Description of Device
Read these instructions carefully before putting the control unit
into operation and then using it.

The REMKO GSG-4 control unit is used in combination with an additional external temperature control (e.g. REMKO ATR-1 or ATR-3) to
connect and control a max. of 4 heaters.
The modes heating, ventilating and resetting the electronic control system, can be controlled separately for the individual GPA-C with this unit.
The modes unit operation and burner malfunction are displayed separately for each unit by the respective control light.
The control unit is supplied with all accessories to connect a maximum of
4 units. However, the required thermostat control is not included.

Functionality
Mode selector
The mode selector sets the function of the individual units.
0 = OFF
I = Heat
II = Fan
Thermostat control is not possible for the mode setting II = Fan!

Operating light
The green operating light is illuminated when the operating switch of the
unit is switched to Position I (heating).
Malfunction light
The red malfunction light is illuminated when the unit was switched off
due to a problem with the burner.
Reset button
The reset button releases the safety mechanism of the heater and restarts the unit.
Before pressing the Reset button, you should first identify the
cause of the malfunction and fix the problem!

If the safety temperature limiter (STB) has switched off the burner, the
STB-RESET button in the inspection room of the heater must also be
pressed (see the operating instructions for the heater).
The REMKO GSG-4 control unit may only be connected to a 7-pole
plug of the GPA-C heating units intended for this purpose.

Safety Hints
Þ Before working with the control unit, all current-carrying lines must be
free of current!
Þ Connection and service of the control unit may only be performed by
authorised personnel!
Þ The control unit must be protected from damage and unauthorised
use!
Þ Compliance to VDE 0100 must be assured as well as any additional
requirements of the local EVU!
Installation and Initial Operation
Only have the control unit connected and put into operation by
authorised electrical personnel.
1. Assemble the heater following the instructions in the operating
manual.
2. The control unit must be set up in such a way that all heaters are
visible during operation.
3. Establish the electrical connection between the control unit and
the heater in accordance with the wiring diagram (page 6). The
necessary installation material (electrical cables, etc.) must be
supplied by the customer.
Note: The electrical connection between the heater and the control unit
may only be established using the supplied 7-pole plug.
4. Make sure that the control current for the contactor is activated
from the optional external control unit (see the wiring diagram on
page 6).
Note: The integrated contactor (K1) is controlled by the separately
installed external control unit and isolates the respective heater.
Operation that complies with regulations is only assured when a
thermostat (REMKO ATR-1, ATR-3 or ) is installed and connected

for temperature control.
