Electrical devices are not toys. Keep the product away from children. There can be dangers that can´t be recognised by children
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. Eventually necessary cleaning or maintenance may not be carried out by children.
Using the device, maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by qualified personnel who are familiar with the risks involved, the relevant regulations and with the guidelines and safety precautions to be applied.
Do not try to disassemble the device - the internal circuitry contains hazardous voltages. Attempting to service the unit yourself may result in electric shock or fire and will void the unit warranty.
Always keep metal objects or other materials that can short circuit the terminals of the battery securely away. A resulting spark or short-circuit may not only damage the device, but also cause an explosion and potentially produce a current high enough to weld a ring or the like to metal. Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches when working on the device or the battery.
Operate the device only, if all cables and the housing are undamaged and all connections are tight and clean. Loose or dirty connections could result in overheating, electrical sparks and fire.
Only use the product as intended and for purposes described in the manual.
After opening the package, examine all parts for visible damage. If you have found any damage,
please contact the company you purchased this unit from.
Power-off and stop using the device immediately, if the unit is smoking or is showing any abnormal behaviour. Do not put the device in operation again without contacting the seller or manufacturer.
Never connect cables in reverse polarity or short-circuit connected cables. This may blow internal fuses and may damage the device permanently.
Ensure the device is standing firmly. The device must be set up and fastened in such a way that it cannot tip over or fall down.
Environment:
Only use the product in environments from -40°C ~ 65°C.
Do not put anything that should be protected from sparks around the device. Do not operate the
product in damp, wet or dusty environments: Never expose the device to rain or snow. Doing so may result in damage to the device or other equipment installed in the system or result in electric shock or fire. Do not operate the unit in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Doing so may result in fire or explosion.
To avoid heat accumulation - do not cover the device. To prevent overheating , ensure that air inlets and ventilation is not obstructed. Do not expose the device to a heat source (such as direct sunlight or heating). Avoid additional heating of the device in this way.
Electrical Cables
Do not pull on the cables.
Prevent all cables from being stepped on, tripped over, or being damaged by e.g. sharp edges or hot
surfaces.
5
Working with Batteries
Batteries can store large amounts of energy and improper handling can be dangerous. Never connect to a battery with an unsuited voltage or other unsuitable or damaged batteries
Keep children away from batteries and acid.
Avoid getting electrolyte on your skin or clothes. It is acidic and can cause burns. If battery acid
contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with water. Baking soda neutralizes lead acid battery electrolyte. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, immediately flood your eyes with running cold water for at least 20 minutes and get medical attention immediately. Eye protection is therefore recommended.
Power-off the device before making or breaking the connections to the battery.
Depending on the type of battery, when a battery is being charged, you may notice bubbling in the
fluid caused by the release of gas. As the gas is flammable, avoid naked flames, glowing or electrostatically charged material and sparks in the vicinity of the battery. Always provide adequate ventilation when charging a battery.
Observe technical instructions of the seller or the manufacturer of your battery. Observe your car´s owner's manual.
Only put the device in operation if the device and all cables are undamaged. Check if all connections are tight and clean. Loose or dirty connections could result in overheating, electrical sparks and fire.
If necessary, clean the battery´s terminals and use terminal grease where required.
Never smoke or allow a spark or flame in vicinity of the battery.
Never try to charge a damaged or frozen battery. Never jumpstart a car with a frozen battery.
Do not place the device directly on top of the battery or vice versa or on a surface constructed from
combustible material.
6
Intended use
The PRO-USER SC800A Jump Starter is intended to jump start any 12V car or truck. After each failed attempt to jumpstart your car, take a break for at least 3 minutes to avoid overheating. With the unit on board the vehicle, you may start your vehicle´s motor even with a weak or dead battery in case of need.
Maintenance
Most important for maintaining the SC800A is to charge the unit completely every 3 month to 100%. In the event of failure to comply with this obligation, the battery may deep-discharge and the unit might be damaged. From time to time, make sure all cable connections are clean and tight and possibly existing fans are working correctly. If necessary, clean the unit with care, using a dry cloth. Don’t try to open the body casing. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Damage due to improper use, modifications or attempted repairs lead to the exclusion of liability and the loss of warranty. If the unit is damaged, the appliance must be discarded. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children.
Packaging materials
To avoid danger of suffocation, do not let children play with foils or other packaging materials. Remove all protective coverings before putting the device in operation.
Storage
When not in use, store the device in a dry environment. Store the device in a safe place out of the reach of children. Protect the unit from direct sunlight, heat and moisture, strong vibration and mechanical influences. Always store the device with its cables stowed carefully with the device so that no shortcircuits may occur.

Charging The Internal Battery
Before the 1st operation:
This unit is delivered in a partially charged state, due to storage requirements. Please fully charge the device after your purchase and before your first use.
