WHAT IS SKYPE™?
Skype™ is a fun and easy to use software that enables you to make free and inexpensive internet calls to anyone,
anytime, anywhere around the globe. It's as simple as downloading Skype's free software with the people you'd like to
communicate with and you're all on your way to free calling. Call anyone, anywhere in the world from family back home,
friends in different countries, to business partners throughout the globe and talk for as long as you'd like for free!
Skype™, founded in 2003 and now an E-bay owned company, is the world's leading service provider of Voice Over
Internet Protocol (VoIP), the technology that takes advantage of sending and receiving calls over your high-speed internet
connection.
GETTING STARTED
To get started, simply download Skype's free software on to a computer with high speed internet access and start talking
using a microphone (built-in or headset) and speakers. VoIP calls can also be made using a traditional handset, by either
attaching an analog telephone adapter (ATA) to a regular phone or by using a special IP phone available in USB, Bluetooth
or WI-FI supported models. With the growing number of hotspots available in public locations such as airports, hotels and
cafes, making calls on the go is also possible through the use of a laptop or other wireless enabled devices.

Skype™ works like any other phone that reaches and receives
calls from traditional and mobile phones from any local, long
distance or international number. Calls from Skype to Skype
user are always free, regardless of where you or the person you

SkypeOut
Contacting someone at a regular number or mobile phone is
called SkypeOUT. Similar to prepaid phone cards and pay-asyou-go cell phones, SkypeOUT calls are made by purchasing
credit from Skype's website via credit card to cover the cost of
the call. But don't worry, with lower overall rates, quality digital
reception, and 2.1 cents per minute to 20 of the most popular
call destinations, you still save with Skype™.

SkypeIN
With SkypeIN, you can get a regular phone number where non
Skype™ users or people calling from an ordinary or mobile
phone can reach you by dialing direct. This allows you to
receive all your calls in clear Skype™ format and still reap the
cost benefits of VoIP technology. Here's how it works; you can
get up to 10 different phone numbers with any area or country
code you'd like, and regardless of where you are physically, on
the other side of the continent or the world, the phone will ring
just as if you were in the area assigned to your phone. Best of
all, you can mix and match numbers with people and the
places that call you the most. This lets you pass the savings on
because as long as the person calling you is from the same
area code as one of your phone numbers, your conversation
will be charged to them as a local call. SkypeIN numbers are
available on a 3 month and 12 month subscription fee basis
which includes free Skype™ Voicemail.
