.ALA Files
.ALA files are compressed, multiple page, black and white (bi-level) files that are created and used by your system. The images are a maximum of 8.5 inches wide and 14 inches long. The resolution can be either 200x200 dpi or 300x300 dpi. The files have been optimized so they can be rapidly scanned, displayed, located, printed and faxed by your system and occupy a minimum amount of disk space. In addition, they can be converted at a later time to other file formats.
