changes or modifi cations to the appli-
ance yourself.
■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration.
Never submerge the device in water, do not place the device in the vicinity of water and do not stand any object
fi lled with liquid (i.e. vases) on the device.
■ Do not operate the device in the vicinity of open fl ames
(e.g. candles).
■ Avoid direct sunlight.
■ Charge exclusively rechargeable batteries of the types "Ni-
Cd“ and "Ni-MH".

■ NEVER recharge batteries of other types or non-recharge-
able batteries. These are not suitable for recharging.
Batteries not suitable for recharging can overheat and
explode. It could irreparably damage the device and the
inserted batteries.
Interaction with rechargeable batteries (cells)
■ Do not use damaged or corroded rechargeable batteries
in the device.
■ Rechargeable batteries (cells) can be fatal if swallowed.
Therefore, always keep the device and the rechargeable
batteries out of the reach of children!
■ If a rechargeable battery is swallowed medical assis-
tance must be sought IMMEDIATELY.
■ Should a battery have leaked, you must avoid contact
by the battery fl uid with the skin! The battery liquid can
cause acid burns on the skin!
■ Remove the leaked battery liquid with a dry, absorbent
cloth and avoid contact by it with the skin by wearing, for
example, a pair of gloves.

NOTICE
Check the contents to make sure everything is there and for visible damage.

► If the items supplied are incomplete, or damaged due to defective packaging
or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see section Service).
♦ Remove the device and the operating instructions from the carton.
♦ Remove all packing material.

Packaging material should not be used as a play thing. There is a risk of

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material
and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material
that is no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible preserve the device's original packaging during the warranty
►
period so that, in the event of a warranty claim, you can package the
device ideally for its return.

Handling and operation
In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and operation of the device.
Charging batteries
♦ Place the device on a smooth, level and slip resistant surface.
♦ Compare the technical details with those of your power supplier. If they
match, insert the plug into a mains power socket. The LEDs light up in red
three times. The battery charger is now ready for use.
♦ Insert the batteries into the charging slots. Press the 9 V Block batteries
into the charging slot until they audibly engage.
NOTICE
1 to 8 batteries can be individually charged:
►
- 4 x Type C or Type D batteries in the charging slots 1 to 4, with additionally
2 x Type 9 Volt Block batteries in the charging slots 5 and 6
or
- 6 x Type AA or AAA in the charging slots 1 to 4 and additionally
6
2 x Type 9 Volt Block batteries in the charging slots 5 and 6.

♦ The charging process now begins. The battery charger has an LED for each
compartment in the charging slot. The LEDs of the respective charging slots
show the charge status of the individual batteries. In addition, the current
charge status of each battery is shown as a percentage on the display 4.
NOTICE
If the LED on the charging slot blinks red for longer than 5 seconds, the
►
battery is either improperly inserted into the loading slot or it is defective.
Operating status displays
The various displays have the following meanings:
■ The LED fl ashes red and green once per second: The batteries are being
alternately charged and discharged. (Refresh-Function: older or long stored
batteries are being refreshed.)
■ The LED fl ashes green once per second: A deeply discharged battery is
being gently recharged with a reduced current.
■ The LED glows constantly red: The batteries are being charged with the
maximum charge current.
■ The LED glows constantly green: The batteries are fully charged and the
battery charger has switched to trickle charge.
In addition, the current charge status of each battery is shown as a percentage

on the display
.
Calculating the average charging time
Depending on the type, age and remaining charge in the batteries, the charging
process can take various lengths of time. The average charge time can be calculated using the following formula. Take note however that the times given are
only guiding values.

