Felicidades por la compra de su aparato nuevo.
Ha adquirido un producto de alta calidad. Estas instrucciones de uso son parte
integrante del cargador de pilas recargables (denominado en lo sucesivo como
aparato o producto) y contienen indicaciones importantes acerca de la seguridad,
el uso y el desecho de este aparato. Antes de usar el producto, familiarícese con
todas las indicaciones de manejo y de seguridad. Utilice el producto únicamente
como se describe y para los ámbitos de aplicación indicados. Entregue todos
los documentos cuando transfi era el producto a terceros.

Este aparato se ha diseñado para un uso no comercial y está previsto
− para la carga de pilas recargables de Ni-Cd y Ni-MH de los tamaños
AAA/AA/C/D y bloque de 9 V con las capacidades asignadas de uso
comercial normal,
− para la carga de pilas de carga rápida y de carga normal y
− para la carga de aparatos con un puerto USB, como, p. ej., reproductores
USB.
Cualquier uso diferente o que vaya más allá de lo indicado se considera contrario
al uso previsto. Se excluyen las reclamaciones de cualquier tipo en relación con
los daños causados por un uso contrario al uso previsto. El riesgo será responsabilidad exclusiva del usuario.

Seguridad
En este capítulo, obtendrá indicaciones de seguridad importantes para manejar
el aparato. Este aparato cumple las normas de seguridad prescritas. El uso
inadecuado puede causar daños personales y materiales.
Advertencias de seguridad básicas
Para manejar con seguridad el aparato, deben tenerse en cuenta las siguientes
indicaciones de seguridad:
■ Antes de usar el aparato, compruebe si hay signos de daños externos
visibles. No utilice un aparato dañado o que se haya caído.

■ En caso de daños en el cable o en las conexiones, solicite al personal técnico
autorizado o al servicio técnico que sustituya inmediatamente los cables o
las conexiones defectuosas para evitar situaciones de peligro.
■ No permita utilizar el aparato a personas (incluidos los niños) cuyas facul-
tades físicas, sensoriales o mentales, así como su falta de conocimientos
o de experiencia, les impida hacer un uso seguro de éste si no están bajo
vigilancia o si no han sido instruidos acerca del uso del aparato.
■ Vigile a los niños para asegurarse de que no jueguen con el aparato.
■ La reparación del aparato durante el periodo de garantía debe ser realizada
exclusivamente por un servicio al cliente autorizado por el fabricante; de lo
contrario, los posibles daños posteriores no estarán cubiertos por la garantía.
■ No realice transformaciones o modifi caciones en el aparato por cuenta propia.
■ Proteja el aparato de la humedad y contra la penetración de líquidos.
No sumerja nunca el aparato en agua, no coloque el aparato próximo al
agua ni coloque ningún objeto relleno de líquido (p. ej., jarrones) sobre el
aparato.
■ No utilice el aparato cerca de llamas abiertas (p. ej., velas).
■ Evite la radiación solar directa.
■ Cargue exclusivamente pilas recargables de los tipos "Ni-Cd" y "Ni-MH".
■ No cargue nunca pilas recargables de otro tipo o baterías que no sean
recargables. Estas no son aptas para recargar. Las pilas no recargables pueden sobrecalentarse e incluso explotar. Con esto, podría dañarse el aparato
y las pilas insertadas de modo irreparable.
Manipulación de las pilas recargables
■ No utilice pilas recargables dañadas o que presenten signos de corrosión
en el aparato.
■ Las pilas recargables pueden causar peligro de muerte si se ingieren. Por ello,
guarde el aparato y las pilas recargables fuera del alcance de los niños.
■ En caso de ingestión de una pila recargable, busque inmediatamente
asistencia médica.
■ Si se derrama el líquido de la pila, evite por todos los medios su contacto
con la piel. El líquido de la pila puede causar lesiones cutáneas.
■ Limpie el líquido derramado de la pila con un paño seco y absorbente y
evite el contacto con la piel mediante, p. ej., el uso de guantes.

Puesta en funcionamiento
Volumen de suministro e inspección de transporte
El aparato se suministra de serie con los componentes siguientes:
▯ Cargador de pilas recargables
▯ Estas instrucciones de uso
INDICACIÓN
Compruebe la integridad del suministro y si hay daños visibles.
►
► Si el suministro es incompleto o hay daños debido a un embalaje defi ciente
o al transporte, póngase en contacto con la línea directa de asistencia
(consulte el capítulo Asistencia técnica).
♦ Extraiga el aparato y las instrucciones de uso del cartón.
♦ Retire todo el material de embalaje.
PELIGRO
Los materiales de embalaje no deben usarse para jugar. Existe peligro de
►
asfi xia.
Desecho del embalaje
El embalaje protege al aparato durante el transporte. El material de embalaje
se ha seleccionado teniendo en cuenta criterios ecológicos y de desecho, por
lo que es reciclable.
La reintroducción del embalaje en el ciclo de materiales ahorra materias primas
y reduce el volumen de residuos. Deseche el material de embalaje innecesario
de la forma dispuesta por las normativas locales aplicables.

