Your new hearing system equipped with e2e wireless technology can be controlled by your ePocketTM.
These instructions as well as guidance from your hearing instrument specialist will help you use and care for your ePocket for optimum performance. In this guide, you’ll find information on the operation, features, and changing the battery. In addition, a troubleshooting section is included for your reference.
Your hearing improvement with a hearing system depends on the fit of the hearing instruments, the type and degree of hearing loss, and proper diagnostic testing. Of course, a hearing system cannot restore normal hearing, and not everyone will benefit equally.
More than 80 percent of individuals with hearing loss have hearing loss in both ears. Studies show that even when a hearing loss is worse in one ear, most people with hearing loss in both ears will benefit from wearing two hearing instruments.

Note:
All ePockets operate on the same frequency. Although it is very unlikely, another ePocket within operating distance of less than 1 meter (40 inches) could potentially change the settings of your hearing system. Contact your hearing instrument specialist if this occurs. Your ePocket and hearing system can be sent to the manufacturer for a change to resolve this issue if necessary.
Note when controlling your instruments audio input with the ePocket:
If an audio shoe is attached to one or both of your hearing instruments, the program button on the ePocket or on the instruments can be used to select the audio mode (such as only audio, only microphone, or audio and microphone). The volume can be changed normally using the ePocket.
If you are wearing one hearing instrument with audio input capability and one without (for example, if you are wearing a Behind-the-Ear instrument and In-the-Ear instrument), the instrument with the audio shoe connected cannot be controlled using the ePocket.

Using the program button
You can change the program of your hearing system with the program button on the ePocket. The program button controls your programs, which are arranged in a cycle. Whenever you turn the system off and then on, or the battery is replaced, the hearing system will return to Program 1. Each time you press the program button, you move to the next program. The sequence
is 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, and so on... Your hearing instrument specialist will program the settings in the different programs for your particular listening needs.
Your hearing system may feature a program change indicator that beeps when the program is changed. When the hearing system is put into Program 1, you will hear one beep. When it is put into Program 2, you will hear two beeps, and so on.
Note:
If you are wearing two hearing instruments, the program will be changed on both instruments at the same time.
Your hearing system has been programmed as follows:

By pressing the "data read out” button for 3 - 4 seconds the display of the ePocket will be lit.
Press and hold the program button of the ePocket for more than 3 seconds to change your hearing system to its basic settings.
Use the "cover” (see "Accessories” section) to protect against accidental drips or splashes when you go near water such as a sink.
Do NOT put your ePocket in water! The cover does NOT make your ePocket waterproof.
Do NOT clean your ePocket with alcohol or benzine as this may damage the lacquer, and over time can harm the display window. Instead, clean the ePocket with a soft cloth and use a nonabrasive household soap, such as shampoo. Avoid abrasive cleaning liquids with additives such as citronic aids, ammonia, etc.

Troubleshooting tips
ISSUE
If the ePocket doesn't work
If the read out display gives you a “No connection” symbol (see pg. 12)
Another ePocket affects your hearing system
Feedback or a loud noise occurs when using the “data read out” button
SOLUTION
• Check to see if the key lock is activated. If it is, deactivate it
• Change the batteries
• If trying to use the display feature, move the ePocket closer to the hearing system or change position slightly
• Move away from electro-magnetic noise sources
• Shorten the distance between your hearing system and your ePocket and try it again
• Make sure to hold the “data read out” button for one full second within 10 centimenters (4 inches) of your hearing system
• Check to see if you’re near an electro-magnetic noise source that may interfere with the link between your hearing system and your ePocket (e.g. TVs, PC monitor) If so, move away from the source and try again.
All ePockets operate on the same frequency. Although it is very unlikely, another ePocket within operating distance (less than 1 meter, 40 inches) could potentially change the settings of your hearing system. Contact your hearing instrument specialist if this occurs. Your ePocket can be sent to the manufacturer for a change to resolve this issue if necessary.
When your system is in telecoil mode be sure that the ePocket control is less than 10 cm (4 inches) from your hearing system or you may experience a pulsing noise when operating the ePocket.
If you experience issues not listed here, or your issue is not resolved by any of these solutions, contact your hearing instrument specialist.

Important notes
After inserting a battery in your hearing instruments, it can take up to two minutes before the battery status information can be displayed on your ePocket. Please allow approximately two minutes before checking the battery status after inserting new batteries in your hearing instruments.
To reset your hearing system to the default settings (the volume and program settings as when you initially turn your system on), press and hold the program button for 3 seconds.
Always use new batteries when replacing dead batteries. Never mix old and new batteries. Return dead batteries to your hearing instrument specialist for proper disposal.
The performance of the e2e wireless could be affected by electromagnetic interference, such as a computer monitor or TV. Move away from the source of interference if you experience difficulty.
Never expose your ePocket to extreme temperatures or high humidity. Never set it in direct sunlight. Never immerse it in water.
Please do not use the read out function while in T-coil mode because a pulsing noise may be heard due to the pickup of the transmission signal from the hearing instrument’s T-coil.
