Introduktion

Samsung Universal Print Driver är en drivrutin som kan användas tillsammans med olika
skrivarmodeller. På så sätt får användarna omedelbart tillgång inte bara till Samsungs skrivare
utan även PDL-baserade enheter från andra tillverkare utan att separata drivrutiner behöver
hämtas.

• PDL betyder både PCL och PS.

• Samsung garanterar inte kvaliteten på andra tillverkares skrivarenheter och på Samsung-modeller som inte

stöds (klicka på om du vill se listan med Samsung-enheter som stöds). För Samsung-modeller som inte
stöds används standardinställningen för PDL automatiskt.

Installera och avinstallera Samsung Universal Print Driver

Det här kapitlet innehåller detaljerade anvisningar om hur du installerar och avinstallerar Samsung
Universal Print Driver.

Fönstren som visas i handboken gäller för en PCL-drivrutin i Windows XP. Om du installerar en PS-drivrutin kan
andra fönster visas på skärmen, men stegen är desamma.

Installera Samsung Universal Print Driver

Innan du installerar drivrutinen måste du kontrollera de rekommenderade minimikraven för datorn (se

3. Starta installationsfilen.

4. Klicka på Nästa. Om det behövs väljer du ett språk i listrutan.

När installationsfönstret har öppnats väntar du tills installationen har slutförts.

5. Klicka på Avsluta när installationen är klar.

Om du vill registrera dig som användare av Samsung-enheter och få information från Samsung markerar du
kryssrutan och klickar på Avsluta.

Följ anvisningarna nedan om du vill avinstallera Samsung Universal Print Driver.

1. På Start-menyn i Windows anger du > Alla program > Samsung Universal Print Driver > Underhåll.

Installationsguiden för Samsung Universal Print Driver öppnas.

2. Välj Ta bort och klicka på Nästa.

3. Markera komponenterna som du vill ta bort och klicka på Nästa.

4. Ett bekräftelsefönster visas. Klicka på Ja.

5. När avinstallationen är klar klickar du på Avsluta.

Använda Samsung Universal Print Driver

Huvudsyftet med Samsung Universal Print Driver är att installera en enda drivrutin (Samsung
Universal Print Driver) och använda den tillsammans med olika utskriftsenheter. Med Samsung
Universal Print Driver kan du dock även utföra andra funktioner som att söka efter
utskriftsenheter, skapa en mapp med favoriter och kontrollera status för en enhet.

Öppna Samsung Universal Print Driver

1. På Start-menyn i Windows väljer du Skrivare och fax.

2. Högerklicka på Samsung Universal Print Driver.

3. Klicka på Utskriftsinställningar eller Egenskaper.

Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver öppnas.

Om ingen skrivare har använts nyligen öppnas ett popup-fönster där du uppmanas att söka efter skrivare. Sök efter
anslutna skrivare genom att klicka på OK.

Översikt över layouten

Layoutfältet Innehåller visningsalternativ

• : Anger layout för Samsung Universal Print Driver-fönstret. Om du

väljer Layout2 och har installerat programmet Samsung Smart Panel visas
statusfönstret (nummer 4).

• : Uppdaterar all skrivarinformation i listan.

• : Anger hur skrivarlistan visas. Med Visa detaljer visas

skrivarinformation som Adress, Plats, Status och Systemnamn. Med Visa
bilder visas också skrivarinformation men med en större skrivarbild. Det här

alternativet finns endast i Windows XP (och senare).

• : Visar skrivarlistan indelad i grupper. Tryck på den här knappen om du

vill arrangera skrivarna i grupper. Det här alternativet finns endast i Windows XP
(och senare).

• : Söker efter en skrivare i listan efter nyckelord, till exempel ett

modellnamn.

• : Öppnar hjälpfönstret.

• : Visar information om Samsung Universal Print Driver.

• Sök

- Sök nu: Söker efter skrivare som antingen är anslutna via USB eller via

nätverket.

- Sök efter adress: Söker efter en skrivare med hjälp av skrivarens IP-adress.

• Min skrivare

- Skapa en favoritmapp: Skapar en mapp för skrivare som används ofta.

• Inställningar: Visar alternativ för popup-fönster och sökningar.