Si es posible, conserve el embalaje original durante el periodo de garantía

del aparato para poder empaquetarlo correctamente en caso de una
reclamación conforme a la garantía.

Manejo y funcionamiento
En este capítulo se proporcionan indicaciones importantes sobre el manejo y
funcionamiento del aparato.
Carga de pilas recargables
♦ Coloque el aparato sobre una base fi rme, plana y antideslizante.
♦ Compare los datos técnicos con los de su empresa de suministro eléctrico.
Si concuerdan, conecte el cable de red a una base de enchufe. Los LED
parpadean tres veces en rojo. Ahora, el aparato está listo para su uso.
♦ Inserte las pilas recargables dentro de los compartimentos de carga. Presio-
ne la pila de tipo bloque de 9 V dentro del compartimento de carga hasta
que encastre de forma audible.
INDICACIÓN
Pueden cargarse individualmente de 1 a 8 pilas:
►
- 4 pilas del tipo C o del tipo D en los compartimentos de carga de 1 a 4, así
como 2 pilas del tipo bloque de 9 V en los compartimentos de carga 5 y 6
o
- 6 pilas del tipo AA o del tipo AAA en los compartimentos de carga
de 1 a 4, así como 2 pilas del tipo bloque de 9 V en los compartimentos de carga 5 y 6.
♦ El proceso de carga comienza ahora. El cargador de pilas recargables
dispone de un LED para cada compartimento de carga. Los LED de los
distintos compartimentos de carga muestran el estado de carga de cada
una de las pilas recargables. Además, también se muestran los estados
de carga en la pantalla.
INDICACIÓN
Si los LED del compartimento de carga parpadean en rojo más de 5segundos
►
y todo el símbolo de pila de la pantalla 4 también parpadea, signifi ca
que la pila no se ha insertado correctamente o es defectuosa.

Indicaciones del estado de funcionamiento
Las distintas indicaciones tienen los siguientes signifi cados:
■ El LED parpadea en rojo y verde en intervalos de segundos y las rayas
del símbolo de la pila se mueven de abajo a arriba y viceversa de forma
alternada: las pilas recargables se cargan y descargan de forma alternada
(función de reactivación: las pilas recargables antiguas o almacenadas
durante un tiempo prolongado se reactivan de esta manera).
■ El LED parpadea en verde en intervalos de segundos y las rayas del símbolo
de la pila se mueven de abajo a arriba: la pila totalmente descargada se
precarga con una corriente de carga reducida.
■ El LED se enciende en rojo de forma continua y las rayas del símbolo de la
pila se mueven de abajo a arriba: las pilas recargables se cargan con la
corriente de carga máxima.
■ El LED se enciende en verde de forma continua y todas las rayas del símbolo
de la pila se iluminan de forma continua: las pilas recargables están a plena
carga y el cargador conmuta a la carga de mantenimiento.
Cálculo del tiempo medio de carga
Según el tipo, la antigüedad y el estado de carga residual de las pilas recargables,
el proceso de carga puede tener una duración diferente. Puede calcularse el
tiempo medio de carga con la siguiente fórmula: Tenga en cuenta que las duraciones indicadas son solo valores orientativos.

Corriente de carga del aparato (mA)

Control automático de carga/carga de mantenimiento
Este cargador de pilas recargables controla el tiempo de carga para las pilas del
tipo Ni-Cd y Ni-MH de forma separada. El control se basa en el procedimiento
–Δ U ("menos delta U"). En matemáticas, delta Δ se refi ere a las diferencias.
En este caso, "menos delta U" signifi ca una diferencia de tensión negativa. Esta
detección de fi nal de carga aprovecha los siguientes efectos: Si se carga una pila
recargable con una corriente constante, su tensión va aumentando progresivamente. Si la pila recargable está totalmente cargada, su tensión alcanza un máximo y
disminuye ligeramente en caso de que continúe el fl ujo de corriente. La electrónica
de carga detecta esta ligera caída de tensión y se fi naliza el proceso de carga. El
cargador de pilas recargables conmuta automáticamente a la "carga de mantenimiento". Es decir, las pilas ya no se cargan con corriente continua, sino con cortos
impulsos de corriente. De esta manera, se evita una descarga automática de las
pilas, que se mantienen con un estado de carga total.

