1767 and 1768 (stand mixer)
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons including the following:
• Read all instructions before using mixer.
• Close supervision is necessary when mixer is used near children.
• This appliance is not for use by children.
• Do not use mixer unattended.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before
cleaning.
• Do not contact moving parts. Keep hands, hair, clothing, as well as spatulas and other
utensils away from beaters during operation.
• Do not operate a damaged mixer. Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug or after
the mixer malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return mixer
to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or mechanical
adjustment.
• Do not place any part of the unit in or under water or other liquid. See instructions for
cleaning.
• Use accessory attachments only if recommended by Toastmaster Inc.
• Do not use outdoors or while standing in damp area.
• Do not use mixer for other than intended use.
• Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.
• Remove beaters, dough hooks or whisk from mixer before washing them.
• Do not place mixer or cord on or near any hot surface, including a gas or electric burner
or heated oven.

THIS PRODUCT FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.
CAUTION: A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of personal injury resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Extension cords are available from
local hardware stores and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is
required, special care and caution is necessary. Also the cord must be: (1) marked with an
electrical rating of 125 V, and at least 13 A., 1625 W., and (2) the cord must be arranged so that
it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped
over accidentally.
POLARIZED PLUG: This appliance has a polarized plug, (one blade is wider than the other). As
a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
UNPLUG APPLIANCE FROM ELECTRICAL OUTLET BEFORE ASSEMBLING, REMOVING
PARTS OR CLEANING.
HOW TO ASSEMBLE STAND — MODEL 1768 ONLY
1. Place the stand on level surface.
2. Place bearing ring on base, either side up.
3. Place turntable shaft over bearing ring and into hole in base.
4. Hold turntable in place and insert plug from bottom of stand into shaft.
STAND MIXER — MODEL 1768 ONLY
1. Unplug from outlet.
2. Slide front of mixer back to engage front tab on stand with slot in bottom of mixer.
3. Press in on lock button and push down on back of mixer to lock into place.
4. To remove, unplug from outlet, press in on lock button and pull mixer up and forward.
5. Remove for storage or to use as a hand mixer.
LOCK BUTTON
BEATERS — ALL MODELS
1. Position speed control button to OFF-EJECT.
2. Unplug from outlet.
3. Press the beater with the collar into the left opening (marked L on bottom of mixer) until it
clicks into position. Insert the other beater.
4. Plug into 120 V ~ 60 Hz outlet.
5. Start on the lowest speed 1 and increase speed as needed.
6. To remove, unplug from outlet, grasp stems and firmly press down on the OFF-EJECT
button. See cleaning instructions.
DOUGH HOOKS — MODELS 1765, 1766S, 1767 and 1768 ONLY
1. Position speed control button to OFF-EJECT.
2. Unplug from outlet.
3. Press the dough hook with the collar into left opening (marked L on bottom of mixer) until
it clicks into position. Insert other dough hook.
4. Plug into 120 V ~ 60 Hz outlet.
5. Mix dough according to recipe or package directions.
6. Knead dough using speed 1, increasing speed if necessary. Knead for 15 seconds to 2
minutes according to recipe directions and quantity of dough or until it is smooth and elastic.
7. To remove, unplug from outlet, grasp stems and firmly press down on the OFF-EJECT
button. See cleaning instructions.
WHISK — MODELS 1765, 1766S AND 1767 ONLY
1. Position speed control button to OFF-EJECT.
2. Unplug from outlet.
3. Press the whisk into either opening on bottom of mixer until it clicks into position.
6. To remove, unplug from outlet, grasp stem and firmly press down on the OFF-EJECT
button. See cleaning instructions.

POWER BOOST CONTROL — MODELS 1765, 1766S, 1767 AND
1768 ONLY
1. For tough mixing tasks, hold down on button as long as necessary for extra power at
any speed.
2. Release button to return to original speed.
CLEANING MIXER AND BEATERS
CAUTION: UNPLUG APPLIANCE BEFORE CLEANING. NEVER PLACE ANY PART OF
APPLIANCE IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS.
1. Position speed control button to OFF-EJECT.
2. Unplug from outlet.
3. Grasp stems of beaters, hooks or whisk and firmly press down on the speed control button.
4. Wash, rinse and dry beaters, hooks or whisk by hand after each use or wash in dishwasher.
5. Wipe body of mixer with a damp cloth.
CLEANING STAND AND BOWL — MODEL 1768 ONLY
1. Remove turntable and bearing ring from mixer stand by removing plug from bottom of
stand. Wash, rinse and dry thoroughly by hand. DO NOT PLACE IN DISHWASHER.
2. Wash, rinse and dry the bowl thoroughly after each use by hand or wash in the dishwasher.
3. Reassemble stand before storing.
Any servicing requiring disassembly other than the above cleaning must be performed
by an authorized service center.

This appliance must be serviced by a Toastmaster authorized service center. Unauthorized
service will void warranty. Consult your phone directory under “Appliances-Household-SmallService and Repair”, or call 1-800-947-3744 in the U.S. and Canada, or 52-5-397-2848 in
Mexico.
If an authorized service center is not available locally, your appliance may be returned postage
prepaid to our National Service Center at the address shown in the warranty statement. Products
must be adequately protected to avoid shipping damage. Surround your appliance with three
inches of protective padding and include a note explaining the problem you have experienced.
We recommend insuring your package. No C.O.D. shipments accepted.

Toastmaster Inc. warrants this product, to original purchaser, for one year from purchase date to be free of
defects in material and workmanship.
This warranty is the only written or express warranty given by Toastmaster Inc. This warranty gives you specific
legal rights. You may have other rights which vary from state to state. ANY OTHER RIGHT WHICH YOU MAY
HAVE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.
Defective product may be brought or sent (freight prepaid) to an authorized service center listed in the phone
book, or to Service Department, Toastmaster Inc., 708 South Missouri St., Macon, MO 63552, for free repair
or replacement at our option.
Your remedy does not include: cost of inconvenience, damage due to product failure, transportation damages,
misuse, abuse, accident or the like, or commercial use. IN NO EVENT SHALL TOASTMASTER INC. BE LIABLE
FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or allow the exclusion or limitation
of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