Skrivarlistan

Här visas listan med skrivare. Genom att trycka på knappen i layoutfältet kan du
gruppera skrivarna. Högerklicka skrivarlistområdet. Välj ett alternativ för gruppering.

• Online/Okänd: Skapar en grupp efter enhetens status.

• Datum: Skapar en grupp efter skrivarens senaste användningsdatum, t.ex. idag,

igår, den här veckan, den här månaden osv.

• Färg/S/V: Skapar en grupp efter skrivartyp: färgskrivare eller svartvit skrivare.

• Dubbelsidig/Enkelsidig: Skapar en grupp efter om skrivaren har funktionen för

dubbelsidigt eller inte.

Statusfönstret Här visas status för den markerade skrivaren i listan. Du måste välja Layout2 och

installera programmet Samsung Smart Panel om du vill att det här fönstret ska visas.

• Uppdatera nu: Uppdaterar informationen för den markerade skrivaren.

• Köp förbrukningsmaterial: Öppnar webbplatsen där du kan köpa

förbrukningsmaterial.

• Felsökningsguide: Öppnar felsökningsavsnittet i användarhandboken. Du

måste installera Smart Panel för den aktuella skrivarmodellen om du vill visa
felsökningsguiden.

• Skrivarinställningar: Öppnar SyncThru Web Service, där det finns alternativ för

konfigurering och hantering av skrivaren. Det här alternativet kan endast
användas tillsammans med nätverksskrivare.

Ändra inställningar för Samsung Universal Print Driver

Ställa in popup-alternativ

Du kan ange att Samsung Universal Print Driver-fönstret ska visas när du skriver ut. Det finns fyra alternativ för när fönstret
ska visas.

1. Klicka på Inställningar längst ned till vänster.

2. Se Popup-alternativen nedan:

• Endast när den senast använda skrivaren inte är tillgänglig: Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver visas

endast om skrivaren som användes senast inte är tillgänglig.

• När drivrutinens användargränssnitt visas: Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver visas när du öppnar

fönstret Utskriftsinställningar (Egenskaper).

• Varje gång du skriver ut: Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver visas varje gång du skriver ut.

• Endast första gången du skriver ut: Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver visas endast första gången

Samsung Universal Print Driver väljs som skrivare i ett program.

3. Klicka på OK.

Sök nu

Om du inte känner till TCP/IP-adressen för skrivaren som du vill använda kan du söka efter enheten med hjälp av
alternativet Sök nu. Följ anvisningarna nedan:

1. På Start-menyn i Windows väljer du Skrivare och fax.

2. Högerklicka på Samsung Universal Print Driver.

3. Klicka på Utskriftsinställningar eller Egenskaper.

Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver öppnas.

4. Klicka på Sök nu.

Samsung Universal Print Driver söker bland de anslutna utskriftsenheterna.

Sökresultatet kan variera beroende på vilka sökalternativ du har angett (se ”Ange sökalternativ för skrivare” på
sidan 11.)

Sök efter adress

Om du känner till TCP/IP-adressen för skrivaren som du vill använda kan du söka efter enheten genom att ange dess TCP/
IP-adress. Du kan också söka efter enheten från ett intervall IP-adresser genom att ange start- och slut-IP-adress. Följ
anvisningarna nedan:

1. På Start-menyn i Windows väljer du Skrivare och fax.

2. Högerklicka på Samsung Universal Print Driver.

3. Klicka på Utskriftsinställningar eller Egenskaper.

Fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver öppnas.

4. Klicka på Sök efter adress.

Ett fönster öppnas.

5. Ange den särskilda IP-adressen som du vill söka efter, eller ange start- och slutadressen för att söka igenom ett

intervall IP-adresser.

6. Klicka på Sök.

Skapa en favoritmapp

Du kan skapa en mapp med skrivarna som du oftast använder. Om du till exempel reser mellan hemmet och arbetet kan
du skapa två olika skrivarmappar, Hem och Arbete, och hantera skrivarna efter behov.

Följ anvisningarna nedan om du vill skapa en favoritmapp.

1. Klicka på Skapa en favoritmapp.
Fönstret Lägg till en ny favoritmapp öppnas.

2. Ange ett mappnamn och ställ in attributen.

• Använd inte smart mapp: Lägger till en generell mapp.