Automatic charging control / Retention charging
This battery charger controls the charging time for batteries of the types Ni-Cd
and Ni-MH separately. This control is based on the –Δ U ("minus Delta U")
calculation. In mathematics, with Delta Δ diff erences are indicated. In this case,
"Minus Delta U" means a negative voltage diff erence.
This charge identifi cation makes itself useful in the following eff ects: Should a
battery be charged with a constant current, its voltage rises continuously. When
a battery is full, its voltage reaches a maximum but falls again slightly with further
current fl ow. This light fall in voltage is recognised by the charging electronics
and the charge process is terminated. The battery charger automatically switches
to "Retention charging". This means that the batteries are no longer being loaded
with constant current, instead, with short current pulses. This counteracts the selfdischarge and the batteries are kept in a state of full charge.

Timer control
In addition, this battery charger has a timer control which automatically switches
over to retention charging after 17 hours. This serves as an additional protection
against overcharging should the charge termination not respond due to a possibly
defective battery.
Charging a USB device
IMPORTANT
Ensure that the power consumption of the USB device is not higher than
►
1000 mA. For more information, refer to the instruction manual of your
USB device.
♦ Insert the USB connector of the USB device into the USB output 5 of the
battery charger.
♦ If necessary, switch the USB device on.
NOTICE
You can simultaneously charge batteries in the battery charger and a USB
►
device at the USB output 5. Be aware that the charging current for the batteries is thereby halved and the charging process thus takes somewhat longer.
Cleaning
DANGER
Always remove the plug before cleaning the device. There is the risk of an
►
electric shock!.
► When you are cleaning the device ensure that no moisture gets inside it, so
as to avoid irreparable damage to it.
IMPORTANT
Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage
►
the upper surfaces.
Cleaning the housing
♦ Clean the surfaces of the device with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn soiling
use a lightly moistened cloth.
♦ Never clean the insides of the charging slots with moist cloths. Instead, use
a clean soft brush to clean them.
♦ If soiled, clean the charging contacts with a dry cloth.

Troubleshooting
In this section you will receive important information for the localisation and
remedying of malfunctions.
Malfunction causes and remedies

Storage/Disposal
Storage
If you do not intend to use the device for a longer time, remove the batteries and
store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Disposal of the device
Do not dispose of the device in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the provisions of the European Directive
2012/19/EU WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community
waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt,
please contact your waste disposal centre.
Insert the power cable into a mains
power socket.
Check the circuit fuse.
Insert the batteries as per their polarity
(see marking in the charging slot).
Insert exclusively rechargable Ni-Cd
and Ni-MH batteries of the types
AAA/AA/C/D and 9 V Block batteries.
Disconnect the plug from the mains
power socket and allow the device to
cool down.

Disposal of batteries
Used batteries/cells may not be disposed of in household waste. All consumers
are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site of his community/
city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that
batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose of batteries/
cells when they are fully discharged.
Appendix
Information regarding the EC Declaration of Conformity
With regard to conformity with essential requirements and
other relevant provisions, this device complies with the
guidelines of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive
2004/108/EC as well as the Directive for Low Voltage
Devices 2006/95/EC.

The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The
appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before
delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim,
please make contact by telephone with our Customer Service Department. Only
in this way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.

This product is for domestic use only and is not intended for commercial use. The
warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and
internal tampering not carried out by our authorised service branch.
Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty
period is not extended by repairs made under the warranty. This applies also to

akumulatorów (zwanej dalej urządzeniem lub produktem). Zawiera ona ważne
wskazówki dotyczące bezpieczeństwa, użytkowania i utylizacji urządzenia.
Przed przystąpieniem do użytkowania produktu zapoznaj się
z wszystkimi wskazówkami obsługi i bezpieczeństwa. Używaj produkt zgodnie
z opisem i w podanych obszarach użytkowania. W razie przekazania produktu
następnej osobie, nie zapomnij dołączyć również instrukcji obsługi.

— ładowania akumulatorów Ni-Cd i Ni-MH o rozmiarach AAA/AA/C/D
i 9 V i o wszystkich pojemnościach występujących na rynku;
— ładowania akumulatorów szybko ładujących się, jak również standardo-
wych akumulatorów i
— ładowania urządzeń zasilanych akumulatorowo wyposażonych
w złącze USB, takich jak np. odtwarzacze MP3.
Inne lub wykraczające poza powyższe użytkowanie, uznaje się za niezgodne
z przeznaczeniem. Wszelkie roszczenia z tytułu szkód wynikających z użytkowania niezgodnie z przeznaczeniem są wykluczone. Wszelkie ryzyko ponosi
wyłącznie użytkownik.

