Instructions for proper installation of Sioux Chief PVC transi-
tion ttings.
Assemble PVC solvent weld end of transition tting according to ASTM D2466. Use primer and solvent cement conforming
to ASTM D2564.
warning
Do not cut, alter or modify any Sioux Chief PVC transition tting.
Doing so will void manufacturer’s warranty.* Use caution and
follow manufacturer's instructions below when soldering the
643 series and other PVC transition ttings.

CauTion
Do not expose any Sioux Chief PVC transition area of tting
to heat in excess of 140°F. Excessive HEAT will distort and
deform the PVC insert and damage the O-ring seal. Never
install a damaged tting!
Perform all solder joints on Sioux Chief PVC transition ttings 1
at a minimum distance along the copper tube of: 11" from a
¾" PVC socket; 18" from a 1" and 1¼" PVC socket; 20" from a
1½" PVC socket and 22" from a 2" PVC socket.
A plug must be in PVC socket when soldering to prevent heated

air from rising through tting which can damage PVC socket
and O-ring.
Use a soaked cloth or commercial heat blocking agent between

solder joint and PVC joint.
Whenever possible, solder with PVC socket facing downward. 4
Always apply torch to female tting, not to the adapter.5
Always quench or otherwise cool PVC insert portion of tting 6
immediately after soldering is complete.

PrECauCiÓn

pulg.; 50 cm (20 pulg.) de un enchufe de PVC de 1½ pulg. y
55 cm (22 pulg.) de un enchufe de PVC de 2 pulg.
Al soldar, un tapón debe encontrarse en el enchufe de PVC 2
para impedir la subida del aire caliente por el accesorio, lo
que puede dañar el enchufe de PVC y la junta tórica.
Utilice un paño empapado con agua o un agente termoblo-3