Du kan lägga till en skrivare i en mapp under Min skrivare genom att dra och släppa skrivaren från listan till
mappen eller genom att högerklicka på skrivaren i listan och ange Flytta eller Kopiera.

• Använd smart mapp:

Lägger till en speciell mapp som dynamiskt visar skrivare med följande egenskaper:

- Stöder färg

- Stöder endast S/V

- Dubbelsidig utskrift

- Online: Tar med enheter med aktuell status online.

Mappen med smart filter söker efter enheter automatiskt, så användarna kan inte lägga till/ta bort skrivare i
mappen manuellt.

3. Klicka på OK.
En ny mapp läggs till under Min skrivare.

Klicka på hjälpknappen ( ) i det övre högra hörnet i fönstret Samsung Universal Print Driver.
Ett hjälpfönster öppnas. I hjälpfönstret hittar du svar på dina frågor om hur du använder Samsung Universal Print Driver.

Skriva ut med Samsung Universal Print Driver

Grundläggande information om utskrift

Följ anvisningarna nedan om du vill skriva ut ett dokument med hjälp av Samsung Universal Print Driver.

I anvisningarna nedan beskrivs hur du skriver ut från Anteckningar. Menyernas namn kan skilja sig åt beroende på
vilket program du använder.

1. Öppna filen som du vill skriva ut i ett program.

2. Välj Arkiv > Skriv ut på menyn.

3. Ange Samsung Universal Print Driver i listan med skrivare.

4. Klicka på OK. Utskriften startas.

Beroende på alternativet för popup-fönster (se ”Ställa in popup-alternativ” på sidan 10) kanske fönstret Samsung
Universal Print Driver visas före utskriften. Ange vilken skrivare du vill använda och skriv ut.

Ändra vald skrivare

1. På Start-menyn i Windows väljer du Skrivare och fax.

2. Högerklicka på Samsung Universal Print Driver.

3. Klicka på Utskriftsinställningar eller Egenskaper.
Fönstret Utskriftsinställningar (Egenskaper) öppnas.

4. Välj en annan skrivare, antingen i skrivarlistan eller genom att söka efter den (se ”Söka efter utskriftsenheter” på

sidan 12).

5. Klicka på OK. Hädanefter skrivs alla utskrifter ut på den nya skrivaren.

2. GRANT OF RIGHTS
a. Subject to the terms of this Agreement, each Contributor hereby grants Recipient a non-exclusive, worldwide,

royalty-free copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, distribute
and sublicense the Contribution of such Contributor, if any, and such derivative works, in source code and object
code form.

b. Subject to the terms of this Agreement, each Contributor hereby grants Recipient a non-exclusive, worldwide,

royalty-free patent license under Licensed Patents to make, use, sell, offer to sell, import and otherwise transfer
the Contribution of such Contributor, if any, in source code and object code form. This patent license shall apply to
the combination of the Contribution and the Program if, at the time the Contribution is added by the Contributor,
such addition of the Contribution causes such combination to be covered by the Licensed Patents. The patent
license shall not apply to any other combinations which include the Contribution. No hardware per se is licensed
hereunder.

c. Recipient understands that although each Contributor grants the licenses to its Contributions set forth herein, no

assurances are provided by any Contributor that the Program does not infringe the patent or other intellectual
property rights of any other entity. Each Contributor disclaims any liability to Recipient for claims brought by any
other entity based on infringement of intellectual property rights or otherwise. As a condition to exercising the rights
and licenses granted hereunder, each Recipient hereby assumes sole responsibility to secure any other
intellectual property rights needed, if any. For example, if a third party patent license is required to allow Recipient
to distribute the Program, it is Recipient's responsibility to acquire that license before distributing the Program.

d. Each Contributor represents that to its knowledge it has sufficient copyright rights in its Contribution, if any, to grant

the copyright license set forth in this Agreement.

