Setting Up the
Speakers for Dolby
Pro Logic Surround
Pfoper speaker positioning is essential in
order to achieve directional effects and
diffused ambience, especially in the case of
the surround speakers. Too much direct
sound from the surround speakers can
make its presence too obvious while too
much diffusion may result in a directionless
sound image. If it is not possible to locate
the surround speakers in the preferred way,
experiment with their positioning while
keeping in mind the goal is to achieve a
diffused and enveloping, but not overly
vague, sound field.
4 If, possible, mount the surround
speakers on the walls to the sides of
your listening and viewing area, 25 V8
to 35 '/2 inches above your seated
position, facing each other.