Battery Life
Recharging the battery after each use will prolong battery life. Do not permanently charge the battery, but also avoid to (frequently) fully discharge the battery, as this will reduce battery life. Please recharge the battery at least every 3 months to keep the battery in good condition and being able to jump start at any time. Not charging the SC800A every 3 months can cause a permanent damage to the internal battery and can result in a broken unit.
Charging the internal backup battery with USB
Charge the device after buying and before first operation with the enclosed USB charging cable and a common USB charger (not included) or with the USB output of your computer. Connect the micro-USB cable to the USB input (8) of the jump starter and the USB output of your USB charger or computer. Alternatively a USB power-bank with sufficient capacity can be used as a power source. The charging state of the internal battery can be monitored on the LCD display when charging (12).
OPERATION
9
PREPARING THE JUMP STARTER – CHARGING THE SUPERCAPACITOR
In order to be able to jump start a vehicle, the internal supercapacitor has to be pre-charged. This can be accomplished in different ways:
Charging the supercapacitor with the help of the vehicle´s battery (standard method)
The supercapacitor jump starter only needs very low remaining power from the battery, so that a weak battery (battery voltage over 5 volts) can still charge the supercapacitor:
- Connect the red battery clamp to the vehicle's battery positive (+) terminal and connect the black battery clamp to the vehicle's battery negative (-) terminal. This method is the fastest way to charge (1 minute)
Alternatively you may use the cigarette-lighter-charging cable: Use the including 12V charging adapter to connect to the 12V charging input (7) of the SC800A and the vehicles 12V output. Some vehicles may require to turn the ignition on to apply voltage to the 12V output. Precharging the supercapacitor with this method can take up to 2 minutes.
- Turn on the device by pressing the power button. (3)
- The SC800A will measure the battery voltage (9) and the inner resistance (11) of the connected battery. Based upon this data, it will recommend if the battery should be recharged (LCD display “NEED RECHARGE”) or replaced (LCD display “REPLACE BATTERY”)
- If the vehicle´s battery is good enough to charge the supercapacitor (supercapacitor voltage 15V) the LCD display will show „JUMP START READY“. If the „JUMP START READY“-message will not light up and the capacitor voltage (10) is over 14V, press the Boost-button (5) for 2 seconds.
- 10 seconds after the „JUMP START READY“-message is displayed, the device is ready to jump start your vehicle.
If your vehicle´s battery voltage is very low (battery voltage lower than 5 Volts), the supercapacitor cannot be charged by the vehicle´s battery and another method of pre-charging the supercapacitor has to be chosen.
10
Charging the supercapacitor with the help of the internal backup battery
If the vehicle´s battery is too weak, the supercapacitor can also be charged via the internal backup battery:
- Press the backup-battery-button (5) for 2 seconds to start the charging process.
- The supercapacitor voltage (10) has to be 15 Volts to be able to jump start a vehicle. This charging method will take up to 4 minutes.
- 10 seconds after the „JUMP START READY“-message is displayed, the device is ready to jump start your vehicle.
Charging the supercapacitor with the help of the USB input
The supercapacitor can also be charged with help of an USB charger (not included) or another USB power source like an USB output of a computer or an USB power-bank.
- Connect the USB power source to the micro-USB-charging input (8) of the SC800A
- The supercapacitor voltage (10) has to be 15 Volts to be able to jump start a vehicle. This charging method will take up to 20 minutes.
- 10 seconds after the „JUMP START READY“-message is displayed, the device is ready to jump start your vehicle.
11
JUMP-STARTING YOUR CAR (12V)
NOTE:
Read your car´s owner's manual! Some vehicle manufacturers have special requirements before jumpstarting the vehicle (e.g. fuses that have to be removed or certain security demands). Some vehicles manufacturers place the battery in the cargo area or trunk. These vehicles often have designated jumpstart terminals.
Attention: Always follow the specific order to reduce of the risk fire and explosion.
Connect the SC800A to the vehicle´s battery and prepare the device as described. Make sure the supercapacitor is charged and the LCD display shows “JUMP START READY” (wait 10 seconds before operation).
- Connect the red battery clamp to the vehicle's battery positive (+) terminal and connect the black battery clamp to the vehicle's battery negative (-) terminal. Make sure the clamps are tight and there’s no oxide or dirt on the vehicle battery’s terminal.
- Start your vehicle’s engine. Do not operate the starter for longer than 6 seconds. If the jump start fails, wait at least 3 minutes before another attempt. Always check the display of the SC800A. After three failed attempts to jump start the car, check your vehicle for other possible faults and damages than a weak battery.
- If the vehicle started, remove the jumper cables within 30 seconds. Disconnect the BLACK clamp and then the RED clamp from the vehicle´s battery. Leave the vehicle's engine running.
If the device doesn’t react when pressing the power-button (3), low voltage protection might be active and the device has to be charged with the help of the 12V input or the 5V USB input. Please make sure to regularly charge the internal backup-battery in order to keep the device in good condition and to be able to use the device´s full functionality.