3. REQUIREMENTS
A Contributor may choose to distribute the Program in object code form under its own license agreement, provided
that:

a. it complies with the terms and conditions of this Agreement; and
b. its license agreement:

• effectively disclaims on behalf of all Contributors all warranties and conditions, express and implied, including

warranties or conditions of title and non-infringement, and implied warranties or conditions of merchantability
and fitness for a particular purpose;

• effectively excludes on behalf of all Contributors all liability for damages, including direct, indirect, special,

incidental and consequential damages, such as lost profits;

• states that any provisions which differ from this Agreement are offered by that Contributor alone and not by

any other party; and

• states that source code for the Program is available from such Contributor, and informs licensees how to

obtain it in a reasonable manner on or through a medium customarily used for software exchange.

When the Program is made available in source code form:

a. it must be made available under this Agreement; and
b. ia copy of this Agreement must be included with each copy of the Program.

Contributors may not remove or alter any copyright notices contained within the Program. Each Contributor must
identify itself as the originator of its Contribution, if any, in a manner that reasonably allows subsequent Recipients to
identify the originator of the Contribution.

4. COMMERCIAL DISTRIBUTION

Commercial distributors of software may accept certain responsibilities with respect to end users, business partners
and the like. While this license is intended to facilitate the commercial use of the Program, the Contributor who includes
the Program in a commercial product offering should do so in a manner which does not create potential liability for

related to Product X, those performance claims and warranties are such Commercial Contributor's responsibility alone.
Under this section, the Commercial Contributor would have to defend claims against the other Contributors related to
those performance claims and warranties, and if a court requires any other Contributor to pay any damages as a result,
the Commercial Contributor must pay those damages.

5. NO WARRANTY

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT, THE PROGRAM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS"
BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING,
WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT,
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Each Recipient is solely responsible for
determining the appropriateness of using and distributing the Program and assumes all risks associated with its
exercise of rights under this Agreement, including but not limited to the risks and costs of program errors, compliance
with applicable laws, damage to or loss of data, programs or equipment, and unavailability or interruption of operations.

6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT, NEITHER RECIPIENT NOR ANY CONTRIBUTORS
SHALL HAVE ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOST PROFITS), HOWEVER CAUSED AND
ON ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR TORT (INCLUDING
NEGLIGENCE OR OTHERWISE) ARISING IN ANY WAY OUT OF THE USE OR DISTRIBUTION OF THE
PROGRAM OR THE EXERCISE OF ANY RIGHTS GRANTED HEREUNDER, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE

7. GENERAL

If any provision of this Agreement is invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, it shall not affect the validity or
enforceability of the remainder of the terms of this Agreement, and without further action by the parties hereto, such
provision shall be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to make such provision valid and enforceable. If
Recipient institutes patent litigation against a Contributor with respect to a patent applicable to software (including a
cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit), then any patent licenses granted by that Contributor to such Recipient under
this Agreement shall terminate as of the date such litigation is filed. In addition, if Recipient institutes patent litigation
against any entity (including a cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Program itself (excluding
combinations of the Program with other software or hardware) infringes such Recipient's patent(s), then such
Recipient's rights granted under Section 2(b) shall terminate as of the date such litigation is filed. All Recipient's rights
under this Agreement shall terminate if it fails to comply with any of the material terms or conditions of this Agreement
and does not cure such failure in a reasonable period of time after becoming aware of such noncompliance. If all
Recipient's rights under this Agreement terminate, Recipient agrees to cease use and distribution of the Program as
soon as reasonably practicable. However, Recipient's obligations under this Agreement and any licenses granted by
Recipient relating to the Program shall continue and survive. Everyone is permitted to copy and distribute copies of this
Agreement, but in order to avoid inconsistency the Agreement is copyrighted and may only be modified in the following
manner. The Agreement Steward reserves the right to publish new versions (including revisions) of this Agreement
from time to time. No one other than the Agreement Steward has the right to modify this Agreement. IBM is the initial
Agreement Steward. IBM may assign the responsibility to serve as the Agreement Steward to a suitable separate
entity. Each new version of the Agreement will be given a distinguishing version number. The Program (including
Contributions) may always be distributed subject to the version of the Agreement under which it was received. In
addition, after a new version of the Agreement is published, Contributor may elect to distribute the Program (including
its Contributions) under the new version. Except as expressly stated in Sections 2(a) and 2(b) above, Recipient
receives no rights or licenses to the intellectual property of any Contributor under this Agreement, whether expressly,

reserved. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York and the intellectual property laws of the
