Chartcards
Yourproductispre-loadedwithelectroniccharts(worldwide basemap).Ifyouwishtousedifferentchartdata,youcaninsert compatiblechartcardsintotheunit'scardslot.
Usebrandedchartcardsandmemorycards
Whenarchivingdata,Raymarinerecommendstheuseofquality brandedmemorycards.Somebrandsofmemorycardmaynot workinyourunit.Pleasecontactcustomersupportforalist ofrecommendedcards.
EMCinstallationguidelines
Raymarineequipmentandaccessoriesconformtothe appropriateElectromagneticCompatibility(EMC)regulations, tominimizeelectromagneticinterferencebetweenequipment andminimizetheeffectsuchinterferencecouldhaveonthe performanceofyoursystem
CorrectinstallationisrequiredtoensurethatEMCperformance isnotcompromised.
Note:InareasofextremeEMCinterference,someslight interferencemaybenoticedontheproduct.Wherethisoccurs theproductandthesourceoftheinterferenceshouldbe separatedbyagreaterdistance.
ForoptimumEMCperformancewerecommendthatwherever possible:

3.7Selectingalocationforthe transducer
Thisproductissuppliedwithatransommounttransducer.The guidelinesbelowshouldbefollowedwhenselectingalocation forthetransducer.
Note:Thetransducerisnotsuitableformountingonvessels wherethetransomisaftofthepropeller(s).
Forbestperformancethetransducermustbeinstalledina locationwiththeleastturbulenceandaeration.Themost effectivewaytodeterminethisisbycheckingthewaterow aroundthetransomwhilstunderway.
•Thetransducershouldbemountedclosetothekeel (centreline)ofthevessel,sothatthetransducerremainsfully submergedwhenthevesselisturning.
•Thetransducermustbemountedasuitabledistancefrom thepropeller(s)toavoidwake.
•Forclockwiserotatingpropellersthetransducershouldbe mountedonthestarboardside,foranti-clockwiserotating propellersthetransducershouldbemountedontheportside.

Prevailingconditions
TheweatherandlocationofthevesselcanaffecttheGPS performance.Typicallycalmclearconditionsprovideforamore accurateGPSx.Vesselsatextremenortherlyorsoutherly latitudesmayalsoreceiveaweakerGPSsignal.GPSantenna mountedbelowdeckswillbemoresusceptibletoperformance issuesrelatedtotheprevailingconditions.
Compasssafedistance
Topreventpotentialinterferencewiththevessel'smagnetic compasses,ensureanadequatedistanceismaintainedfrom thedisplay .
Whenchoosingasuitablelocationforthedisplayyoushouldaim tomaintainthemaximumpossibledistancebetweenthedisplay andanycompasses.Typicallythisdistanceshouldbeatleast 1m(3ft)inalldirections.Howeverforsomesmallervessels itmaynotbepossibletolocatethedisplaythisfarawayfrom acompass.Inthissituation,thefollowingguresprovidethe minimumsafedistancethatshouldbemaintainedbetweenthe displayandanycompasses.

Oncetheinitialmountingprocedureshavebeencarriedout,the transducermustbetestedpriortonishingthemounting.
Thetestingshouldbecarriedoutwithyourvesselinthewater, withadepthgreaterthan0.7m(2.3ft)butlessthanthe maximumdepthlimitofthesystem.
TheSonarapplicationwillbeabletomaintainreadingsatdepths greaterthantheDownVisionapplication.
Note:Itmaynotalwaysbepossibletoobtaindepthreadings athigherspeedsduetoairbubblespassingunderthe transducer.
1.PressandholdthePowerbuttonuntilabeepisheard.
2.CompletetheStart-upwizardsettings.
3.UsetheViewswitchertoopenaviewwhichcontainsthe SonarorDownVisionapplication.
Iftheunitisoperatingcorrectlythebottomshouldbevisible on-screenandthedepthreadingdisplayed.
4.Startmovingyourvesselatalowspeedandensurethe depthreadingandbottomareshownandthatyouhavea clearimageon-screen.
5.Graduallyincreasethevesselspeeduptoyourusual cruisingspeed,whilstcheckingthedisplayiftheimage becomespoor,startsskippingormissingthebottomthenthe transducerneedstobeadjusted.
6.Heightandangleadjustmentsshouldbemadeinsmall increments,andre-testedeachtimeuntilyouobtainoptimum performance.
7.Toadjusttheangleofthetransducerloosenthepivotbolt approximately3turnsandthenpivotthetransducereither upordown.
8.Re-tightenthepivotboltbeforere-testing.
9.Whenyouachieveoptimumperformanceatthedesired vesselspeedsyoucannishthetransducermounting.
