Warranty Terms & Conditions
1. TEAC warrants to the original retail purchaser only, that this product is free from defects in material and workmanship under normal domestic use and authorises free service during the warranty period at any TEAC Authorised Service Centre only. TEAC warranty only applies to products purchased, used and serviced in Australia.
2. Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers the equipment as specified in the Warranty Periods Table below from the date of purchase.

3. In home service will only be provided as part of this warranty if all the following conditions are met;
a) The product as indicated in the Warranty Period Table. b) The product is within the warranty period.
c) The product is located within the normal service area of the local TEAC Authorised Service Centre. In any other situation or circumstance, where an in home service call is made, a service fee will be charged by the Service Provider including a travel fee if outside normal service area.
If TEAC determines that the product is not repairable on site, TEAC can complete the repair by taking the product to a TEAC Authorised Service Centre.
Where in-home service is not available, the purchaser is required to send the product to the nearest TEAC Authorised Service Centre for repair. In this event, a copy of this warranty card and a copy of your receipt of purchase must be enclosed to be a valid warranty. Such equipment or part must be sent freight prepaid to your nearest TEAC Authorised Service Centre. After the repair, the product will be available for collection by or return to the purchaser at purchaser’s cost. The warranty does not cover freight or insurance. In all cases of transit damage or lost, a claim must be filed against the carrier by the purchaser, even if shipment is arranged by TEAC. TEAC in­home service may also be available at a fee upon request.
4. Accessories, Remote, including power adaptors, AV box, TV tuners, etc, are warranted to be defect free for 1 year.
5. Replacement of spare parts under normal usage; except cabinet, front panel, knob, removable accessories, battery, consumable, AC cord, connecting cord and other accessories, are warranted as specified in Warranty Periods Table, and will be repaired or replaced at the sole judgement of TEAC.
6. The warranties hereby conferred do not extend to, and exclude, any cost associated with the installation, de­installation or re-installation of a product (be it in-home or otherwise), including costs related to the mounting, demounting or remounting of any screen, (and any other ancillary activities), delivery, handling, freighting, transportation or insurance of the product or any part thereof or replacement of and do not extend to, and exclude, any damage or loss occurring by reason of, during, associated with, or related to such installation, de-installation, re-installation or transit.
7. Normal customer maintenance as described in the owner’s manual is not covered by this warranty (such as cleaning VCR heads etc.)
8. Service will be provided only during normal business hours and under safety conditions and circumstances.
9. This warranty does not apply to equipment showing abuse, damage or that it may have been tampered with, altered or repaired outside any TEAC Authorised Service Centre. If so, the warranty will be void.

10. No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in connection with the sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined above.

1. When loading or removing discs, try not to touch their playing surfaces as the right
figure.
2. Fingerprints or stain on the disc may affect the quality of sound and picture. To
clean your discs, use a soft clean cloth to wipe them. If necessary, moisten a soft cloth with diluted neutral detergent to remove heavy dirt or fingerprints.
3. Do not wipe in a circular direction as the figure in the right middle (concentric
scratches on the disc groove tend to cause noise). Gently wipe from the center of the disc to the outer edge as the right figure.

Remote Control
Preparation
Follow the steps below to install the battery.
1. Pull the battery holder out from the remote control in the direction of the arrow.
2. Load a new battery properly with the (+) sided up.
3. Insert the battery holder back into the remote control.
Battery type: CR2025 3V Battery service life: approximately 1 year under normal use (at room temperature).
Use of Remote Control
Point the remote control unit to the remote sensor within the range of 5 meters and angles of 60 degree, and without obstacles between remote control and remote sensor.
Note:
Improper use of the battery may cause
overheating, explosion or ignition, which can result in an injury or a fire. Battery leakage may damage the remote control.
Do not expose the remote control unit to
direct sunlight.
Do not recharge, disassemble, deform or
heat the battery.
Do not put the battery in fire or water. Immediately replace the empty battery. Take out battery when the remote is not in
use for a long time.

Ensure that you have observed the color cables when connecting audio and video
cables.

Connecting External AV Signal Source
Use the AV cable to connect external AV signal source, such as DVD to the unit. After connecting, switch AV IN/OUT to AV IN.
Note: Noise may occur when there is an external audio signal input while playing a DVD disc. Unplug the audio cord to clear the noise.
Connecting Headphone
Connect headphone to the headphone jack of the unit. When the headphone is connected, the speakers will turn off automatically.
Note: Excessively loud volume could damage your hearing. Turn down the volume before you connect headphone, and then raise the volume to comfortable level.