Control de temporizador
El cargador de pilas recargables dispone además de un control de temporizador
que conmuta el aparato automáticamente al modo de carga de mantenimiento
tras 17 horas. Esta función procura una protección adicional contra el exceso
de carga si la detección de fi nal de carga no reacciona a causa de una pila
defectuosa.
Carga de dispositivos USB
ATENCIÓN
Asegúrese de que la toma de carga del dispositivo USB no supere los
►
1000 mA. Encontrará más información en las instrucciones de uso del
dispositivo USB.
♦ Conecte el conector USB del dispositivo USB en la salida USB 5 del
cargador de pilas recargables.
♦ Encienda el dispositivo USB si es necesario.
INDICACIÓN
Pueden cargarse simultáneamente las pilas recargables en el cargador junto
►
con el dispositivo USB en la salida USB 5. No obstante, debe tenerse en
cuenta que, en tal caso, la corriente de carga para las pilas se reduce a la
mitad, con lo que se prolonga el proceso de carga.
Limpieza
PELIGRO
Antes de cada limpieza extraiga la clavija de red. ¡Existe riesgo de descarga
►
eléctrica!
► Asegúrese de que durante la limpieza no penetre humedad en el aparato
para evitar daños irreparables.
ATENCIÓN
No utilice productos de limpieza agresivos ni abrasivos, ya que podrían
►
dañar la superfi cie de la carcasa.
Limpieza de la carcasa
♦ Limpie la superfi cie del aparato con un paño seco y suave. En caso de
suciedad persistente, utilice un paño ligeramente húmedo.
♦ No limpie nunca el interior del compartimento de carga con nada húmedo.
Utilice en cambio un pincel suave y limpio para la limpieza.
♦ En caso de suciedad en los contactos de carga, límpielos con un paño seco.

Eliminación de fallos
En este capítulo, se proporcionan indicaciones importantes para la localización
y solución de averías.
Causas y solución de fallos

Si no puede solucionar el problema con los pasos indicados anteriormente,

Almacenamiento/desecho
Almacenamiento
Si no pretende utilizar el aparato durante un tiempo prolongado, extraiga las
pilas y guárdelas en un lugar limpio y seco protegido de la radiación solar directa.
Desecho del aparato
No deseche nunca el aparato con la basura doméstica. Este
producto está sujeto a la Directiva europea 2012/19/EU-WEEE
(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Deseche el aparato en un centro de residuos autorizado a través de las insta-
laciones de desecho de residuos comunitarias. Observe las normas vigentes.
En caso de duda, póngase en contacto con las instalaciones municipales de
desecho de residuos.
Conecte el cable de red a la base de
enchufe.
Compruebe los fusibles de la casa.
Coloque las pilas recargables según
su polaridad (consulte la indicación
del compartimento de carga).
Para la carga, solo son aptas las pilas
recargables de Ni-Cd y Ni-MH de los
tipos AAA/AA/C/D y bloque de 9 V.
Extraiga el cable de red de la base
de enchufe y deje enfriar el aparato.

Desecho de las pilas
Las pilas no deben desecharse con la basura doméstica. Los consumidores
están obligados legalmente a entregar las pilas en un punto de recogida de
residuos de su municipio/barrio o en un establecimiento. Con esta obligación se
consigue que las pilas se desechen de forma respetuosa con el medio ambiente.
Devuelva las pilas exclusivamente en estado descargado.
Anexo
Indicaciones sobre la declaración de conformidad CE
Este aparato cumple los requisitos básicos y las demás
normas relevantes de la normativa para la compatibilidad
electromagnética 2004/108/EC así como la directiva de
baja tensión 2006/95/EC.
La declaración de conformidad original completa puede
solicitarse a la empresa de importación.

Garantía
Este aparato tiene 3 años de garantía desde la fecha de compra. El aparato ha
sido fabricado cuidadosamente y examinado en profundidad antes de su entrega.
Guarde el comprobante de caja como justifi cante de compra. Si necesitara
hacer uso de la garantía, póngase en contacto por teléfono con su punto de
servicio habitual. Este es el único modo de garantizar un envío gratuito.
INDICACIÓN
La garantía solo cubre los defectos de fabricación o del material, pero no
►
los daños de transporte, las piezas sujetas a desgaste ni los daños sufridos
en las piezas frágiles (p. ej., interruptores o pilas).
Este producto ha sido diseñado exclusivamente para el uso particular y no para
el uso industrial. En caso de manipulación indebida e incorrecta, uso de la fuerza
y apertura del aparato por personas ajenas a nuestros centros de asistencia técnica autorizados, la garantía pierde su validez. Sus derechos legales no se ven
limitados por esta garantía. La duración de la garantía no se prolonga por hacer
uso de ella. Este principio rige también para las piezas sustituidas y reparadas.
Si después de la compra del aparato se detecta la existencia de daños o de
defectos al desembalarlo, deben notifi carse de inmediato o, como muy tarde,
dos días después de la fecha de compra. Cualquier reparación que se realice
una vez fi nalizado el plazo de garantía está sujeta a costes.

