PRINTRONIX T5000 / SL5000 Thermal Printer
Maintenance Plan Summary
The T5000 Series of Printers consists of a family of high quality, Direct Thermal and Thermal Transfer
printers specifically designed for printing labels and tags, from any MS-DOS, Windows, or ASCII based
compatible computer.
The T5000 Thermal Transfer family includes three basic models, T5X04, T5X06 and T5X08. The
model number indicates the print resolution and the print width. For example, a T5206 is a 203 dpi
printer with a 6-inch print width and a T5308 is a 300 dpi printer with an 8-inch print width. The
printhead is interchangeable so that a 203 dpi printer in the field can be easily upgraded to be a 300 dpi
printer, typically by a customer. The printhead is a customer replaceable consumable. 4, 6 and 8-inch
printheads must be used with 4, 6 and 8 inch models. A 6-inch head cannot be mounted in an 8-inch
model and vise versa.
Emulations: The T5000 has the standard Printronix LinePrinter Plus (LP+) emulation which
provides direct compatibility with Printronix P-series printers. In addition, the printer has coresident Printronix IGP/PGL and IGP/VGL emulations which provide printer subsystem
commands for text, barcodes, graphics, lines, and boxes.
T5000r also includes Protocol Interpreters for PPI/ZGL (Zebra), PPI/TGL (TEC), PPI/IPL
(Intermec) and PPI/STGL (Sato).
Hardware Options:
Fonts A selection of fonts is available to extend the capabilities of the standard
Memory Expansion:
Media Cutter: A Heavy Duty cutter is used to automatically cut printed media.
Label/Tag Catcher Tray: Used with the Media Cutter option to catch the cut media and
Internal Label Rewinder: Used for Batch rewind or Peel-Off mode, peels off labels one
Coax / Twinax Host Interface: Provides connection to an IBM host computer system