Power Supply Preparation
Using AC Adaptor
The unit is supplied with an AC adaptor for powering the unit and charging the battery.
Plug one end of AC adaptor to the unit’s power jack and the other end into a wall
C outlet, as shown right.
Note:
Turn the unit's power off before unplugging. In the case of using the adaptor, the LCD screen will be brighter than using the
rechargeable battery.
Using Car Adaptor
The unit is supplied with a Car Adaptor for powering the unit and charging the battery in a vehicle.
Plug one end of car adaptor to the unit’s power jack and the other end to the vehicle’s 12V cigarette lighter socket, as shown right.
Note:
Disconnect the unit from the car adaptor when starting the vehicle. Do not operate the unit or view programs while driving a vehicle. Detach battery pack when using the AC or car adaptor as power source. Place the unit in a proper position for viewing. The electrical outlets in the cars are not suitable for charging the lithium polymer
battery.

Rechargeable Battery
About Rechargeable Battery Pack
The unit comes with a lithium polymer rechargeable battery that attaches to the bottom of the unit. Charge the battery fully before initial use. Charging time is normally about 3 hours. A fully charged battery delivers about 2.5 hours of use but playing time varies from disc to disc. If the battery will not be used for a long period of time, charge the battery fully before storage.
Working conditions and precautions for the rechargeable battery:
New battery should be fully charged before initial use. Battery should only be used and charged when temperature is between 32-100F. Never put the battery in fire or water. Do not expose the battery to high temperature or store in hot, sunny place. Maintain well-ventilated conditions around the product to avoid overheating. Don’t
put the product on a bed, sofa or anything that may block ventilation to the product.
Do not short the battery terminals. Do not open the battery. Detach the battery after charging is complete. When charging the battery, the
charge light is red; when charging is complete, the light is green.
Detach the battery when it is not in use. When the battery is weak, low power indicator will appear on the LCD screen. The
unit will turn off automatically several minutes later.
Warning:
Do not touch any metal object to the battery connectors, as it will put the battery in standby mode. To exit the standby mode, connect the battery and the unit to AC or DC power.

Attaching the Battery Pack
Refer to the following steps for attaching the Battery Pack:
1. With one hand on the unit to prevent it from moving, take the battery and align the plastic tabs on the battery pack with holes on the unit, and push the battery pack into the unit.
2. Slide the battery pack until you hear it click and lock into place.
Charging the Battery Pack
The battery pack must be attached to the unit to charge it by using the supplied AC power adaptor.
1. Attach the battery pack to the unit.
2. Plug one end of AC adaptor to the unit’s power jack and the other end into a wall AC outlet, as shown below.

Detaching the Battery Pack
The unit still consumes some power in standby mode, which will eventually discharge the battery. If the battery will not be used for a long period of time, the battery pack should be detached.
Make sure the power is turned off before detaching the battery pack.
1. Press and hold the batter y release tab in the direction of the arrow as shown below.
2. Slide the battery pack gently towards the direction of the arrow as shown below.
3. Carefully remove the battery pack from the unit.

Playback Operation
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING YOUR UNIT FOR THE FIRST TIME.
WARNING: Do not play poor quality discs to avoid damaging the lens.
Preparation
1. Connect the unit to power supply through the provided adaptor.
2. Switch POWER ON/OFF to ON to turn on the unit.
3. Push the OPEN switch to open the disc tray cover. Put a disc in the disc tray with printed side up. Then close the disc cover. See the figures below.
4. The unit will search disc and enter the disc searching status.
5. Adjust the volume with the VOLUME control to desired level.
6. To turn the unit off, switch the POWER ON/OFF to OFF.
Basic Operation
MODE Button
Press the MODE button and then press the  button on the panel to adjust brightness or color of the screen; press the MODE button and hold it for several seconds to change the aspect ratio of the screen among 16:9, and 4:3. See the figures below for details:
DVD Playback
Region Code DVD players and discs are coded by region. These regional codes must match with the played discs. If the codes don’t match, the disc cannot be played. This player’s default code is region 4.

Playback Operation
Button
During playback, press the resume normal playback.
STOP Button During playback, press the STOP button once to stop playback and press the PLAY button to resume normal playback from the spot where the STOP button is pressed. Press the STOP button twice repeatedly to stop playback completely.
Previous and Next Buttons During playback, press the button to go to the previous chapter; press the button to go to next chapter.
Fast Playback Buttons
During playback, press the button (and hold it for several seconds) to start fast backward playback; press the button (and hold it for several seconds) to start fast forward playback. Press it (and hold it for several seconds) repeatedly to fast playback at the speed of 2X, 4X, 8X, 16X, 32X and normal in sequence. During fast playback, press the PLAY button to return to normal playback.
SLOW Button During playback, press the SLOW button to slow forward and slow rewind playback at the speed of 1/2 – 1/4 – 1/8 – 1/16. During slow playback, press the PLAY button to resume normal playback.
ZOOM Button During playback, press the ZOOM button repeatedly to shift among 2x - 3x - 4x - 1/2 ­1/3 - 1/4 - normal size in sequence.
A-B Button During playback, press the A-B button to select the segment to repeat. Press once to select the starting point A, press again to select the end point B and the unit will play the segment between A-B continuously. Press the A-B button the third time to cancel the repeat.