■ Il presente apparecchio non è destinato all'uso da parte di persone (inclusi
bambini) con limitate capacità fi siche, sensoriali o mentali o prive dell'esperienza
e/o della conoscenza necessaria, a meno che tali persone non vengano
sorvegliate da un responsabile per la sicurezza o abbiano ricevuto indicazioni sull'impiego dell'apparecchio.
■ Sorvegliare i bambini per assicurarsi che non giochino con l'apparecchio.
■ La riparazione dell'apparecchio in periodo di garanzia può avere luogo solo
tramite l'assistenza ai clienti autorizzata dal produttore; in caso contrario, in
presenza di successivi danni, la garanzia non sarà ritenuta valida.
■ Non eseguire modifi che o riparazioni dell'apparecchio in proprio.
■ Proteggere l'apparecchio dall'umidità e dalla penetrazione di liquidi. Non immer-
gere mai l'apparecchio in acqua, non collocarlo nelle vicinanze dell'acqua e
non collocare recipienti pieni di liquidi (ad es. vasi) sull'apparecchio.
■ Non azionare l'apparecchio nelle vicinanze di fi amme libere (ad es. candele).
■ Evitare l'esposizione diretta ai raggi solari.
■ Caricate esclusivamente pile ricaricabili al „Ni-Cd“ e al „Ni-MH“.
■ Non caricare mai pile di altro tipo o batterie non ricaricabili. Queste ultime
non sono adatte a essere ricaricate. Le pile non ricaricabili potrebbero surriscaldarsi ed esplodere. L'apparecchio e le pile in esso inserite potrebbero
danneggiarsi irreparabilmente.
Uso delle pile ricaricabili (accumulatori)
■ Non inserire pile ricaricabili danneggiate o corrose nell'apparecchio.
■ Le pile ricaricabili (accumulatori) possono essere letali in caso di ingestione.
Tenere pertanto l'apparecchio e le pile ricaricabili lontano dai bambini piccoli!
■ In caso di ingestione di una pila ricaricabile, consultare immediatamente un
medico.
■ In caso di pila deteriorata, evitare assolutamente il contatto del liquido in
fuoriuscita con la pelle! Il liquido della pila può causare ustioni alla pelle!
■ Rimuovere il liquido delle pile deteriorate con un panno asciutto e assorbente,
evitando il contatto con la pelle, ad es. tramite l'uso di guanti.

Messa in funzione
Volume della fornitura e ispezione per eventuali danni
da trasporto
La fornitura standard dell'apparecchio comprende i seguenti componenti:
▯ Caricabatterie
▯ Le presenti istruzioni per l'uso
AVVERTENZA
Controllare la completezza e integrità della fornitura in relazione ai danni
►
visibili.
► In caso di fornitura incompleta o in presenza di danni derivanti da imballag-
gio insuffi ciente o causati dal trasporto, rivolgersi alla Hotline di assistenza
(v. capitolo Assistenza).
♦ Rimuovere l'apparecchio e il manuale di istruzioni dal cartone.
♦ Rimuovere completamente il materiale di imballaggio.
PERICOLO
Il materiale di imballaggio non deve essere utilizzato come giocattolo.

Pericolo di soff ocamento!
Smaltimento della confezione
L'imballaggio protegge l'apparecchio dai danni da trasporto. I materiali di imballaggio sono stati selezionati in relazione alla loro ecocompatibilità e alle caratteristiche
di smaltimento, e pertanto sono riciclabili.
Il riciclo dell'imballaggio consente di risparmiare materie prime e riduce la generazione di rifi uti. Smaltire il materiale di imballaggio inutilizzato in conformità alle
norme vigenti localmente.

Comandi e funzionamento
In questo capitolo sono riportate indicazioni importanti relative ai comandi e al
funzionamento dell'apparecchio.
Caricare le pile
♦ Collocare l'apparecchio su una superfi cie stabile, piana e non sdrucciolevole.
♦ Confrontare i dati tecnici con quelli del gestore della rete di alimentazione
elettrica. Solo se i dati coincidono, inserire il cavo di rete in una presa di
corrente. I LED si accenderanno e lampeggeranno tre volte con il colore
rosso. Il caricabatterie è ora pronto per l'uso.
♦ Inserire le pile nei vani di carica. Inserire le pile blocco da 9 V nei vani di
carica fi no a inserirle udibilmente in posizione.
AVVERTENZA
Si possono caricare individualmente da 1 a 8 pile:
►
- 4 x pile di tipo C o tipo D nei vani di carica da 1 a 4 e inoltre 2 x pile
blocco da 9 V nei vani di carica 5 e 6
o
- 6 x pile di tipo AA o tipo AAA nei vani di carica da 1 a 4 e inoltre
2 x pile blocco da 9 V nei vani di carica 5 e 6
♦ Il processo di carica ha così inizio. Il caricabatterie possiede un LED per
ogni scomparto del vano di carica. I LED delle relative sedi di carica indicano lo stato di carica delle singole pile. Inoltre gli stati di carica vengono
visualizzati ancora nel display.

Se il LED del vano di carica lampeggia di colore rosso per oltre 5 secondi
►
e il simbolo completo della pila lampeggia nel display 4, signifi ca che la
pila non è stata inserita correttamente nel vano di carica oppure è guasta.