W tym rozdziale znajdziesz ważne wskazówki bezpieczeństwa związane z
użytkowaniem urządzenia. Niniejsze urządzenie jest zgodne z odpowiednimi
przepisami bezpieczeństwa. Nieprawidłowe użytkowanie może prowadzić do
szkód osobowych i materialnych.
Podstawowe wskazówki bezpieczeństwa
Mając na uwadze bezpieczne użytkowanie urządzenia,
przestrzegaj następujących wskazówek bezpieczeństwa:

dzenie nie jest nigdzie uszkodzone. Nie uruchamiaj uszkodzonego ani upuszczonego urządzenia.

nie mogą być wykonywane przez dzieci bez nadzoru.
■ Naprawy urządzenia w okresie trwania gwarancji zlecaj
wyłącznie autoryzowanym serwisom, ponieważ w przeciwnym razie może dojść do utraty gwarancji.
■ Nigdy nie próbuj przeprowadzać naprawy lub zmian w
urządzeniu.
■ Chroń urządzenie przed wilgocią i przedostaniem się
do środka płynów. Nigdy nie wkładaj urządzenia pod

■ Do ładowania nadają się wyłącznie akumulatory
„Ni-Cd” i „Ni-MH”.

■ Nie próbuj nigdy ładować akumulatorów innych typów ani
baterii jednorazowego użytku. Nie nadają się one do ładowania. Akumulatory nieprzystosowane do ładowania mogą
się przegrzać i wybuchnąć. Urządzenie oraz znajdujące się
w nim akumulatory mogą ulec trwałemu uszkodzeniu.
Postępowanie z bateriami wielokrotnego ładowania
(akumulatorami)
■ Nie używaj w urządzeniu uszkodzonych ani skorodowa-
nych baterii wielokrotnego ładowania.
■ Połknięcie baterii wielokrotnego ładowania (akumula-
torów) może stanowić śmiertelne niebezpieczeństwo. Z
tego powodu urządzenie i baterie wielokrotnego ładowania przechowuj w miejscu niedostępnym dla dzieci!
■ W wypadku połknięcia baterii wielokrotnego ładowania,
należy jak najszybciej skorzystać z pomocy medycznej.
■ W razie wylania baterii, bezwzględnie unikaj kontaktu
płynu z baterii ze skórą! Płyn z baterii może powodować
poparzenia skóry!
■ Rozlany płyn baterii wytrzyj suchą, chłonną szmatką, uni-
kając przy tym kontaktu ze skórą, np. poprzez założenie
rękawic ochronnych.

Zakres dostawy i przegląd po rozpakowaniu
Urządzenie jest wyposażone standardowo w następujące elementy:

Ładowanie akumulatorów
♦ Urządzenie postaw na równej, płaskiej i tępej podstawie.
♦ Sprawdź, czy zasilanie w sieci zgadza się z danych technicznymi ładowarki.
Jeśli wszystko się zgadza, podłącz kabel sieciowy do gniazdka zasilania.
Diody zapalają się trzy razy na czerwono. Ładowarka jest gotowa do pracy.
♦ Umieść akumulatory w kieszeniach ładowania. Akumulatory typu blokowego
9 V wciśnij do kieszeni ładowania, aż się wyraźnie zatrzasną.

