INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of this Traeger Wood Pellet Grill, Model BBQPIG.
NOTE: NUMBERS FOLLOWING PART NAMES REFER TO THE COMPONENT
DIAGRAM FOUND NEAR THE END OF THIS MANUAL.
After removing the box from the Grill, remove all parts from inside the Grill. Remove any
remaining packaging material from inside the Grill as well. Make sure you have, and can
identify all of the following parts:

You will need to complete the assembly process by:
1) Unpack the grill
2) Installing the Casters (27, 28)
3) Install Front and Rear Leg Assemblies. (5, 6)
4) Install Pig Ear Assemblies. (9)
5) Install Door Handle (10) to Door (2).
6) Positioning the Heat Baffle (33) over the Firepot (34)
7) Setting the Grease Drai n Pan (34) over the Heat Baffle (33)
8) Placing the Porcelain Grill (35) on the Grill Supports.
9) Hanging the Grease Bucket (38) on the Bucket Hook.
TOOLS REQUIRED FOR ASSEMBLY:
One each 1/4" drive socket, Nut Driver, or Wrench.
One each Phillips head screw driver.
Follow these step by step instructions and you will be cooking in no time!
SECTION ONE: ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
REMOVING THE SHIPPING BR ACKETS:
Remove the box and the packaging materials from the grill. Keep them until you have
inspected the grill. Once you have inspected the grill then the packaging can be
discarded.
INSTALLING THE CASTERS TO LEG ASSEMBLIES:
Insert Caster W/Lock (27) onto the Front Leg Assembly (5) and Rear Leg Assembly (6)
as shown. Then insert Caster W/O Lock onto Front Leg Assembly (5) and Rear Leg
Assembly (6) as shown.
INSTALLING LEG ASSEMBLIES TO GRILL FRAME:
This portion of the assembly process will require two people for safety.
Carefully lay the Grill on its back on a non-abrasive surface. Install the front leg
assembly (5) onto the grill frame aligning the mounting holes with the holes in the body.
Secure using 4 each 1/4-20 PPHD screws (25) and 1/4 flat washers (26). Repeat the
process on the rear leg assembly (6). With your helper, stand the Grill upright.
INSTALL EAR ASSEMBLIES TO GRILL FRAME:
Insert the Ear Assembly (9) onto the Grill Frame Assembly aligning it with the prepunched holes and secure using 2 each #8 self drilling Screws (14). Repeat the process
with the other ear.
INSTALL DOOR HANDLE TO DOOR:
Insert the 1/4 flat washer (12) onto the 1/4-20 x .375 Bolt (11) and insert into slot in
Door Assembly (2) then thread into the door handle (10). Repeat the process on
the other side. Note do not over tighten the bolts to the handle.
NOTE: If at this point you are ready to start your Grill, refer to the INITIAL FIRING
INSTRUCTIONS in SECTION TWO of this manual or on a separate sheet in the
PELLET HOPPER before proceeding with further assembly.
WARNING!
Many parts of the Grill will become very hot during operation. Care must be taken
to avoid burns, both during operation and afterwards, while the Grill is still hot. It
should never be left unattended when young children are present. Never move
the Grill when it is operating. Let it thoroughly cool before moving or attempting
to transport.
POSITIONING THE HEAT BAFFLE:
Position The Heat Baffle (1) directly over the Firepot (101) on the two locating brackets
found on the inside walls of the Grill. The notched legs of the Heat Baffle (146) should
be pointing downward to fit onto the locating brac kets .
POSITIONING THE GREASE DRAIN P AN:
RECOMMENDATION for ease of clean-up: Line the Grease Drain Pan (34) with
heavy-duty aluminum foil. Be sure the edges and ends of the foil are tight against
the bottom of the Grease Drain Pan (34).
Position the Grease Drain Pan (34) so that the Short Lip end hooks over the Grease
Drain Pan Support. The Long Lip end should rest in the V-Shaped Gr ease Dr ai n located
inside the Grill on the right.
POSITIONING THE PORCELAIN GRILL:
Position the Porcelain Grill (35) on the Grill Supports that run the length of the cooking
area.
HANGING THE GREASE BUCKET:
Locate the Grease Drain Tube on the right end of the Grill beneath the head. Hang the
Grease Bucket (38) on the Bucket Hook.