Spie di indicazione della modalità di esercizio
Le diverse indicazioni luminose hanno i seguenti signifi cati:
■ Il LED lampeggia a intervalli di un secondo di colore rosso e verde e le barre
del simbolo della pila si spostano alternativamente dal basso verso l'alto e
viceversa: le pile vengono alternativamente caricate e scaricate. (Funzione
di refresh: le pile vecchie o lasciate inutilizzate a lungo vengono rigenerate).
■ Il LED lampeggia di colore verde a intervalli di un secondo e le barre nel
simbolo della pila si muovono dal basso verso l'alto: viene caricata una pila
molto scarica con la modalità di corrente protettiva di carica ridotta.
■ Il LED è acceso costantemente di colore rosso e le barre nel simbolo della
pila si muovono dal basso verso l'alto: le pile vengono caricate con la
corrente di carica massima.
■ Il LED è acceso costantemente di colore verde e tutte le barre nel simbolo
della pila sono accese costantemente: le pile sono completamente cariche
e il caricabatterie passa alla carica di mantenimento.
Calcolo del tempo di carica medio
Il processo di carica ha una diversa durata a seconda del tipo, dell'età e della
carica residua delle pile. I tempi di carica medi possono essere calcolati con
l'ausilio della seguente formula. Ricordare tuttavia che i tempi calcolati sono
solo valori indicativi.

Controllo automatico della carica /
Carica di mantenimento
Questo caricabatterie controlla separatamente il tempo di carica per le pile di
tipo Ni-Cd e Ni-MH. Questo comando si basa sul procedimento –Δ U („meno
Delta U“). In matematica, il Delta Δ indica le diff erenze. „Meno Delta U“ signifi ca
in questo caso una diff erenza di tensione negativa.
Questo riconoscimento della conclusione del processo di carica sfrutta il seguente
eff etto: se una pila viene caricata con corrente costante, la sua tensione continua
ad aumentare. Quando la pila è carica, la sua tensione raggiunge un massimo
che poi cala leggermente in caso di ulteriore affl usso di corrente. Questa leggera
caduta di tensione viene rilevata dall'elettronica di caricamento e il procedimento
di carica viene terminato. Il caricabatterie passa automaticamente alla modalità
"Carica di mantenimento“. Ciò signifi ca che le pile non vengono più caricate con
corrente continua ma con brevi impulsi di corrente. In tal modo si contrasta lo
scaricamento e le pile vengono mantenute in uno stato di carica costante.

Controllo timer
Il caricabatterie possiede inoltre un controllo timer che passa automaticamente
alla carica di mantenimento dopo 17 ore. Ciò serve inoltre come ulteriore protezione dal sovraccarico, qualora fallisse il riconoscimento del completamento
della carica a causa di un eventuale guasto della pila.
Carica di apparecchi con USB
ATTENZIONE
Assicurarsi che l'assorbimento di corrente dell'apparecchio USB non superi
►
i 1000 mA. Per ulteriori informazioni, consultare il manuale di istruzioni
dell'apparecchio USB.
♦ Inserire lo spinotto USB dell'apparecchio USB nell'uscita USB 5 del carica-
batterie.
♦ Se necessario, accendere l'apparecchio USB.
AVVERTENZA
Si possono caricare contemporaneamente le pile nel caricabatterie e un
►
apparecchio USB tramite la porta USB 5. Ricordare che in tal caso la
corrente di carica per le pile viene dimezzata e pertanto il procedimento
di carica durerà più a lungo.
Pulizia
PERICOLO
Prima di pulire l'apparecchio, staccare sempre la spina dalla presa di
►
corrente. Sussiste il pericolo di scossa elettrica!
► Assicurarsi che durante la pulizia non penetri umidità nell'apparecchio,
per evitarne un irreparabile danneggiamento.
ATTENZIONE
Non utilizzare detergenti aggressivi o abrasivi, poiché essi potrebbero
►
intaccare la superfi cie dell'apparecchio.
Pulizia dell'alloggiamento
♦ Pulire le superfi ci dell'alloggiamento solo con un panno morbido e asciutto.
In caso di sporco ostinato utilizzate un panno leggermente umido.
♦ È assolutamente vietato pulire l'interno delle sedi di carica con acqua o altri
liquidi. Per pulirle utilizzare invece un pennello pulito e morbido.
♦ In caso di sporco, pulire i contatti di carica con un panno asciutto.

Conservazione/Smaltimento
Conservazione
Se non si utilizzasse l'apparecchio per un periodo di tempo prolungato, estrarre
le pile e conservarlo in un luogo pulito e asciutto, al riparo dall'irradiazione solare
diretta.
Inserire il cavo di rete nella presa di
corrente.
Controllare i fusibili.
Inserire le pile rispettando la polarità
corretta (controllare le indicazioni nel
vano di carica).
Caricare esclusivamente pile ricaricabili al Ni-Cd e al Ni-MH di tipo AAA/
AA/C/D e blocco da 9 V.
Estrarre il cavo di rete dalla presa di
corrente e far raff reddare l'apparecchio.
Smaltimento dell'apparecchio
Non gettare per alcun motivo l'apparecchio insieme ai normali
rifi uti domestici. Questo prodotto è soggetto alla Direttiva europea 2012/19/EU-RAEE (Rifi uti da Apparecchiature Elettriche ed
Elettroniche).
Smaltire l'apparecchio presso un'azienda autorizzata o presso l'ente comunale
di smaltimento. Rispettare le prescrizioni attualmente in vigore. In caso di dubbi
mettersi in contatto con l'ente di smaltimento competente.

