CheckingtheTransmission-OilLevel

Important:Ifyouoperatethemachinewhilethelevelofthetransmissionoilisbelowtherecommended

level,youmaydamagethetransmissionandtheparkingbrake.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface.

2.Starttheengineandrunitfor10minutes.

3.Stoptheengineandremovetheignitionkey .

4.After5minutes,checkthetransmissionoillevelinthesightgauge(Figure1).

Note:Theoillevelshouldcover1/2to3/4ofthesight-gaugewindow.

Note:Ifpossible,draintheoilwhenitiswarm.

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,stoptheengine,andremovethekey.

2.Placeadrainpanundertheforwardholeinthetransmissionshield(Figure2).

3.Throughthetransmissionshield,cleantheareaaroundthetransmissiondrainplug(Figure2).

4.Removethedrainplugandallowthetransmissiontodraincompletely.

5.Cleanthethreadsoftheplug.

6.ApplyPTFEthreadsealingtapetothethreadsoftheplug.

7.Throughthetransmissionshield,securelyinstallthedrainplugintothedrainportofthetransmission.

FillingtheTransmissionwithOil

Transmissionoilcapacity:approximately10L(10.6USqt)—withlterchange

Important:Ifyouoperatethemachinewhilethelevelofthetransmissionoilisbelowtherecommended

level,youmaydamagethetransmissionandtheparkingbrake.

1.Removethellplugfromthellportofthetransmission.

2.Cleanthethreadsoftheplug.

3.ApplyPTFEthreadsealingtapetothethreadsoftheplug.

4.Fillthetransmissionwiththespeciedoilthroughthellport(Figure3).

Important:Whenyoullthetransmissionwithoil,slowlyaddtheoilintothetransmissionto

avoidentrainingairwiththeoil.

Note:Youcanaccessthetransmissionlterfromunderneaththerightsideofthemachine,inboardofthe

hydraulictank.

1.Placeadrainpanunderthetransmission-oillter(Figure4).

2.Puncturethebottomofthetransmissionlter,andallowtheresidualhydraulicuidtodrainintothe drainpan(Figure4).

Note:Useatapered-centerpunchorawltopuncturetheltercase

3.Removethetransmissionlterwithalterwrenchanddiscardthelter(Figure4).

4.Wipecleantheoillteradapterattheseatingsurfaceforthelter.

5.Fillthelterwithhydraulicoil.

6.ApplyathinlayerofcleangreaseoroilontotheO-ringofthenewlter.

7.Installthenewlterbyhandandtightthelter1/2to3/4turnafteritmakescontactwiththelterhead (Figure4).

Important:Donotusealterstrapwrenchtotightenthelter.Astrapwrenchcandentthe

lter,causingittoleak.

8.Starttheengineandrunitatidlefor1minute,andcheckforleaks.

9.Stoptheengineandremovethekey .

10.Checkthetransmissionoillevel;ifthelevelislow,addthespeciedoiltothetransmission;referto

FillingtheTransmissionwithOil(page2).

Important:Whenyoullthetransmissionwithoil,slowlyaddtheoilintothetransmissionto
