New Features and Enhancements 0

i.6.6 0

Quantum Key Manager (QKM) Support 0
Quantum Key Manager (QKM) generates, protects, stores, and maintains data encryption keys that are used to encrypt information being written to, and decrypt information being read from, LTO-4 tape media.
QKM acts as a process awaiting key generation or key retrieval requests sent to it through a secure TCP/IP communication path between QKM and the tape library.

i6.5 0

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) Enhancements 0
The Scalar i2000 i6.5 release provides enhancements to the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) features. LDAP is the industry standard Internet protocol that provides centralized user account management. For more information, see the Scalar i2000 Addendum (06-01244-05).
Any LDAP configurations from i6.3.1 and earlier will not import into the i6.5 LDAP configuration. You must reconfigure LDAP after you install the i6.5 update.
DNS Support 0
If DHCP is disabled, you can specify primary and secondary Domain Name System (DNS servers). DNS servers provide IP address resolution of fully qualified domain names. DNS settings are optional.
After you change the DNS settings, you must reboot the library for these changes to take affect.
StorageCare Vision/Guardian 0
Enhancements were made to improve StorageCare Vision/Guardian functionality.
HTTP Improvements 0
You can now disable or enable the HTTP setting via the Security menu. To prevent access to the library using the web browser client, Setup > Security > and select Disable. If you choose to disable HTTP, access to the library is limited to the library’s operator panel or the AMC application. To permit access to the library GUI using a web browser client, select Enable.
Ability to Send Data Files 0
Along with sending drive utilization reports in the form of PDFs, you can now e-mail data using the comma delimited text files (.csv).
A .csv file is a plain text file that stores basic database-style information in a simple format, with one record on each line, and each field within that record separated by a comma. When you save and send the data using comma delimited text files (.csv) it is easier to view and manipulate the data in spreadsheets.

SMTP 0
The library now supports the capability to test the SMTP Server settings.
Library Email 0
The library now has the capability to email configuration reports.
Resolved Issues 0

RCU - The Robot attempts to move with Picker Extended. Fixed a timing issue that could cause the RCU to timeout a picker command before the picker had completed the operation. The RCU could then try to move the picker before the GRP is completely retracted. Now the picker will fail and post a ticket if it cannot move before the RCU times out the operation.

20808 926800 Reduce Slot Full Events. Prior to the fix, the RCU would post a ticket any time it could not
put a tape even though the MCB recovers the tape to an alternate slot. Now the E_GRP_SLOT_FULL ticket is now turned off at the RCU. The RCU only posts a ticket, E_GRIPPER_DESTINATION_OBSTRUCTED, if the picker could not put a tape in the destination and a barcode was not detected to indicate a full slot. When the RCU reports it cannot put a tape, the MCB tries to put the tape to an alternate slot in the partition. If that fails, a ticket is posted indicating that the tape cannot be placed. When a tape is placed in an alternate slot than commanded, a UA of 6/2800 is posted to indicate the inventory has changed
20810 I/E Station IEX Offline – Note: requires IEX 160A firmware (not upgradeable without HW
replacement. On the RCU, do not poll the IEX cards until all cards have been given a chance to respond (up to 300sec). Change the IEX image, at startup, to have a 30ms delay between messages, based on frame number, so the RCU is not overloaded (see 22496).

20812 Critical ticket is generated if duplicate cartridges are in the same column. Uses the changes
from 20856, that added an individual scan of each slot after the sweep of the column failed, to verify each slot’s label if there is a duplicate cartridge found. Turn off the ticket E_MAGCOL_DUPLICATE_CARTRIDGE.

Only log E_CELL_CARTRIDGE_OUTSIDE_SLOT_WINDOW and E_MAGAZINE_CART_OUTSIDE_BOUNDARIES since a single slot scan has been implemented (20856) that resolves what is in a slot. Other tickets are posted if there is a problem within the slot (i.e. E_CELL_CARTRIDGE_HAS_TWO_LABELS).
20870 E_GRP_REACH_HOME_FAILED ticket is posted when no problem is found. To reduce this
ticket the reach axis is now calibrated.
20904 Drive Comm Warning - change E_DDC_DP_DRIVE_COMMS_WARNING and
E_DDC_DP_DRIVE_COMMS_FAILED events to 'informational only' so that they don't cause tickets.
20921 The RCU should not try to open a file, for writing, on the MCB more than one time. Add a
check to make sure the number of entries read from the file makes sense before using the file.

could take up to 10 minute.

11265 Timeout definition required for Logical
Library.
Applications have varying time-outs for Move Medium, with the minimum, non-configurable timeout being 300 seconds. Thus each logical library (LL) has an absolute time budget of 300/#LLs to "spend" on a move. If an LL knows in advance that it will be unable to perform a move, the LL can return Busy to the application. If one LL consumes the entire 300 seconds doing recovery, all the other LLs will timeout.