Smaltimento di pile / accumulatori
Pile e/o accumulatori non devono essere smaltiti insieme ai rifi uti domestici. Ogni
utente è obbligato per legge a portare le pile/accumulatori presso un centro
di raccolta del proprio comune / quartiere o a restituirle al rivenditore. Questo
obbligo è fi nalizzato allo smaltimento ecologico delle pile e/o degli accumulatori.
Restituire le pile/gli accumulatori solo se scarichi.

Questo apparecchio è garantito per 3 anni a partire dalla data di acquisto.
L’apparecchio è stato prodotto con cura e debitamente collaudato prima della
consegna.
Conservare lo scontrino come prova d’acquisto. Nei casi contemplati dalla
garanzia, mettersi in comunicazione telefonica con il centro assistenza più vicino.
Solo in questo modo è possibile garantire una spedizione gratuita della merce.
AVVERTENZA
La prestazione della garanzia vale solo per difetti del materiale o di fab-

bricazione, ma non per i danni da trasporto, a parti soggette a usura o a

Information regarding these operating instructions
Congratulations on the purchase of your new device.
You have clearly decided in favour of a quality product. These operating instructions are a component of the Battery Charger (hereafter referred to as the device
or product). They contain important information in regard to safety, use and
disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of these operating
and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and only for the specifi ed
areas of application. In addition, pass these documents on, together with the
product, to any future owner.

This device is intended exclusively for non-commercial use in the
— charging of rechargeable Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries with the sizes
AAA/AA/C/D and 9 V Block with standard rated capacities,
— charging of fast rechargeable, as well as not-fast rechargeable batteries,
and
— charging of battery-operated devices with a USB interface, such as
MP3 Player
only.
Any other use or uses beyond those mentioned are considered to be unintended
use. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be
accepted. The operator alone bears the liability.

In this section you will receive important safety information regarding the handling
of the device. This device complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect
usage can lead to injuries and property damage.
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the device observe the following safety instructions:
■ Before use check the device for visible external damage. Do not put into
operation a device that is damaged or has been dropped.

■ To avoid possible risks, arrange for damaged cables or connectors to be
exchanged by an authorised specialist or the Customer Service Department.
■ This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with
restricted physical, sensory or intellectual abilities or defi ciences in experience
and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for
their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is to
be used.
■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
■ A repair to the device during the warranty period may only be carried out
by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer, if it is not,
additional warranty claims cannot be considered for subsequent defects.
■ Do not make any changes or modifi cations to the appliance yourself.
■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration. Never submerge the
device in water, do not place the device in the vicinity of water and do not
stand any object fi lled with liquid (i.e. vases) on the device.
■ Do not operate the device in the vicinity of open fl ames (e.g. candles).
■ Avoid direct sunlight.
■ Charge exclusively rechargeable batteries of the types "Ni-Cd“ and "Ni-MH".
■ NEVER recharge batteries of other types or non-rechargeable batteries.
These are not suitable for recharging. Batteries not suitable for recharging
can overheat and explode. It could irreparably damage the device and the
inserted batteries.
Interaction with rechargeable batteries (cells)
■ Do not use damaged or corroded rechargeable batteries in the device.
■ Rechargeable batteries (cells) can be fatal if swallowed. Therefore, always
keep the device and the rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children!
■ If a rechargeable battery is swallowed medical assistance must be sought
IMMEDIATELY.
■ Should a battery have leaked, you must avoid contact by the battery fl uid
with the skin! The battery liquid can cause acid burns on the skin!
■ Remove the leaked battery liquid with a dry, absorbent cloth and avoid
contact by it with the skin by wearing, for example, a pair of gloves.

Check the contents to make sure everything is there and for visible damage.

► If the items supplied are incomplete, or damaged due to defective packaging
or transportation, contact the Service Hotline (see section Service).
♦ Remove the device and the operating instructions from the carton.
♦ Remove all packing material.
DANGER
Packaging material should not be used as a play thing. There is a risk of

suff ocation!
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material
and reduces the amount of waste generated. Dispose of packaging material
that is no longer needed as per the regionally established regulations.

Handling and operation
In this chapter you will receive important information for the handling and operation of the device.
Charging batteries
♦ Place the device on a smooth, level and slip resistant surface.
♦ Compare the technical details with those of your power supplier. If they
match, insert the plug into a mains power socket. The LEDs light up in red
three times. The battery charger is now ready for use.
♦ Insert the batteries into the charging slots. Press the 9 V Block batteries
into the charging slot until they audibly engage.
NOTICE
1 to 8 batteries can be individually charged:
►
- 4 x Type C or Type D batteries in the charging slots 1 to 4, with additionally
2 x Type 9 Volt Block batteries in the charging slots 5 and 6
or
- 6 x Type AA or AAA in the charging slots 1 to 4 and additionally
2 x Type 9 Volt Block batteries in the charging slots 5 and 6.
♦ The charging process now begins. The battery charger has an LED for each
compartment in the charging slot. The LEDs of the respective charging slots
show the charge status of the individual batteries. In addition, the charge
status is also indicated on the display.
NOTICE
If the LED on the charging slot blinks red for longer than 5 seconds and
►
the complete battery symbol in the display 4 fl ashes, the battery is either
improperly inserted into the loading slot or it is defective.