WSKAZÓWKA
Urządzenie pozwala na niezależne ładowanie od 1 do 8 różnych akumu-

latorów:
- 4 x typu C lub typu D w kieszeniach ładowania od 1 do 4 i dodatkowo
2 x typu blokowego 9 V w kieszeniach ładowania 5 i 6
lub
- 6 x typu AA lub AAA w kieszeniach ładowania od 1 do 4 i dodatkowo
2 x typu blokowego 9 V w kieszeniach ładowania 5 i 6.
♦ Ładowanie rozpoczyna się. W ładowarce do każdej kieszeni przyporząd-
kowana jest jedna dioda. Poszczególne diody wskazują stan naładowania
każdego z akumulatorów. Dodatkowo na wyświetlaczu
w procentach aktualny stan naładowania każdego z akumulatorów.
WSKAZÓWKA
Gdy dioda przy kieszeni ładowania będzie migała dłużej niż 5 sekund na

czerwono akumulator został nieprawidłowo włożony do kieszeni ładowania lub jest uszkodzony.
Wskazania stanu pracy
Poszczególne wskazania mają następujące znaczenie:
■ Dioda miga naprzemiennie czerwonym i zielonym światłem ze zmianą co
jedną sekundę: Trwa naprzemienne ładowanie i rozładowywanie akumulatorów. (funkcja odświeżania: ponowne naładowanie lub odświeżenie
starszych lub długo nie używanych akumulatorów.)
■ Dioda miga zielonym światłem co jedną sekundę: Trwa ładowanie głęboko
rozładowanego akumulatora bezpiecznym prądem ładowania i obniżonym
natężeniu.
■ Dioda świeci ciągłym czerwonym światłem: Trwa ładowanie akumulatorów
maksymalnym prądem ładowania.
■ Dioda świeci ciągłym zielonym światłem: Akumulatory naładowały się i
ładowarka przełącza się na ładowanie konserwacyjne.
Dodatkowo na wyświetlaczu 4 wyświetlany jest w procentach aktualny stan
naładowania każdego z akumulatorów.

Obliczanie średniego czasu ładowania
Czas ładowania akumulatorów jest uzależniony od ich typu, wieku i stanu naładowania. Średnie czasy ładowania możesz obliczyć za pomocą następującego
wzoru. Pamiętaj, że obliczane czasy są jedynie orientacyjnymi informacjami.

Automatyczna kontrola ładowania / ładowanie
konserwacyjne
Ładowarka oddzielnie nadzoruje czas ładowania akumulatorów typu Ni-Cd i
Ni-MH. Nadzorowanie to opiera się na metodzie –Δ U („minus delta U”). W
matematyce symbolem Δ określa się różnice. „Minus Delta U” w tym przypadku
oznacza ujemną różnicę napięć.
To rozpoznawanie zakończenia ładowania wykorzystuje następujący efekt:
Napięcie prądu w przypadku ładowania akumulatora prądem stałym ciągle
wzrasta. Po pełnym naładowaniu akumulatora, jego napięcie uzyskuje wartość
maksymalną i w przypadku dalszego przewodzenia prądu. Ten niewielki spadek
napięcia jest wykrywany przez układ elektroniczny ładowania powodując
zakończenie ładowania. Ładowarka przełącza się automatycznie na „ładowanie konserwacyjne”.Oznacza to, że dalsze ładowanie akumulatorów będzie
się odbywało nie prądem trwałym, tylko krótkimi impulsami prądowymi. Dzięki
temu akumulatory nie będą się rozładowywały, pozostając w stanie pełnego
naładowania.
Sterowanie zegarem
Dodatkowo ładowarka jest wyposażona wczasowy układ sterujący, który po
17 godzinach automatycznie przełącza na ładowanie konserwacyjne. Stanowi
to ochronę przed nadmiernym przeładowaniem w wypadku, gdyby układ
rozpoznawania zakończenia ładowania z powodu ewentualnego uszkodzenia
akumulatora, nie zadziałał w prawidłowy sposób.
Ładowanie urządzeń wyposażonych w złącze USB
UWAGA
► Upewnij się, że pobór prądu urządzenie USB nie przekracza 1000mA.
Szczegółowe informacje zawiera instrukcja obsługi urządzenia USB.
♦ Podłącz wtyk USB urządzenia wyposażonego w złącze USB do wyjścia
