indicated inside the battery compartment. Replace only with
the type of batteries specified above. Do not dispose of them
in a fire or recharge them.
• If you are not using the remote control for a long period of
time, remove the batteries.

1. Slide the battery lock on the left side of the player to
the OPEN position to open the battery
compartment.The door opens. Lay the battery flat as
indicated in the drawing opposite.
2. Install the battery into the compartment with the
label facing up and the arrow pointing toward the
player. Push it all the way until you hear it click into
place.
3. Slide the battery lock to the right to close the
compartment door.
Plug the appropriate plug of the
adapter into the DC IN socket of the
player.The battery takes about 3
hours to fully charge when the player
is switched off and a little longer if
the player is on.

Removing the battery
1. Slide the battery lock on the left side of the player to the OPEN position to open the battery
compartment.The door opens.
2. Press the battery release tab located on the right side of the battery compartment to the
right. Pull out the battery.

Connections
Connection to a television set
To watch your DVDs on your television set, connect the player to the television set using the
audio/video cables provided.
Make sure the AV SELECT IN/OUT switch on the back of the player is set to OUT.
Note: In order to see the images on your television set, do not forget to select the appropriate AV input on the
television set.
Connecting headphones
In order to connect headphones, use one of the two headphones sockets situated on the side of
the player.

Connecting another appliance
In order to see images coming from another appliance on the LCD screen of the DVD player,
connect the other appliance to the player using the audio/video cables (provided).
Make sure the AV SELECT IN/OUT switch on the back of the player is set to IN.

Basic playback operations

Note: Do not try to play irregularly-shaped CDs
(e.g. heart-shaped or octagonal).

Regional coding
Your DVD player has been designed to process
regional management information that is
stored on DVD discs.DVD discs that have
different regional codes to that of your player
cannot be played.The regional code for your
player is 2 (Europe, the Middle East,South
Africa, Japan). ALL means all regions.When you
buy a disc check that it bears the correct logo.
Operating the DVD player
1. Place the player on a table or on a stable
surface.
You can also use the stand on the back of
the player.
Pull out the

Using the menus
•Disc menu – The appearance and contents
of this menu vary according to the type of
disc you have inserted and are independent

Playback
Switch the DVD player on.
1. Slide the OPEN button to the right to
open the disc compartment.
2. Put the disc in with the printed side
upwards (in the case of a single-sided disc).
3. Close the disc compartment.
•Play starts automatically, or
• the Disc menu appears. One of its options
can be selected to start playing the disc.

Note:The player stores the point where playback