Operating status displays
The various displays have the following meanings:
■ The LED fl ashes red and green once per second and the bars on the battery
symbol alternately move from the bottom to the top and vice versa: The batteries are being alternately charged and discharged. (Refresh-Function: older
or long stored batteries are being refreshed.)
■ The LED fl ashes green once per second and the bars in the battery symbol
are moving from the bottom to the top: A deeply discharged battery is being
gently recharged with a reduced current.
■ The LED glows constantly red and the bars in the battery symbol are moving
from the bottom to the top: The batteries are being charged with the maximum
charge current.
■ The LED glows constantly green and all bars in the battery symbol glow
continuously: The batteries are fully charged and the battery charger has
switched to trickle charge.
Calculating the average charging time
Depending on the type, age and remaining charge in the batteries, the charging
process can take various lengths of time. The average charge time can be calculated using the following formula. Take note however that the times given are
only guiding values.

Charging current of the device (mA)
Automatic charging control / Retention charging
This battery charger controls the charging time for batteries of the types Ni-Cd
and Ni-MH separately. This control is based on the –Δ U ("minus Delta U")
calculation. In mathematics, with Delta Δ diff erences are indicated. In this case,
"Minus Delta U" means a negative voltage diff erence.
This charge identifi cation makes itself useful in the following eff ects: Should a
battery be charged with a constant current, its voltage rises continuously. When
a battery is full, its voltage reaches a maximum but falls again slightly with further
current fl ow. This light fall in voltage is recognised by the charging electronics
and the charge process is terminated. The battery charger automatically switches
to "Retention charging". This means that the batteries are no longer being loaded
with constant current, instead, with short current pulses. This counteracts the selfdischarge and the batteries are kept in a state of full charge.

In addition, this battery charger has a timer control which automatically switches
over to retention charging after 17 hours. This serves as an additional protection
against overcharging should the charge termination not respond due to a possibly
defective battery.

Charging a USB device
IMPORTANT
Ensure that the power consumption of the USB device is not higher than

1000 mA. For more information, refer to the instruction manual of your
USB device.
♦ Insert the USB connector of the USB device into the USB output 5 of the
battery charger.
♦ If necessary, switch the USB device on.

You can simultaneously charge batteries in the battery charger and a USB

device at the USB output

Cleaning
DANGER
Always remove the plug before cleaning the device. There is the risk of an

electric shock!.
► When you are cleaning the device ensure that no moisture gets inside it, so
as to avoid irreparable damage to it.

Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage

the upper surfaces.

♦ Clean the surfaces of the device with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn soiling
use a lightly moistened cloth.
♦ Never clean the insides of the charging slots with moist cloths. Instead, use
a clean soft brush to clean them.
♦ If soiled, clean the charging contacts with a dry cloth.

Storage
If you do not intend to use the device for a longer time, remove the batteries and
store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Disposal of the device
Do not dispose of the device in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the provisions of the European Directive
2012/19/EU-WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community
waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt,
please contact your waste disposal centre.

Disposal of batteries
Used batteries/cells may not be disposed of in household waste. All consumers
are statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site of his community/
city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that
batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose of batteries/
cells when they are fully discharged.

Umgang mit wiederaufl adbaren Batterien (Akkus)
■ Verwenden Sie keine beschädigten oder korrodierten wiederaufl adbaren
Batterien im Gerät.
■ Wiederaufl adbare Batterien (Akkus) können bei Verschlucken lebensge-
fährlich sein. Bewahren Sie deshalb das Gerät und die wiederaufl adbaren
Batterien für Kleinkinder unerreichbar auf!
■ Wurde eine wiederaufl adbare Batterie verschluckt, muss sofort medizinische
Hilfe in Anspruch genommen werden.
■ Sollte eine Batterie ausgelaufen sein, vermeiden Sie auf jeden Fall den
Kontakt der Batteriefl üssigkeit mit der Haut! Die Batteriefl üssigkeit kann
Hautverätzungen verursachen!
■ Entfernen Sie ausgelaufene Batteriefl üssigkeit mit einem trockenen, saugfä-
higem Tuch und vermeiden Sie dabei den Kontakt zur Haut, indem Sie z. B.
Handschuhe benutzen.

Inbetriebnahme
Lieferumfang und Transportinspektion
Das Gerät wird standardmäßig mit folgenden Komponenten geliefert:

Prüfen Sie die Lieferung auf Vollständigkeit und auf sichtbare Schäden.

♦ Entnehmen Sie das Gerät und die Bedienungsanleitung aus dem Karton.
♦ Entfernen Sie sämtliches Verpackungsmaterial.

