PREPARATION
CONNECTING TO AC POWER
Plug the clock radio’s powe r cord into a standard AC outlet. The display flashes and the BATTERY SENTINEL indicator light next to the time display turns on (see “Installing a Back-Up Battery”).

INSTALLING A BACK-UP BATTERY
Your clock radio u ses a 9V battery (not supplied) to operate the clock and alarm during a power failure. The dis play turns off, but the clock keeps the time for at least 8 hours, and the alarm will sound (if set) for at least 10 minutes after pow­er fails. For the best performance, we recommend an alkaline bat tery, such as RadioShack Cat. No. 23-553.
1. Press the tab and lift off the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the clock radio.

2. Snap the clock radio’s battery con­tacts onto the battery’s terminals, then insert the battery into the com­partment. The BATTERY SENTI­NEL indicator turns off.

USING THE ALARM
Setting the Alarm Time
You can set the clock radio so an alarm sounds or the radio plays at one or two different times (ALAR M 1 and ALARM 2).
Follow these steps to set the alarm times.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To enjoy your clock radio for a long time:
• Keep the clock radio dry. If it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
• Use and store the clock radio only in normal temperature environments.
• Handle the clock radio gently and carefully. Don’t drop it.
• Keep the clock radio away from dust and dirt.
• Wipe the clock radio with a damp cloth occasionally to keep it looking new.
Modifying or tampering with the clock ra­dio’s internal components can cause a malfunction and invalidate its warranty. If your clock radio is n ot performin g as it should, take it to your local RadioShack store for assistance.
THE FCC WANTS YOU TO KNOW
Your clock radio might c ause TV or ra­dio interference even when it is operat­ing properly. To determine whet her y our clock radio is causing the interference, turn off your clock radio. If the interfer­ence goes away, your clock radio is causing the interference. Try to elimi­nate the interference by:
• moving your clock radio away from the TV or another radio
• connecting your clock radio to an outlet that is on a different electrical circuit from the TV or another radio
• contacting your local RadioShack store for help
If you cannot eliminat e the interference, the FCC requires that you stop using the clock radio.