MENU Button
During playback, press the MENU button to display the root menu on the screen. On the menu, Press the  button to select item and press the ENTER button to confirm. Or press the 0-9 and +10 buttons to select the item directly.
TITLE Button In general, the content of a DVD disc can be divided into several titles, and also there are several menus in a title.
During playback, press the TITLE button to display the title menu on the screen. On the menu, press the  button to select title and press the ENTER button to confirm. Or press the 0-9 and +10 buttons to select the item directly.
REP Button Press it repeatedly to repeat a Chapter, Title, All or cancel repeat in sequence.
Some discs do not support the repeat function.
INFO Button Press to open or close display of the detailed information of current playback.
GOTO Button During playback, press the GOTO button to enter the menu to select desired title, chapter or playback time, etc. On the menu, use the  button to select the item and press the ENTER button to enter. Use the number button or  button to set and press the ENTER button to confirm. Press the GOTO button again to exit.
Some DVD discs do not support the search function.
AUDIO Button Press to select audio language if the disc contains multi-audio languages.
SUBT Button Press to select subtitle language or set subtitle off if the disc contains multi-subtitle languages.
ANGLE Button Press the ANGLE button to select angle if the disc contains multi-angle. Multi-angle means that a scene is shot from different angles, as shown below:

CD Playback
After loading a CD disc, the unit will play all tracks on the disc by default.
Button During playback, press the resume normal playback.
STOP Button
During playback, press the STOP button once to stop playback and press the PLAY button to resume normal playback from the spot where the STOP button is pressed. Press the STOP button twice repeatedly to stop playback completely.

GOTO Button During playback, press the GOTO button repeatedly to enter desired disc playback time, track time or track. On each menu, use the 0-9 buttons and the +10 button to input number and the unit will skip there.
REP Button Press it repeatedly to repeat a Track, All or cancel repeat in sequence.
INFO Button Press the INFO button to open or close display of the detailed information of current playback.

Playback Operation
JPEG Playback
JPEG is a common picture format that requires small amounts of storage per image and has low loss in resolution. Hundreds of pictures can be stored on a disc in this format. In order to view JPEG photo albums, you can ask your film development company to make a ”PICTURE CD” when they develop your film.
Normal Playback
After loading a JPEG disc, the screen displays the root folder. Press the  button to select a folder and press the ENTER button to enter. On the folder, press the  button to select files and press the PLAY button to play; press the  button to return to the previous folder.
Many discs have other contents besides pictures.
Button
During playback, press the button to pause playback and press the button to resume normal playback.
STOP Button
During playback, press the STOP button to enter picture pre-view mode. Press the  button to select a picture and press the ENT button to play.

During playback, press the button to go to the previous picture; press the button to go to next picture
ZOOM Button
During playback, press the ZOOM button first and then press button to zoom in the picture as follows: 125%-150%-200%; press button to zoom out the picture as follows: 75%-50%. Press ZOOM again to exit.
MENU Button
During playback, press the MENU button to return to folder mode. Press the PLAY button or the ENTER button to resume normal playback.
REP Button
Press it repeatedly and repeat mode will shift as follows:

During playback, press the GOTO button and press 0-9 buttons to select and show the desired picture.
In folder mode, press it to highlight folder number, press 0-9 buttons to input number to enter the desired one.

While viewing a picture, press the  button to rotate the picture. During playback, press the button to rotate the current picture clockwise:

Preparations
Follow the steps below to change the default settings of the unit if necessary.
1. Press the SETUP button to enter setup menu mode.
2. Press the  button to select a menu.
3. Press the  button to select item on the menu to setup.

Definitions
Letterbox screen
This refers to a screen on which the playback picture of wide-screen DVDs appears with black bands running along the top and bottom.
Pan & Scan screen
This refers to a screen on which the playback picture of wide-screen DVDs is cut off at the left and right sides.
Title, Chapter (DVD)
DVDs are divided into some large sections (titles) or some small sections (chapters). Each section is numbered: these numbers are called Title number or Chapter number. Title 1 Title 2 Chapter1 Chapter 1 Chapter2 …… ……
Track (CD)
CDs are divided into some sections (tracks). Each section is numbered; these numbers are called Track number. Track 1 Track 2 Track 3 ……
JPEG
JPEG is a common picture format that has small file size and low quality loss rate of picture. Hundreds of pictures can be stored in a disc in this format. In order to utilize real digital album, use film to make a Picture CD in JPEG format.

Troubleshooting
If you suspect something wrong with this unit, immediately turn the power off and
disconnect the power connector from the unit. Take steps described in the tables below
to solve simple problems before contacting customer service. Never try to repair the unit
yourself because it is dangerous to do so.
