1 Read these instructions. 2 Keep these instructions. 3 Heed all warnings. 4 Follow all instructions. 5 Do not use this apparatus near water. 6 Clean only with dry cloth. 7 Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
8 Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers,
stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9 Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type
plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10 Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at
plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the
apparatus. 11 Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. 1 2 Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the
manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use
caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury
from tip-over.
13 Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long
periods of time.
14 Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required
when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power­supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. Do not expose this apparatus to drips or splashes.
Do not place any objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the
apparatus.
Do not install this apparatus in a confined space such as a book case
or similar unit.

earphones or headphones can cause hearing loss. If you are experiencing problems with this product, contact TEAC for a
service referral. Do not use the product until it has been repaired.

1 – Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the TASCAM US-100 USB Audio Interface.
Please read this manual carefully before you begin using the unit so that you can use it correctly and enjoy using it for a long time. After you have read this manual, keep it nearby for reference when needed.

Precautions for placement

The environmental temperature operation range of this unit is
5–35° C (41–95° F).
Do not place anything on top of unit because it generates
much heat.
Do not put this unit on top of a power amplifier or other
equipment that generates heat.

Beware of condensation

Condensation could occur if the unit is moved from a cold place to a warm place or used after a sudden temperature change, such as after a cold room has been heated. If this occurs, let the unit sit for one or two hours at the new room temperature before turning the power on.

Cleaning the unit

To clean the unit, wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth. Do not use benzene, paint thinner, ethyl alcohol or other chemical agents to clean the unit as they could damage the surface or cause fading.

Overload indicator (OL)•
This lights if the input level is too high.
Signal indicator (SIG)•
This lights when the input level is high enough to be detected.
INPUT knob•
Use this to adjust the input level. Turn it right to increase the sound volume. This functions as a gain knob, so turning it all the way to the left (minimum) does not completely cut the input sound.
BALANCE knob•
Use this to balance the mix of the sounds input into the unit and the sound from the computer when monitoring. Turn it all the way to the left to hear only the input sound or all the way to the right to hear only the sound from the computer.
OUTPUT knob•
Use this to adjust the level output from the PHONES and OUTPUT jacks. Turn right to increase the volume.
USB indicator•
This lights when the USB connection is working correctly.
