INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of this Traeger Wood Pellet Grill, Model BBQ300.
With proper set-up, operation and maintenance, the Grill will provide you with delicious food
and years of cooking enjoyment.
NOTE: NUMBERS FOLLOWING PART NAMES REFER TO THE COMPONENT
DIAGRAM FOUND NEAR THE END OF THIS MANUAL.
When you un-box the Grill, remove all parts from the box and inside the Grill. Remove
any remaining packaging material from inside the Grill as well. Make sure you have, and
can identify all of the following parts:

You will need to complete the assembly which includes:
1) Attaching the Side Shelves (308) to the Grill.
2) Installing Heat Baffle (310) over the Firepot Assembly (222).
3) Positioning the Grease Drain Pan (313) over the Heat Baffle (310).
4) Positioning the Porcelain Grill (317) on the Grill Supports.
7) Hanging the Grease Bucket (301).
TOOLS ARE SUPPLIED FOR ASSEMBLY
(1) Box end wrench
Follow these step-by-step instructions and you’ll be cookin’ in no time!
SECTION ONE: ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
INSTALLING THE SIDE SHELVES:
1) Attach the Side Shelves (308) to both ends of the Grill, referring to the drawing
below. All hardware is supplied in the Hardware Kit (302).
2) Place zinc lock washers and then zinc flat washers on four of the hex head bolts.
(See the enlarged detail.)
3) Align the four holes in one Side Shelf (308) with the four nut inserts found on each
end of the Grill. Screw a bolt with washers into each of the four nut inserts, but
do not tighten at this step.
4) Making sure that the Side Shelf (308) is properly aligned with the Grill body, use the
wrench included in the Hardware Kit (302) to finish tightening the bolts. Do not over
tighten.
5) Repeat the process for the remaining Side Shelf (308).
NOTE: If at this point you are ready to start your Grill, refer to the
INITIAL FIRING INSTRUCTIONS in SECTION TWO of this manual or on
the separate sheet in the PELLET HOPPER before proceeding with
further assembly.
INSTALLING THE HEAT BAFFLE:
Install the Heat Baffle (310) directly over the Firepot Assembly (222) on the locating
brackets found on the bottom of the Firebox. The notched legs of the Heat Baffle (310)
should be facing downward to fit onto the locating brackets.
POSITIONING THE GREASE DRAIN PAN:
RECOMMENDATION for ease of clean-up: Line the Grease Drain Pan (313) with
heavy-duty aluminum foil. Be sure the edges and ends of the foil are tight against
the bottom of the Grease Drain Pan (313).
Position the Grease Drain Pan (313) over the Heat Baffle (310) so that the Short Lip
end hooks over the Grease Drain Pan Support on the left side of the Firebox. The Long
Lip end should rest in the V-Shaped Grease Drain (178) located inside the Firebox on
the right.
