VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 Data Projectors Are
Excellent Choices for Both Education and Business
Both the Sony VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 are extremely affordable data projectors that are ideal for a number of
applications, especially in education and businesses. These projectors are not only stylish but also provide a brightness
of 2100 lumens (VPL-EX4) and 2200 lumens (VPL-ES4). Capable of projecting high-quality images, the VPL-EX4 offers
native XGA resolution while the VPL-ES4 offers SVGA resolution. Both the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 come equipped with a
short focal-length lens enabling large screen projection from a very short distance. And the supplied card-type
Remote Commander
Because these projectors were designed primarily for education and business, they are very quiet, include security
features such as a password authentication system and a security bar, and include a variety of interfaces such as a
monitor output, audio output, and RS-232C for control. All of these features combine to make the VPL-EX4 and
VPL-ES4 ideal for both classrooms and conference rooms.

FEATURES
High Picture Quality and Bright Images
The VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 incorporate three high aperture
.63-inch LCD Panels, offering native XGA (1024 x 768)
0
and SVGA (800 x 600) resolution, respectively. A
brightness level of 2100 (VPL-EX4) and 2200 (VPL-ES4)
lumens is achieved resulting from the combination of a
highly efficient optical system and a 165W lamp.
3LCD Projection System
Because the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 use a 3LCD projection
system, projected images are bright and natural. 3LCD is a
projection system using three LCD panels (also known as
high-temperature polysilicon or HTPS). This system provides
high light transmission and excellent color reproduction. It
also provides smooth gradients in dark areas, and even
helps prevent color breakup.
Short Projection Distance
The VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 come equipped with a short
focal-length lens, which makes it possible to project
images from a short distance. For example, an 80-inch

approximately 7-1/2 feet (2.3 meters).
Quiet Operation (Low Fan Noise)
Both the VPL-EX4 and VPL-ES4 have a very low fan noise
allowing audiences to concentrate on the speaker
during presentations.
