Product description
The Stryker Model 6373/6376/6381 ambulance cot fastener holds a compatible ambulance cot in an emergency vehicle
for patient transport purposes. The Model 6373/6376/6381 ambulance cot fastener performs this function after the user
manually loads the compatible cot into the emergency vehicle and guides it into the fastener.
Indications for use
The Model 6373/6376/6381 manual cot fastener secures compatible ambulance cots during transport. The fastener is
intended for use in pre-hospital environments, in emergency and non-emergency applications. Operate the product by
trained professionals only. This includes emergency medical service and medical first responders.
Expected service life
Cot fasteners have a seven year expected service life under normal use conditions and with appropriate periodic
maintenance.

beneath the mounting surface (ambulance floor or tray system) at all mounting points. Before putting the system into
service, test the installation using BS EN 1789 as a minimum.
The Model 6100 M-1 cot, equipped with the AS/NZS 4535 upgrade, in combination with a Model 6373/6376/6381 cot
fastener system, is designed in accordance to AS/NZS 4535 Australian/New Zealand Standard - Ambulance Restraint
Systems. The cot fastener system must be installed by qualified personnel to be in conformance to this standard. 1/4 in.
steel backing plates (or equivalent) are required beneath the mounting surface (ambulance floor or tray system) at all
mounting points. Before putting the system into service, test the installation using AS/NZS 4535 as a minimum.
Side restraint belts are required to conform to BS EN 1789 Medical Vehicles and their Equipment - Road Ambulances.
Side restraint belts are not required for applications where this standard does not apply.

The Stryker cot fastener systems are compatible only with cots that conform to the installation specifications.
WARNING
•Install the cot fastener by qualified personnel only. Improper installation could result in injury to the patient or
operator.
•Always make sure that all cots meet the installation specifications for the Stryker cot fastener system.
Note: Federal ambulance specifications regarding aisle width and attendant seating may affect positioning of the
mounting brackets. If specifications do not apply, the installer should make sure that there is adequate clearance for
proper patient access, traction splint projection, rear door closure, etc.
To install the cot fastener in a vehicle:
1.Determine the desired position of the cot inside the vehicle allowing for proper clearance around the cot.
Note: If DIN hardware is already in place, use the dimensions in Figure 1-3 on page 1-8, Figure 1-4 on page 1-9,
Figure 1-5 on page 1-9, and Figure 1-6 on page 1-10 as a reference to locate the fastener assembly.
2.Drill the 18 mounting holes using the assembled fastener as a template.
Note: All dimensions are for reference only. All holes should provide adequate clearance for 8mm screws. A 9mm
drill size is recommended.

Installation checklist
Follow this checklist with a Stryker Ambulance M-1 Cot Fastener Model 6373/6376/6381 compatible cot.
Make sure that you do not have any unused components after installation. Your Stryker ambulance cot fastener
system does not ship with any extra components. If you have any unused components after installation, call
Stryker service.
Visually check that all bolts and screws are tightened with no signs of protruding or missing fasteners.
Lift the vehicle bumper to the raised position, if equipped.
Load the compatible cot into the cot fastener (see Cot compatibility on page 1-6).
Make sure that the cot is locked into the cot fastener by pulling in and out and side to side on the foot end of the
cot.
Test the fastener for proper operation (see Testing the cot fastener on page 1-15).

Operating the cot fastener
WARNING

CAUTION
Improper usage of the product can cause injury to the patient or operator. Operate the product only as described in this
manual.
1.Before you operate the fastener, press the red release button (F) on the latch housing (G) to make sure that the
latch is in the released position (Figure 1-1 on page 1-5).
2.Make sure that the foot end latch housing is between the loading wheels when you load the cot into the fastener.
Note: The fastener guide rails (A) will center the head end of the cot (Figure 1-1 on page 1-5).
3.Guide the cot into the vehicle or loading tray system until the rear latch post locks into the latch housing.
Note: The foot end latch housing is equipped with a two-stage locking device (Figure 1-14 on page 1-14). When the
cot is locked in the fastener, the red release button will return to its original position.

The Stryker Model 6373/6376/6381 cot fastener systems are equipped with a two-stage locking device. In the unlikely
event the vehicle is involved in an accident, the two-stage locking device at the head end of the fastener will deploy to
lock the head end of the cot in the cot fastener system until you manually release the cot.
To release the cot from the two-stage locking device, pull both of the red release knobs (B) on the inside of the front
retaining hooks (C) (Figure 1-14 on page 1-14).

Operation
Testing the cot fastener
To test the fastener:
1.Guide the cot into the cot fastener.
2.Make sure that the head end retaining hooks secure the loading wheel cross tube on the cot.
3.Make sure that the foot end latch housing secures the retaining pin on the cot.
4.Make sure that the two-stage locking device functions and is free of debris.
5.Test the fastener using the appropriate standard as a minimum.

product, keep the pressure nozzle at a minimum of 24 in. (61 cm) from the product.
The product is power washable. The product may show some signs of oxidation or discoloration from continuous
washing. No degradation of the product’s performance will occur from power washing if you follow the proper
procedures.
•Follow the cleaning solution manufacturer’s dilution recommendations exactly.
•Power wash with recommended cleaners. Hose down the product and towel dry the guide.
•Power wash the rails and interface plates with a hand held wand unit or wipe the product with a clean cloth and
recommended cleaners.
Suggested cleaners
In general, when used in concentrations recommended by the manufacturer, either phenolic type or quaternary
(excluding Virex® TB) type disinfectants can be used. Iodophor type disinfectants are not recommended for use
because staining may occur.

Připevňovací systém pro lehátka Stryker Model 6373 upevňuje kompatibilní lehátka pro sanitky ve vozidlech
pohotovostní služby při převozu pacientů. Připevňovací systém 6373 tuto funkci plní poté, kdy uživatel ručně naloží
kompatibilní lehátko do vozidla pohotovostní služby a zavede je do připevňovacího systému.
