Connect 3000 to a PC or AC outlet via the bundled micro USB cable to charge the battery without removing it from the camera.
Quickly confirm focus in the composition. A highlight — adjustable over three settings each for sensitivity level and color — appears over areas that are focused.
Set 3000 to recognize faces and smiles. Face Detection locates up to eight faces in a composition then adjusts exposure, white balance and other settings based on these faces. Smile Shutter — adjustable in three levels — automatically takes a shot when smiles in the scene are at their brightest.
Anti Motion Blur / Hand-held Twilight modes (Scene Selection)
Creative Style
Employing Sony image compositing technology, these two modes deliver superb photos with reduced noise and blur when shooting handheld in low-light environments. Anti Motion Blur mode is especially useful for decreasing blur caused by camera shake and subject movement, while Hand-held Twilight mode balances exposure between the main subject and background for pleasing nighttime photos.
Auto HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode / D-range Optimizer (DRO)
Decrease contrast in scenes with extremely dark and light areas. Well suited for stationary subjects, Auto HDR mode combines three images — one each for highlights, mid-tones and shadows — to produce one photo that closely resembles the scene as you saw it. DRO takes only one shot, but can be used for lowering contrast in photos with moving subjects and when using continuous shooting.
