Handhabung und

Pflege der

Compact

Disc

Die Handhabung der Compact

Disc ist

bedeutend einfacher

und

pro

blemloser

als die einer herkömmlichen Langspielplatte. Trotzdem

müssen

bei der

Handhabung einige Punkte

unbedingt

beachtet

werden. Dazu ist

es

notwendig, den Aufbau

der Compact

Disc zu

l<ennen.

Der eigentliche lnformationsträger,

die

hauchdünne Aluminium

Schicht, wird auf eine relativ starke. lichtdurchlässige Trägerschicht

aufgetragen. Auf die Aluminium-Schicht wird

später

das Label

(Etikette)

aufgedruckt

Obwohl dre Compact Disc durch die Trägerschicht hindurch abgeta

stet wird, ist

die

für Kratzer empfindlichste

Seite die bedruckte

Seite,

da Farbe

und

Lack hier

der einzige Schutz der hauchdünnen

Alumi-

nium-Schicht

sind. Auf der bedruckten

Seite

kann

ein

Kratzer den Ab

spielvorgang

stören

oder

gar

verunmöglichen, während

er sich

auf der

Abtastseite kaum

bemerkbar

macht.

Das

gewonnene

Gesamtsignal

wird in Musik-

und

Informationsdaten

getrennt

und überprüft. Fehlerhafte oder

fehlende Daten werden

von

einem leistungsfähigen

Fehlererkennungs System

korngiert oder

ergänzt. Fehlende

Daten

(durch

Kratzer entstanden) werden durch

lnterpolation

(Mittelwert

aus der Abtastung

vor

und

nach dem Fehler)

Compact Disc erübrigt sich. wenn sie nur am Rand

angefasst und

Verschmutzte

Compact Discs können

auf der Abtastseite

(spiegelnde

Fläche) mit einem fusselfreien,

weichen und trockenen Tuch in

gerader

Linie vom Zentrum

zum Rand abgewischt werden. Auf keinen

Fall darf irgend ein Lösungs-

oder Scheuermittel verwendet werden.

Handling of the compact disc

precautions

are to be observed.

For this

purpose

it is necessary to

explain the design of a disc

The ultrathin aluminium layer. that

holds

the information, is applied

to

a

transparent substrate.

The label is

subsequently

printed

on this

aluminium layer.

Although the compact

disc

is scanned through

the substrate,

the side

carrying

the

label is more

sensitive

to

scratches because the

printing

ink

and the varnish are the only

protection

for the extremely thin

aluminium coating.

On the

printed

side a

scratch can

interfere with the

reproduction

process

and

render it

even impossible, while on the

scanning side a scratch

goes

virtually unnoticed.

Cleaning of

the compact

disc is not necessary as long as

can be cleaned

on

scanning side

(specular

surface) by wiping it ln
