USB port
The flash drive for the service technician is used to restore the machine configurations and as
a backup medium. The required image material for background images or a slide show can be
loaded into the machine software using the flash drive.
Since 05.2012 , a "USB-SAVE-DATA-PLUS" flash drive is included with the machine. This
flash drive is used like a SAVE DATA card. This flash drive contains no software and does not
replace the flash drive for the service technician.
See "System" - "Restore/backup" for more information on the included flash drive.
Improper use of a flash drive can lead to software problems.
Use the flash drive for the service technician with the "Schaerer directory structure".
Use the USB-SAVE-DATA-PLUS flash drive with the automatic "Create the USB-SAVEDATA" configuration.
► Remove the cover over the USB port under the touch screen.
The USB interface is now visible.
► The flash drive can now be inserted, see arrow.
The service technician flash drive automatically opens the "Restore" menu or, when re-
starting, the "Bootloader TouchIT" directly.
The USB-SAVE-DATA-PLUS flash drive is ready to receive or send backup data.
An unwritten flash drive automatically opens the [Create the USB-SAVE-DATA flash

On/off
Two sensor types are available for milk level
detection. The standard sensor is the capacitive sensor. The ultrasound sensor is optional.
"Ultrasound" milk sensor (option):
The sensor is used in an under-counter milk
system. The adjusting screw (A) with the
LED (B) are accessible from the outside.
Ultrasound sensor
Set the "Ultrasound" milk sensor:
► Switch on the "16 Milk level sensor" pa-
rameter.
The "19 Milk level detection" parame-
ter is now available under the "General Parameters".
► Fill the milk container with milk or water to
the desired "Milk empty level".
► Turn the adjusting screw (A) using a
screwdriver until the LED (B) lights up
green.
The milk level is set.
Capacitive milk sensor:
www.schaerer.comSystem
The sensor is located on the right side of the
cooling unit and is accessible after removal
of the metal cover (C) and the additional
foam insulation. The sensor does not have
an electronic setting.
To set the "Ultrasound" milk sensor manually:
► Switch on the "16 Milk level sensor" pa-
rameter.
The "19 Milk level detection" parame-
ter is now available under the "General Parameters".
► Fill the milk container with milk or water to
the desired "Milk empty level".
► The sensor can be mechanically adjust-
ed up or down (±10 mm).
The milk level is set.
The "19 Milk level detection" parameter must
be set to "Intelligent mode".
18) Cup sensorMonitoring of the presence of cups:
Whether or not the machine has a cup sensor can be determined on the left below the
beverage outlet.
► Switch on the "cup sensor".
The "21 Cup detection" parameter is
now available in the "General Parameters" menu.

external system.
See "Configuration" -"Date/time/alarm" Telemetry.
22) Eco ModeThe boilers automatically switch into temperature reduction mode after a fixed time following dispensing of the last beverage. The
boiler temperatures are reduced to 40°C.
The first temperature reduction takes place
20 min after the last beverage was dispensed or 20 min after the machine was switched on.
Procedures in "Eco Mode":
•If a coffee beverage is selected, the re-
quired boiler water is heated first before
the beverage is dispensed.
•If a beverage with hot water is selected,
the boiler water is heated and a warning
signal sounds before the hot water is dispensed.
•If a beverage with steam is selected, the
steam boiler is heated. The previous beverage selection is reset. When the steam
temperature is reached, a warning signal
sounds. The beverage needs to be selected again.
On/offThe standard setting is
"OFF".
Measurements have
shown that this results in
energy savings of up to

Water drainage
The name of the "Water drainage" system parameter is misleading because this parameter,
which is described below, is not used to drain the water system. To actually drain the water
from the entire system, Schaerer technical support must be contacted.
The "Water drainage" system parameter is used to cool the water system of the machine. In
addition, the machine is depressurised if the correct order was maintained.
See "Programming" - "Access".
► Select the "Test / calibration" system parameter.
► Select the "Water drainage" submenu.
The message for starting or cancelling the water drainage appears.

Drainage (flooding) starts with a countdown starting at 4 min.

The machine is started up.
The "Pre start services" menu appears automatically.