Entsorgung der Verpackung
Die Verpackung schützt das Gerät vor Transportschäden. Die Verpackungsmaterialien sind nach umweltverträglichen und entsorgungstechnischen Gesichtspunkten
ausgewählt und deshalb recyclebar.
Die Rückführung der Verpackung in den Materialkreislauf spart Rohstoff e und

Bedienung und Betrieb
In diesem Kapitel erhalten Sie wichtige Hinweise zur Bedienung und zum Betrieb
des Gerätes.
Akkus aufl aden
♦ Stellen Sie das Gerät auf einem geraden, ebenen und rutschfesten Unter-
grund auf.
♦ Vergleichen Sie die technischen Daten mit denen Ihres Stromnetzbetreibers.
Bei Übereinstimmung schließen Sie das Netzkabel an eine Steckdose an. Die
LEDs leuchten dreimal rot auf. Das Akku-Ladegerät ist jetzt betriebsbereit.
♦ Setzen Sie die Akkus in die Ladeschächte ein. Drücken Sie die Akkus Typ
9 V-Block in die Ladeschächte, bis sie hörbar einrasten.
HINWEIS
Es können individuell 1–8 Akkus geladen werden:
►
- 4 x Typ C oder Typ D in den Ladeschächten 1 bis 4 und zusätzlich
2 x Typ 9 V-Block in den Ladeschächten 5 und 6
oder
- 6 x Typ AA oder AAA in den Ladeschächten 1 bis 4 und zusätzlich
2 x Typ 9 V-Block in den Ladeschächten 5 und 6.
♦ Der Ladevorgang beginnt nun. Das Akku-Ladegerät besitzt je eine LED für je-
des Fach im Ladeschacht. Die LEDs der jeweiligen Ladeschächte zeigen den
Ladezustand der einzelnen Akkus an. Zusätzlich werden die Ladezustände
noch im Display angezeigt.

Betriebszustandsanzeigen
Die verschiedenen Anzeigen haben folgende Bedeutungen:
■ Die LED blinkt im Sekundentakt rot und grün und die Balken im Akkusymbol
bewegen sich abwechselnd von unten nach oben und umgekehrt: Die Akkus
werden abwechselnd geladen und entladen (Refresh-Funktion: Ältere oder
lange gelagerte Akkus werden wieder aufgefrischt.).
■ Die LED blinkt im Sekundentakt grün und die Balken im Akkusymbol bewegen
sich von unten nach oben: Ein tiefentladener Akku wird mit einem reduziertem
Ladestrom schonend vorgeladen.
■ Die LED leuchtet durchgehend rot und die Balken im Akkusymbol bewegen
sich von unten nach oben: Die Akkus werden mit dem maximalen Ladestrom
geladen.
■ Die LED leuchtet durchgehend grün und alle Balken im Akkusymbol leuchten
dauerhaft: Die Akkus sind vollständig geladen und das Akku-Ladegerät
schaltet auf Erhaltungsladung um.
Berechnung der durchschnittlichen Ladezeit
Abhängig von Typ, Alter und Restladezustand der Akkus dauert der Aufl adevorgang unterschiedlich lange. Die durchschnittlichen Ladezeiten können Sie mit
Hilfe nachstehender Formel berechnen. Beachten Sie jedoch, dass es sich bei
den berechneten Zeiten nur um Richtwerte handelt.

Ladestrom des Gerätes (mA)
Automatische Ladekontrolle/Erhaltungsladung
Dieses Akku-Ladegerät steuert die Ladezeit für Akkus vom Typ Ni-Cd und Ni-MH
separat. Dieser Steuerung liegt das –Δ U („minus Delta U“) Verfahren zugrunde.
Mit dem Delta Δ bezeichnet man in der Mathematik Diff erenzen. „Minus Delta
U“ bedeutet in diesem Fall eine negative Spannungsdiff erenz.
Diese Ladeschlusserkennung macht sich folgenden Eff ekt zu nutze: Wird ein
Akku mit konstantem Strom geladen, steigt seine Spannung immer weiter an. Ist
ein Akku voll, so erreicht seine Spannung jedoch ein Maximum und fällt bei weiterem Stromfl uss wieder leicht ab. Dieser leichte Spannungsabfall wird von der
Ladeelektronik erkannt und der Ladevorgang wird beendet. Das Akku-Ladegerät
schaltet automatisch auf „Erhaltungsladung“. Das heißt, die Akkus werden nicht
mehr mit Dauerstrom, sondern mit kurzen Stromimpulsen geladen. Dadurch wird
der Selbstentladung entgegengewirkt und die Akkus werden in einem vollständigen Ladezustand gehalten.

Timersteuerung
Zusätzlich verfügt das Akku-Ladegerät über eine Timersteuerung, welche nach
17 Stunden automatisch in die Erhaltungsladung wechselt. Dies dient als zusätzlicher Schutz vor Überladung, falls die Ladeschlusserkennung aufgrund eines evtl.
defekten Akkus nicht reagiert.
